TAMPA STUMP GRINDING

I called and left a message on Monday afternoon about getting a stump removed. I got a call back in about an hour, and Tom was out at our house Tuesday afternoon to do the work. He was friendly, professional, and took the time to discuss what we needed to ensure that grinding the stump would be sufficient (it was in the way of a new fence going up). His machine completely obliterated the stump we'd spent days trying to take down. I would 100% call again if we have any future stump issues!

Called Tampa Stump and was told someone was in the area and would respond within one hour. Fifty minutes later "Smokey" Jim showed up ready to do the job. Gave me a good, quick idea of what needed to be done and what to expect to see afterwards, and a very reasonable quote for the work (about a 6 ft. diameter area). Five minutes later, the grinder was out of the trailer and fully at work. Jim handled the machine with expert skill and there was no lasting damage to my front lawn around the stump area. When he finished, the stump area was a small mound of dirt and Jim cleaned up the area including the driveway and sidewalk. I am very please with the service from Tampa Stump and will recommend them without hesitation. I should add that they are one of 5 grinding companies I spoke with over the last 2 weeks, and they are the only one who came out when they said they would, gave a firm, fair quote, and did the job as expected. All without the drama and missed appointments and unreturned calls from the other companies. Do yourself a favor, call Tampa Stump first, and ask for Jim.

From start to finish this experience was great. I contacted this company and they called me back a short time later (maybe 15 minutes). It was a Friday afternoon when I contacted them and they requested I send them photos for a rough estimate. I sent them photos and got a quote over the phone. The price was perfect and they were at my house within an hour or two. He showed up explained the process and was informative about how deep he should go in case we want to re-sod later. During the job he had an issue with his machine and wasn’t able to finish that day. He came by the following morning and made me a priority to ensure the job got done. If you are looking to get a stump removed I would highly recommend this company. My stump was fairly large so needs to be considered with the cost I paid.

Jim was amazing and super prodessional! He was a great communicator and was able to come on the weekend without question. He was very personable, and got right to work. Called and spoke to Steve yesterday. He came by our house today and already completed the job. I was not home at the time but Steve made sure to send me a picture of the completed job without me even asking. Highly recommend. Thanks!

Contacted Dave at Tampa Stump Grinding on 5/5/2016.  Dave said that he was in Lakeland at the time of my call, but he'd have Tom (who lived near my property) call me back and set up a date and time for an estimate.  Tom called me back a few minutes later and said that he'd visit my home on 5/6/16 to give me an estimate on grinding the stump.

I had had a tree cut down the previous week and called 811 to have underground utilities marked.  I mentioned to Tom on the phone that I'd had utilities flagged and the stump was over an area marked with a water line, a gas line and cable lines.   The cable lines were my biggest concern since the cable was on top of a couple of tree roots in a couple of areas.   811 flaggers had actually spray painted a couple of the surfaced cable lines orange to point them out.  I also knew from previous experience that the cable companies sometimes don't bury their drop lines very deeply (which can result in the homeowner paying for any needed repairs).   Tom checked out the situation and agreed to return 5/9/2016 for the grinding.   Tom arrived on time and proceeded to carefully grind out all areas of the stump and roots possible without disrupting my cable service.   After completing the grinding, Tom used a plow on the front of the grinding machine to level over the area where the stump had been.   He then used a blower to clean up my neighbors lawn, my lawn  and the sidewalks in the area (which had received a light coat of ground wood from the trunk and roots grinding).   

The grinding machine  itself was pretty neat - remote controlled,  which allowed Tom to stand 10 feet or so away from the machine and walk around it to get a good 360 degree view of where grinding was occurring and thus help to keep my cable in tact.

Steve was awesome. I emailed Tampa Stump this morning and got a quick response. He was in the neighborhood and came right by. Took care of a 20 inch diameter stump in less than 5 mins! I would highly recommend them if you are in need of an unsightly tree stump removal! All we need to do is put a small piece of sod down and it'll look good as new. Thanks again! 

Steve made the reservation for date and time, I had measured the stumps diameter and we agreed on the price. He showed up on time did the job and was done in no time. I would recommend Steve highly. His quote was a third of the others. I extremely satisfied. Thanks Steve and Sherwood.

I called to inquire. We discussed the project over the phone. Since it was a small job, there was no need for him to make a special trip out to see the stump. He said he could do it for $100. With all the rain, we had to wait for the lawn to dry out some as his machine is very heavy and needs solid ground so as not to make deep ruts.
Anyways, the date was eventually set, he came out on schedule and using a wireless remote control, he drove his machine off its trailer and guided it around the house to the back the yard. He ground down that stump and its extending roots well below grade in just a few minutes. I watched like a little kid. He guided his machine back to its trailer, prepared my invoice, gave me his card , accepted my check and was gone.
We then raked up the wood chips(there is quite a bit of that) and filled yard waste barrels which were eventually set out for the normal yard waste haulers to take away. No more ugly stump! And he charged me $85, less than the $100 discussed on the phone.

Steve showed up on time and was very professional. Only took him a 1/2 hr to grind our entire fron yard. Very good work.

I just joined Angie's List after some long deliberation and research. Right after joining, on November 2nd, I found Tampa Stump Grinding on Angie's List, called and left a message, to which I got a reply very quickly from Steve. I was out of town, so Steve said he would run by the house next day and take a look at the stump. He called me back that next day, gave me a good report and a very fair price. He said he could do the work even though I would still be out of town and if I liked what he did, I could mail him a check for the invoiced amount. When I got home, I found the work had been completed as promised, on November 4 and was done properly, completely and nothing was damaged. Steve had left his invoice and some business cards at my door. I gladly wrote a check and mailed it off. Steve was very professional and reassuring and I felt like I was dealing with a trustworthy businessman. I was so impressed that he had told me several times that once I got home and saw the completed job, if I was 100% satisfied I could mail him a check, or if I found any issues I could hold off paying and contact him to make it right. Steve was confident I would find nothing to object to, and he was right. I am totally satisfied with his work and his professionalism. I would definitely use him again and recommend his business to others.

AK Tree Service removed my trees but didn't have a stump grinder. I found Steve on Angie's list and sent him an email with pictures of the stumps and logistics of the yard. He responded in a few hours via email with an estimate and available date. We had to use a later date but he was right on time and got rid of the stumps. Ground the stumps down to a foot below ground surface so that we could put a patio deck in. Steve did a great job. Wasn't here long and left the site is good condition ready for some raking and sod. Thank you Steve!

Steve was punctual, we walked the yard and I showed him the various stumps that needed to be removed. He gave me a reasonable price, which I agreed upon. He then got to work. He did a great job. When he was done, he smoothed out the areas. Professional in every way!

He was very meticulous and careful not to disturb the pipes for my sprinkler system.

Contacted Steve by phone and arranged a day and time. He arrived exactly on time, gave us a price, which we accepted and he did the work. Steve's equipment was new and well maintained. He made short work of the stumps. It was a pleasure dooing business with this company. The whole transaction was completely professional.

Showed up around 3:00 o'clock pm and started right away on stump. The gentleman was very courteous and professional about his work. It took about 20 minutes for him to remove the stump. I was very pleased with the job he did.

Steve returned my call right away. He was prompt and professional. He clearly described his concerns and basis for his price. His equipment was appropriately sized for the job. He was careful around my pool and irrigation pipes. I was happy with the job done and would call him again in the future.
