"Thank you so much for the great review [Member Name Removed]! We love helping our customers transform their pools into a beautiful backyard oasis. So glad that you are happy with the outcome!"
"The person posting this review is not a customer of our company. The address they provided is not in our service area and the name is not on our customer list. Please provide us with more information so that we can respond if necessary, or remove this review if it was posted to our company in error. Thank you"
"[member name removed] has also written a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, which we have successfully defended, Case #90192934. We have been BBB members for over 20 years and are proud to maintain an A+ rating. We have been in business for 28 years, and provide monthly service to over 800 pools in the Western Communities. We started weekly maintenance on this pool on 7/1/2011, and with the exception of some vacation time, the same technician serviced this pool the entire time, about 85 visits, using the same procedure each time. This technician has been with us for six years, and is a Certified Pool Operator. When we started service, the pool's vinyl liner was discolored and had wrinkles in it. We have since found out that this liner was installed in 2007. The pool developed a leak, and, since we do not repair liners, we suggested that the owner contact A Leak Solution to locate and fix the leak. They found and patched a tear at the bottom step. A few weeks later the pool started leaking again. We called A Leak Solution and asked them to go back. They found a new, second tear at the bottom step and patched it as well. Contrary to [member name removed] complaint, we did not replace his pump. On 2/24/12, we put a new shaft seal on his existing pump for a total charge of $101.23. We also diagnosed a problem with his salt chlorinator on 8/7/12 and determined it had a bad PC board. We quoted replacement, but he did not want it fixed. We terminated our work with [member name removed] on 3/11/13."
Could have just been a miscommunication but you never can tell these days. If the tech had broken something or installed something incorrectly, who's to know. Turned out ok so I guess I was lucky.
Overall experience was ok.
When a date was established to start the work, I explained to Chuck to drain the water behind my home where there was a open area, of which they did but they decided to drain the algae during the acid wash down the street of my neighborhood. I live in a gated community and this was totally unacceptable. When I got home that day, there was green algae flowing down the street. After receiving the first pool service, I explained to the technician that I noticed the water level was decreasing and it was not due to evaporation. He advised me that it could be one of the check valves and he would look at them the following visit. The following visit, this was not done and my water was continuing to decrease. It had now been two weeks since I had reported this issue to Dave and it had not been resolved; nor had anyone visited my home to look at it. My water level was continuing to decrease where I was losing about 3 inches a day.
I was under the assumption that checking the pool equipment, valves and etc..would be checked prior to filling a pool back up. After I kept getting the run around that someone was going to stop by my house and of course, no one showed up, I contacted another company for an equipment inspection. Per the inspection, the following was identified: 1) Leak at the water temperature sensor 2) Air leak pocket at suction side of pump and 3) Filter cartridge appeared to be used; not brand new.
I informed Chuck of these findings and that I would be canceling my pool service with his company. It appeared to be that his only concern was whether or not he was going to get paid. I am a business owner myself and if I knew I was losing a customer, I would want to clearly understand why my customer was dissatisfied and try to restore the relationship. I did not even receive an apology. I would never refer this company to anyone for pool service.
"As the owner of Horizon, I would like to respond to the complaint from [member name removed]. First, this was a foreclosure property, late April, 2012, the pool was only partially full and the water was black with sludge and algae on the walls. All of the pool equipment: pump, filter, and heater were removed. All of the travertine pavers around the pool had been removed, so there was just dirt and gravel around the pool. We quoted to drain, clean and refill the pool and to reinstall all of the missing equipment. Selected portions of our quote were accepted. We drained the pool for the cleanup on 5/22/12. We are not permitted to drain pools into municipal sewers, so the water was drained within the property on the grass and swale out front. We carried buckets of trash and debris from the property but the algae filled water was pumped onto the property. All of the equipment was installed from 5/21 through 5/29 and the pool was put back in service 5/25. We did not give any guarantees regarding possible pool leaks since that would have been impossible to do. In order to determine if a pool leaks, we need a clean, clear pool with a fully operational pump and filter. The system would need to run for several days to determine if there was a leak. Once the pool was filled and operational, it was determined that there was a leak somewhere. We tried, to no avail, to explain to [member name removed] that leak checks could not be done prior to filling. We tried to get authorization for an extensive leak check when [member name removed] cancelled the pool service. We have been in business for 28 years and have over 800 maintenance accounts. We do over $500,000 per year in pool repairs. This was an unusual situation and I never personally met with [member name removed] and I don't think she really understood the procedures we were following."
"I am a little confused at this report. The reason that the panels sat in the yard was the pool was under construction and there was not a big rush. Regarding the leak that they experienced on the roof, I went to the house several times to try and locate the leak. The customer let me inside the house to look up into the attic to locate the leak while running water down the roof. I was never able to locate any leak, I did, however reseal all the penetrations through the roof and asked the homeowner to call me if they still noticed any leaks. I never heard back from the customer. After I installed the solar system they asked if I would be able to come back out and move the pipes coming off the roof to allow for gutters. They gave me no time frame that this needed to be completed. I came out two weeks after and moved the pipes at no cost to the customer. Again this was after the job had been completed. We care greatly about custmer satifaction and do everything in our power to satifiy our customers, that is why we have been in business for over 28 years."
