they were supposed to check the system and clean it all out. Instead they told me I had a leak and it would cost $1500 to fix it.  They did not clean anything. Only applied something to where the leak was supposed to be.

Our old air conditioner was not working as it should, so we called Maintenance Plus to check it.  They came out and showed us what the problem was, and gave us a price to repair it.   They also gave us a price on a new system, and because our old system was already 15 years old and not energy efficient, we decided to replace it.   They came back the same afternoon and put in the new system.  It was all completed in one afternoon, and by evening our house was cool again.

I first used Maintenance Plus in 2004 for AC maintenance and was pleased with response time and prices. In 2011 decided to upgrade AC unit to bigger and more efficient model. They sold me a new unit for a decent price and had a 10 yr guarantee on Compressor and Motor. In 2012 the Compressor died (1 yr old unit) and they charged me $975.00 for shipping and handling on the new compressor. I had already checked with the supplier and a new Compressor was about $950.00 with free shipping. They ripped me off and didn't care that I was upset. I let them know I wouldn't be using them anymore. The tech's were very nice and professional but the management are Crooks ! BEWARE !

PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!  I started using them in Dec 2009, I stopped using this company back in the summer 2012, because my wife and I were looking for a new home and didn't know how long we would have the house. Then in Jan. 2013 I get A call saying they owe me another cleaning and do I want to set it up and I did.  So they send out 2 guys when they usually only send out 1..... The one guy goes outside and one goes in by the air handler. The older man then tells me that my unit is low on freon.....the unit was put in in 2006 when the house was built. He then said he would put dye in to find the leak.He then takes me outside to show me a leak in the coil near the condenser. He then said he has a Tech who he sent to school to fix these problems and it would cost me only $1500 instead of a new unit at $5000. After setting up the appointment for the repair for the next day they left. I spoke to my real estate agent, She said I should call someone in for a second opinion...So glad I did. I called Bay area a/c who came out that day and when I told the service man what the guys from Maintenance plus he said "how many guys came out"???? when I told him 2  this was before he looked at the unit he told me I was probably lied to.  The new Tech told me where the so called leak was before seeing the unit. There was no leak and the unit runs great like it did before. I see in other reviews this has happen before.

I had a very bad experience with them. In fact, I reported them to the BBB. They're trying to rip off people. They called my daughter, and told her that it's time to have her air conditioner cleaned. They came, and told her she needs a new one. They supposedly cleaned it. There was nothing wrong with the air conditioner. I had two other companies to look at it, and to give a second opinion. They both said there's nothing wrong with the air conditioner. Meanwhile, this company found lizards and insects. They were trying to rip her off. It was absolutely dreadful. They have a very bad reputation here.

I have no problems with them.  They put in a unit for me some years ago.  I've used them for almost fourteen or fifteen years.  I've used them since we've been here and I don't know whether we got their name from somebody else that had them.  They are outstanding and they do a good job.  I have nothing bad to say about them or nothing spectacular.  They've done what they are supposed to do.  I haven't compared the price as it’s been so long that I'm using them and they've been doing the same thing for the last ten or twelve years.  I haven't looked for price anywhere else.

Now, exactly 2 months later, (in Florida, July 4th weekend), three days ago I started turning the thermostat down, down and down again, till it is set at 70, and it is 85 in my house.  I was told at 10am today someone would be out sometime today. At 4:00, after the 3rd call, I was told the technician would call me shortly.  10 minutes later, the same person who installed the brand new unit showed up, tinkered around for 10 to 15 minutes,and then came in and told me "yeah, its broke.  Will anyone be home tomorrow?" This is a brand new ac unit, installed 2 months ago, and now "its broke". I am not pleased, have told the management company I rent my house from, and the owner of my house that I would choose a different AC company from now on.  I did not actually pay for these services, but the owner did, so the estimate is just a guess, but I certainly expect a brand new AC unit to last a little longer than 2 months.  And I really didn't expect to be told "yeah, its broke".  Since I and my 12 year old daughter have been up all night because its so hot, I think I could figure that out for myself.
