i stumbled onto their website while looking on craigslist...i use to live (for 13 years) about 15 miles away in the rural country community where schneider fence company is located, in walnut hill- the Schneiders are part of the large Mennonite community that primarily resides up that way, in northwest florida/alabama area- ive had many different services done by businesses owned by the Mennonites in the past, as well as knowning several friends from their community -all upstanding, honest, friendly and have ALWAYS provided good quaity, dependable services for me...anyway, i reviewed the positive comments from the many folks who they had built fences for in the past ...i looked at the pictures of their work and decided to give them an email to see about getting a fence built- royce schneider, the owner, emailed me back and we began phone contact in order to set up a time when he could come to my property, giving us a chance to talk about what exactly i was needing and what options he could provide in farm fencing- (NOT chainlink fencing)...he arrived in a timely fashion- we walked the property lines, talked about where i would want to connect the fences, position the gates, what length gates id need, what "size" fencing that id be needing, etc...royce was extremely polite, didnt rush me or pressure me, whatsoever- he left me with several segments of the different choices of fence sizes and a price list for my review- which was helpful- he gave me a detailed explanation of the high-quality materials that he would be using (posts, type of fence material), who would be building it and the heavy equipment that would be brought in to clear the brush and insert the round wooden posts (3 feet into the ground.)...royce told me that he would contact me again and wed decide on the type fence/gates and he would then provide me with a proposal....i felt very good about our first meeting...after a few days he contacted me (email, i believe) and he gave me two price proposals, based on two different options....i thought about it and made a decision....he sent me a detailed proposal agreement in the mail i signed it and mailed it back, along with my deposit...on the first day of work, i would give another portion of payment and on the completion of work, i would make the final balance of payment- i must say, after i had signed my contract i did request two changes to our agreement, which royce was able to re-figure the amount for....he was extremely accomodating to my needs and preferences....he said that it would probably be a 3 day job....after our agreement, there was about a 1 1/2 to 2 week period wait before they were able to get started on my job...i wasnt in a rush, so there was no problem with that...fortunately, the weather was clear, as rain would have been a negative factor and delayed the jobs start...royce gave me several days notice ahead of time, that he was looking to start work on tuesday..royce and his son, anthony, came over prior to starting the job to give it a final look to make sure of what and where the fence would be placed.....then, anthony and his partner showed up bright and early on tuesday morning, with all of their heavy equipment...it was hot, but the two worked tirelessly all day long...both young men were very polite and professional- they did there best to not make unnecessary tire marks across my property with the heavy equipment...i was very impressed...they left alot of their heavy equipment at my house overnite....they came back the next day (wednesday) and actually finished up the job around 5-6?pm...so, it was a 2 day job, enstead of a 3 day job!!....i cant remember anthonys partners name, but he was just as helpful and polite as i could ask....as they were cleaning up, readying to leave, his partner came back and did a minor modification to one of my posts to ensure that my greyhounds wouldnt be able to get through one of the gates...it may have been minor, but it was very important to me and i was appreciative of his attention to detail...i ABSOLUTELY love my farm fence....the gates are perfect...the fence lines are as straight as a pin...the significant brush was cleared nicely..the posts are sturdy and the barbed wire is on the top of the fence, not the bottom (as requested)...i just can not say how pleased i am with the price, the work and the fence.....i would hghly recommend SCHNEIDER FARM FENCE to anyone who needs to keep their animals contained safely and securely.... (im so happy!)
