In May of 2010, the roof of our electric room developed a leak, and, because of the very nature of the room, had to be repaired IMMEDIATELY. I no idea as to the severity of the leak, or how much the roof was in disrepair. All I knew is that the roof was VERY small ( about 4 feet square ).
I called Vero Beach Roofing, and they came right out. The gentleman told me it would be "about" $800.00 to repair the roof. I was under the gun, as something HAD to be done that day, and no other roofing company could make it out that day, so I signed the estimate.
The men came back and spent less than 15 minutes fixing the roof, and left a bill for $800.00. Even though I had agreed to the ESTIMATE, I never dreamed that the work would only take 15 minutes and cost $800.00! It seems strange that the estimate EXACTLY matched the final amount of the bill.
I wrote the company a letter imploring them to reconsider the charges because it just did not seem right to charge that much money for less than 15 minutes work. They would not budge.
I feel this company took advantage of the situation, and did not even consider working out a compromise. BAD business if you ask me.
