Terrible service and support. Last service requested was to spray weeds around the fence instead of the lawn. They sprayed the key lime tree, killed it and they replaced it. Cancelled service contract. Kept getting spam calls, kept a detailed log and sent it to the attorney at their main office. Calls have finally stopped.

Buyer Beware: I don’t normally write reviews one way or another. I am the type of customer that understands “things happen”. I first was recommended to TruGreen back in the beginning of December 2016 from my landscaper. I had recently replaced my entire front yard with new sod and discovered after the sod was installed that it came with chinch bugs. I called TruGreen when I came home from work one night at about 7pm. The customer service agent or salesman sold me the service right over the phone with some BASIC guarantees. #1… They always call 24 hours in advance to make sure we are aware they are coming because I have a newborn and was concerned with the chemicals being sprayed without my knowledge. #2 they would fix my lawn…..make it green again! #3 if I was ever unsatisfied I could call back in between services and request a respray. I agreed to the verbal contract (as we were on a recorded phone line) and was told someone would be in touch with me within the next 5 days to set up a service. You can imagine my surprise when I arrived home 3 days later with Trugreen flags on my front yard indicating that someone was there and sprayed. What happened to calling 24 hours in advance to let me know they were coming out?? I was aggravated because this is not what I was sold, but I never complained which is my fault. Two weeks later my wife calls me at work to tell me that Trugreen showed up with no notice and is now aerating my yard. Again, I was not called beforehand. Once again all I want is a GREEN YARD, so I again don’t complain. On the receipt that was left on the door it stated how to water the lawn and mow it. I showed this to my landscaper and he assured me that this is exactly how he mows; again he is the man who recommended me to Trugreen. I double checked my sprinkler system so that I was completely satisfied that my sprinkler was not over watering ( took the tuna can trick that they recommended). On the receipt, it was sated that I should see all weeds die and turn yellow within 3- 7 weeks. 9 weeks later I have the same awful looking lawn that I started with. I have already paid TruGreen approx. $250 by then. So if they come out every 2 months and you are not supposed to see improvements until 7 weeks, how are you supposed to call for a retreat?? I mean Trugreen is supposed to be the “experts”. Last week was the final straw. I came home from work on 1/30/17 and found a door tag from TruGreen. It was a door hanger to try and drum up some business. On it was a note from the “Area Manager” Steve who stated that my lawn was overgrowing with weeds and to please call him so we could discuss what his company could do for me. I called him and played dumb. I asked him if my lawn looked that bad. He stated that he would have never left a note if it didn’t. He then told me the same thing the original guy who sold me the plan did from the beginning with 24 hour call before arrival, ect…. After he was done with the sales pitch I told him that my yard was getting treated but never told him it was from his company, TruGreen. He told me that I should call up and FIRE the company that I am with because they are clearly not doing their job and taking my money. When I finally told him that it was TruGreen he couldn’t back track fast enough. He then stated he was so sorry for the service that I had been given. He told me to call him from now on and to not call corporate as he wanted to make sure that the ball didn’t get dropped. We ended the phone call with him putting in a customer concern ticket and he said that someone would be in contact with me about my issues. Once again imagine my surprise when my wife called me the next day to tell me that TruGreen was spraying my lawn again without calling 24 hours before like they supposedly do. I called the corporate headquarters the next day and spoke with Carl Crawford (sorry if I misspelled) and stated my whole issue. I told him that I didn’t have any faith in the company anymore and my lawn still looks just as bad as it did from day one. I told him I feel that Trugreen should give my money back as they are not providing the service that was explained to me on a recorded line. Again I told him either give me my money back or make my lawn green which I no longer have faith that this company can do. He told me that he wanted to save me as a customer and that someone from the branch level(possibly the GM) would be contacting me no later than 3 business days which was Friday 2/3/17 being the last day. Well, today is Monday 2/6/17 and still haven’t heard anything!! This is truly AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I just want what I PAID FOR!! Obviously after 3 times out and still not getting it right, this company never will. When I called to talk with someone I was told that they only can sell you a new service after hours but all complaints and issues with your account can only be discussed between Monday thru Friday 9-5pm. WOW!!! GREAT BUSINESS MODEL!!!! I will be looking for a smaller company that actually values my business. I also have been told that because of my experience my landscaper will not be recommending TruGreen anymore because of the POOR SERVICE!! As I stated at the beginning I never write reviews but in this case I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have. To top it all off I should have done the research from the beginning, their reviews are awful and I’m sure they don’t even tell the full story!! I will be posting this review on EVERY REVIEW WEBSITE that there is and will be contacting the local news. I don’t want anyone else to be SCAMMED like I was! Josh (Tequesta, Florida)

We used tru green for a while, their treatments to get rid of bugs and weeds didn?t seem to work. When I called them to come back for additional spraying, they never showed up. In their add, they promise if you?re not satisfied they?ll come back out. They left a card on our lawn saying we've changed and improved, and asking us to try using them again, so maybe things are better now?

Poorly.  They miss appointments.  Since they use liquid fertilizer most of the time it does not last that long, consequently my lawn has a yellow cast to it for weeks waiting for it's next feeding.  Had the lawn aerated today, they did less than 10% of a normal aeration job.  I am constantly calling them, NEVER can get the Palm Beach Office, always re-directed across the US.  Terrible, terrible, service.  Will NEVER use this Company again, unless it was FREE!

They Bait, Switch, Upsale, Deceive, Double your bills and ask to do it again!
I try very hard to give businesses an opportunity to do a good job. TRUGREEN AT BEST IS A BUSINESS WAITING TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS.  Last year I tried to use them and on both occasions they supposedly came and did some work when I was not there.only after I specifically requested to be present so I could simply know what they were doing. I was merely curious and wanted to be educated. Nope they snuck in and I had a bill for more than what they had discussed.
This year their (up) salesman convinced me to give them another opportunity because he so wanted my business.
UGH!
These people are slick.  They come to your yard (I honestly believe they wait until you leave home) and find "something else" that will cause the total destruction of your property and then treat it without asking first.  The a few days later you get a bill with this extra charge.
The one time someone showed up when I was home I just happened to be getting my mail outside.  I said hello and the guy just looked at me and said "what's your problem?" No "hello"  I was startled.  I cannot make this up.  He was appparently upset to be working or something.  I just sent him away.   His "boss" responded some time later with all the platitudes and sunshine saying that particular guy has had some issues etc.  So I try to give them another chance.
Once again they showed up when I was not home and "found" something else so horrific that needed to be done immediately without asking first.  I purposefully had another company take care of this specific issue already to see what TRUGREEN would do.  They took the bait, saw a ghost in my grass, and treated my yard for it and doubled the agreed upon billing.
Never again.  I called them and asked to be removed from their rolodex and to never approach my property or telephone line again. The girl could not have cared less. Seems her job is the cancellation lady.
Regardless, TRUGREEN has had seven opportunities to get things right on my property.  Shame on me for trying to trust them and waiting to see if they would actually do one thing they said they would.  THEY DID NOT DO ONE THING AS ADVERTISED OR AGREED UPON.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THIS COMPANY - WATCH THEM LIKE A HAWK! OR BETTER YET, DON'T USE THEM!
Shady business model at best.

In retrospect I should have been wary of their offers since TruGreen was more interested in Uncle Sams Green than my lawn.  We were just moving in when the TruGreen salesman came up to me and asked if I would be interested in lawn care - I was and he then started on payment plans - pay up front for a years treatments for a discount, blah blah.  He called back the next day and asked if I was still interested - I said yes and then he placed me on hold while he figured out my offer - more talk about money and little talk about what treatments would do and what I would have to do.  I came home a couple of days later and there was a sign saying that TruGreen applied a treatment. Then there was a second treatment, but in the mean time I had fenced in my back yard and he called and I told him to do front and he could do back at a later time.  No offer to come back and no discount for half a treatment.  The next thing I knew I was being charged 69.00 for treating my one bush and still no feed back from Tru Green as to what I should be doing to help rejuvenate the lawn.  I cancelled the service, but could not get them to rescind the bush treatment.  I would never use or recommend them to anyone even my worst enemy.  More worried about their pocketbook than my lawn.

I'd do better just doing it myself.  It just didn't go very well.  I don't think they even did it half a time.  I felt like I've wasted my money.  I just didn't feel like everybody really spent the time that needed to be spent.  They just hit and messed.  They would say that they were on beat.  We got a phone call and they would say that they would be here tomorrow but nobody showed up.

I knew that they came but there was nothing really noticeable.  It is my wife who knows everything.

My wife said to give them another shot after they kept on calling.

Would not recommend. Service was not consistent due to employees being on vacation. Lawn looked worse after six months of their service.

Sent different technician most of the time
Technicians were very professional and courteous. Genuinely wanted customers to be happy.
Never provided services paid for unless I was there to supervise. In other words the sold me something they never intended to provide. My Nephew worked for them in a different state as a sales rep and told me he left the company for the same reason. Local management is not present. Would not call and did not provide adequate instructions for technicians to even know what they were to bring with them to do our service. Tried to work through this with Them and kept service for more than a year. Stay away from this company! You are wasting your money and time.

We used them for about 20 years. We had sod laid and they came out and treated it. We watched it die. I called many times and spoke with a manager  and countless workers. I was assured it would come back,,,it didn't. They blamed the sod and the sod company blamed them. In other works we were left helpless after paying lots of money. Tru Green continued to bill us all through the treatments. We also had shrubs and plants put in. Same thing happened. We were treated very poorly. I must add my husband and I almost never complain and try to give everyone a chance to make things right. This was  big mistake with Tru Green.

I had asked to speak to the tech when he came out.  They told me he would be here at 7 am.  I waited until 8:15.  According to his receipt he was here at 8:22.  They charged me for a service that  did not need.  When I called, they contradicted themselves by saying that I was charged for cinch bug yet that is part of my everyday treatment.  They charged me for fire ants and I do not have any.  I asked to speak to the supervisor and he did not call me until Saturday.  The fact that they can charge without my permission considering they have my credit card is dishonest.

The lawn service was good, nothing special but the tree service was terrible and dishonest.
They were priced well but you get what you pay for. I have a nice property with lots of high value palm trees. They could not be bothered to look at them when doing service. They were just in and out as quick as possible and if a tree died then so be it. Several palms were boron deficient and I could not even get them to swing by and look at them for me. I had my landscaper diagnose and treat them. 1 palm died of an insect infestation which they never notice till the tree fell over.
All they cared about was selling white fly treatment. The constant up sell was annoying. They told me unless I use their expensive treatment all my trees would die. They wanted over $4,000 to treat my property. I went to the local nursery and took their advice. I treated my entire property successfully for a couple 100 dollars instead. Although my property is white fly free (and I inspect it weekly) I continued to receive notices that I must get their treatment or all my trees would die.

Long story short, I am still fighting for the money I put out to repair the lawn. I called them several times in December thru Febuary and never had a response back until I stopped paying my bill, then collections called me once a month.
They even missed appointments for weed control and I payed for tree services and that was never done.
I used them because they are suppose to be systematicly streamlined and have all of the variables ironed out but apparently the local office manager has no clue of managment operations and customer service.

The lawn looked worse a year after the service than the day they started. I realized I can do a better job at it myself.
