A different Tech named Doug came out 2 days later because I called worried about it leaking again. Doug was very nice and Professional and fixed a small hole that needed repaired. He arrived earlier than the time span they gave me. He explained that due to the hot weather, there was a lot of condensation that was on outside of A/C which causes system to drip. He was finished and done in a timely manner and was very friendly with conversation while here. THANK YOU DOUG for your services. I will write a separate Review for the first Tech that came out that was very Kind and professional also.

They broke one of the joints on the air conditioner, and refused to accept the blame. They said they didn't fix that sort of thing, and that I would need to find someone else to fix it. I had to call a handyman to fix it, on top of paying $500 more than I was originally told I was supposed to.

I recently called Star Quality when my air conditioning system suddenly stopped working. After speaking to a representative, I was told that I would be receiving a call when the next available service tech was in route to my home. I was given a time frame of arrival, which was very accurate. I also received a phone call from Star Quality's office, letting me know that the technician was on his way. I appreciated this simple call, letting me know when to expect someone at my home.
When the technician arrived, he was on time, friendly, and ready to get my system running again. After diagnosing the system, the technician was immediately on the phone with his office relaying the part information,to check warranty on the TXV valve. I was informed of all the costs, when ordering a part out of warranty, and what needed to be performed in order to complete the job. I was contacted, immediately, after the arrival of my part to their local office and able to schedule, with a representative, for the following day. The same, well-qualified, technician came back to my home to install the valve in my outside unit. He was able to install the part, charge my system with refrigerant, and test all the functions of my system in a reasonable time frame.
Although, I desired my air conditioning system to be working properly the same day, I was informed of every step that Star Quality took and feel that the company understood the importance of having my central air system working. The part was out of warranty, and needed to be shipped from out of state. This was also executed in a timely manner.
I have recommended Star Quality to my neighbors and friends, in the area, and will continue to share my experience of using Star Quality Air Conditioning. I have, since my service repair, contacted their office to schedule an annual preventative maintenance. I was given a discount for scheduling online and contacted the same day of placing the request for maintenance. I am very happy with the work performed at my home. I feel that the cost was fair, the technician and representative I dealt with
were very professional, and am overall pleased about my decision to call them.

Noah from Star Quality came out and provided a quote the same day as the call.

When I contacted them to do the work, they set up the appointment, they arrived as scheduled, and Amanda called me letting me know they were on their way. They replaced the insulation, answered my questions and addressed my concerns. Stated if I had any issues to just let them know.

They were very professional and I would recommend them.

.They said we needed new wiring, a new TVX valve and coil. We were charged $900 for the complete job, most of which was labor since all parts were still under warranty. However, today, six months later when the system failed to cool again, we hired a new HVAC company and found out that what had been our problem al along was a simple corroded liquid drier (attached outside by the compressor) that was almost completely blocking freon from reaching the compressor unit.

A check for $357 fixed the problem, most of which consisted of parts, and took no more than 45 minutes of labor to perform. Frankly, we feel that Start Quality's lack of knowledge and professionalism has cost us considerably. I would under no circumstances recommend them to anyone. Hire them at your own risk.

Categorically untrue. I wouldn't trust anything tis company said. Clearly, they are trying to cover up their unprofessionalism. After all, what would you say if your diagnosis was questioned by a concerned customer who found the ultimate problem to be so simple any layman could have understood it. No, my review is about as clear, accurate, and without discrimination or malice as one can get.

"The above review is an altered review from a previous positive rating so we will address the situation in its entirety. We received the first call for service in September of 2013 from the homeowner stating he was upset with the company that installed his system, that he was not happy with their pricing and that he has had multiple issues with his system since installation and didn’t want to use that company anymore. We scheduled service, confirmed the diagnosis that the previous company had found (replace TXV, coil, and wiring repair), and quoted a price. The homeowner was happy with the quoted repair and price, work was performed, and he left our company a positive review on Angie’s List. On Saturday, March 22, 2014 we received another call for service. An appointment was arranged with the on-call technician for Monday as he stated he could wait until Monday for service. On Monday morning, our technician arrived to perform a diagnosis and as the technician was explaining the issues to the homeowner, he quickly became rude and made very direct and personal discriminatory comments to the technician. The service manager then made a call to the homeowner to discuss the diagnosis, warranty status of the parts, and pricing and he was again very rude. He stated that he wasn’t going to pay our quoted price and that if we did not lower the price or warranty the work for free then he would leave us negative reviews on Angie’s List. The service manager explained to him that the parts were not under manufacturer warranty (per the manufacturer) and that our price included all labor, parts, miscellaneous materials and is a flat rate price based on national averages in our industry and that our price was reasonable and fair. At this point, when the service manager continued to be threatened with a poor online review if we did not lower the price, he apologized to the homeowner for his inconveniences, explained that we would not be charging him anything for the service call, labor, and materials used so far on the service call and said that he should use another company for his repairs. After all this occurred, it was brought to our attention via the above posted review that he disagrees with our diagnosis. We firmly stand behind our original diagnosis performed in September 2013 and would have been more than happy to address and re-evaluate the current diagnosis had he been willing to cooperate. However, the homeowner was rude and began threatening poor online reviews well before we suggested he call another company and before he had any reason to believe our diagnosis was incorrect; therefore, we did not have the opportunity to discuss that matter."

They replaced a part that should have been replaced the week before when they were there. They wanted to charge me twice for the same problem they came out twice to fix. They didn't turn up when they were supposed on two different occasions. They should have checked further into the problem the first time instead of charging me twice for the same problem.

They installed the circuit boad without too much trouble but by the time they got to the pool heater they were too hungry to want to look at it. They said they really didn't know enough about pool heaters. I wish they would have told me this before they even came over. The pool heater is old, but I would have liked to have known in advance that they really were not pool heater specialists.
In addition, I did not get a receipt. They said I could call thier office and one would be emailed. I still don't have a receipt.
The circuit board work went well and the unit works fine. They are much cheaper than other companies. I would use them again but I would make it clear what I expected them to do.

While getting inspection for Window installation in March we were given a notice that we were out of compliance for not pulling a required permit for new A/C unit, by the city.We contacted city they stated to contact installer because it is their responsibility to pull permit before starting work.
Contact Star and they said that it was our job as homeowner to get the permit. I stated that it was not told to us that we needed it or I would have made sure it was done and I would be willing to pay the original permit fee but that the fine and any work needing to be done to bring to code would be their responsibility since they should have informed at they time of the original install.
I also had to pay an electrician to change breaker because Star charged me for a 10kw heater and only installed a 5kw. They stated that it was because my breaker was not the right size when they installed so instead of asking me at the time if I wanted to change breaker they put in smaller unit.
In the end I paid permit fee and for the larger breaker and they did all necessary upgrades because code restrictions had changed since original install. They took care of everything I asked them to in the end but could have avoided extra work by communicating better to start off with.

The tech said that there seemed to be a leak in the system and it needed to be recharged for the short term and replaced because it could die at any time. cause it could die at any time. He said we might still be under warranty and if so it could save us $4-5,000. He said he would check when he got back to the office and call us. We paid him for the service and recharge.The following week the tech called and told us the warranty had expired and he would get us a price for a replacement unit.As of today, 24 days after the service, the system is still running but we never received a price quote.In between since we were looking at such an expensive purchase we decided to get a second opinion and had another company look at the unit. The first question that was asked was did we have a leak check done to verify we in fact had a leak? We said no. We then scheduled a leak test with this other company. They spent 45 minutes today checking for a leak and did not find one. Their tech checked the Freon level and said after this much time if there was a leak the level should be low but in fact it wasn't. He felt there was no reason to get a new unit.

They were fine and my experience with them was good. I called them and they contacted me within half an hour on a Sunday night. They said that they would have my air conditioner replaced in the next morning since it wasn’t working. It was partially under warranty. I then arranged to have them here and replace it. I also got a two year service warranty from them. The price wasn’t great but was average. The service was good for what I got. It was better than someone else who I had called. I think I would have got a better price if I had shopped more. The quality of their work was average. I would use their services in the future too since I have a service contract with them.
