The old tile was removed from both balconies and carried away. Installation of the new exterior (sanded) tile to match the interior tile began. It was discovered that the existing (original) bedding sub floor of both balconies was very uneven. The original "mud bed" had to be removed and a new "mud bed" had to be installed. This caused an unexpected delay, and unexpected additional expenses before the tile could be installed. Epoxy grout was used on the new exterior tile, and very small grout lines were used to limit future water penetration into the bedding material. The work was again done with no tracks left in the carpet, and no cleaning smears on the new tile. The Condo is on the 3rd floor, and Indian River Flooring did an exceptional job dealing with old tile, mud bed demo and re-install, and installation of the new tile. The floor looks very much like it is one piece of tile!

We selected a 20" porcelain tile to reduce the visual grout lines of the original floor, and to "hide" chips in the new floor via the "through the tile color" of the new tile. We requested an extra box of tile from the same lot so that we could have backup tile for future problems. The master bathroom was across a light colored carpet in the living room and bedroom. Tile removal was extremely clean, with all most no dust left on the furniture. Removal of the master bathroom tile was also very neat, with NO tracking marks across the carpet. The new tile installation was done quickly and with damage to only 1 molding strip as it was removed from the wall. In all fairness, the molding had been in place @ 13 years. The new floors were cleaned following the grout work, and no dust/cleaning smears were left on the new tile. The estimate included moving appliances (stove, refrigerator, washer dryer, and 2 toilets) and re connecting them.
