Burnett Painting

Not well. First we had delayed scheduling. Then we had one painter show up who communicated to the owners it was not possible to do the job in the 40 hours they allotted. His opinion was that a lot of prep needed to be done. Evidently this opinion was not considered as caulking was not completed, adequate cleaning was not done, and needed sanding was not done. Client had arguments with owners about people not showing up one day. Owner said it was due to rain. Rain was only a few hours in the morning of an otherwise sunny and hot day. The weather forecast had not changed from the day before when client was told 2 painters would be coming. No one came that day. Client decided it best to make amends and try to just get the job done. Then 4 painters showed up. Owner said job would be completed that day. Client was suspicious of this. It was not completed. Observed work was sloppy with some areas still showing bare wood after 2 coats, paint on hinges, weather stripping not removed to paint doors, paint on screen. When client pointed out paint brush streak on new screen, was told by owner that it was indeed paint. No offer to assist with removing was made. Client spent an hour trying to remove with alcohol. Painters did not help in any way. Faint brush mark is still present. The job was not completed. The next day 3 painters came and the same lack of attention to detail was observed. Trash was left on site and an uncleaned roller was left on lanai. The job was not finished. When client told owner that there was an extensive punch list, owner came and reviewed. At each item pointed out, owner was dismissive and behaved as if no problem could be seem. Owner put accompanying employee on the spot asking if he saw any problems. Client disagreed with owner's assessment. Owner told employee to discontinue interior work and walked off job. When client told owner that relative also had quality issues, response was "birds of a feather." Attached are photos of inadequate paint coverage, paint on hinges, post not sanded, and peeling starting. Clients hired based on representations of experience in prepping old houses. Owner also said warranty was 2 years for a non-stucco substrate. Website says Benjamin Moore has 9 years for type of paint used. Clients have filed a complaint with local BBB. First attempt to contact Burnett failed as incorrect address is listed. 67372573

Everything went really well.  They were all professional, they provided helpful advice with respect to colors, and they were always punctual.

Jennifer and Kurt are new to the Venice Florida area, but have painted in the Boston Area for years under Kurt Dwyer Painting, with nothing but positive reviews. They were excellent.  I liked the skill of the painters and interior trimming things.

Jennifer came in and gave us a full quote. She offered a few different options as we thought we might do a pattern and weren't sure if we wanted to paint our laundry closet. She was super helpful and answered all of my questions. It took quite awhile to get on their schedule, I'm talking months, but it was worth the wait as the paint job is flawless. Our painter even questioned the original color that was chosen for the vanity as it wasn't looking quite right and we were able to switch it out before he got too far, which was much appreciated! Overall I was completely satisfied with the work, would definitely recommend them and would certainly work with them again.

They were professional, courteous and prompt. They completed the work in 2-3 days. They did a high quality job. I have had so many people comment on the color and how great my house looks after it was painted.

they said it would take approx. 4 days with 4 men and in actuality it took 5 which was not problem as one of the rooms required quite a bit of prep work as the ceiling and one wall need scraping , repairing, etc.  All came out well.  They were prompt when we requested the estimate.  Jennifer came and helped me with color selection had large samples of paint colors for me to see.  the crew did great work and cleaned up well after each day.  I would definitely call them again and would recommend them to all.

This was perhaps the smoothest contractor experience we've had in a long time.  Their communication was fantastic, keeping us abreast of the process as the date grew closer.  They were even able to pull the job in by a couple of weeks thanks to some shifts in schedules! 

The team showed up on time every day, and they were polite and professional throughout.  After the first day, we decided we didn't like the color (completely our decision and in no way an indication of the job KDP was doing).  Kurt and Jen were very understanding and flexible, and we were able to work out an arrangement that was fair to both parties and keep the job on schedule.

But most importantly...the house came out fantastic!!!!!  We've received nothing but glowing reviews from our family and our neighbors!  We could not have asked for a better experience.

We purchased  a house with approximately 3000 sq of living space. Almost every room needed to be painted. We got multiple estimates and selected Kurt Dwyer. We were very happy with the decision. They provided a very detailed estimate, which we really appreciated. We felt that the price was very reasonable and it included paint, which we liked. They showed up with their crew and completed the job on time so that we could move in. The crew was friendly and nice to have around. When he wasn't here,Kurt seemed to keep pretty good track of what they were doing. One bathroom had multiple layers of old wallpaper that had to be removed. I didn't envy the guy that had to do that job. The number of layers was not known in advance so that affected the price but it was made clear on the estimate that it was a potential issue so it wasn't a surprise. The other thing that affected the ultimate price was that one color we selected took three coats to cover versus two. Having painted with darker paint in the past, we understood that issue.  One small conflict that we had was over floor protection for the high traffic areas. I talked with Jennifer and we got that resolved. I have hired lots of people over the years and I can honestly say that this is a great company to hire.. They are ethical, conscientious, and pleasant. I have recommended them a couple times since finishing our job and if I have any paint jobs in the future, I plan to hire them.

The painters were on time, cleaned up each day and were very professional.

I contracted Kurt Dwyer Painting to paint exterior of my residence. Prompt response to request for quote, onsite visit to estimate work. They provided a detailed, fairly priced quote with photos (wall by wall with Level of Effort and materials cost for each). Good subsequent follow up communications and scheduling. Crew (2 - 4 painters) was on time, very pleasant, reliable, did thorough work, cleaned up after each day, and always left site tidy. Work included power wash of all surfaces, prep, prime where needed and application of finish coat (spray or brush) and some trim touchup where needed. The finished job was as expected and business owner did final walkthrough with me to ensure nothing was missed. I was pleased with the work. I would definitely use Kurt Dwyer Painting again for future work and recommend them to others based upon this positive experience.

The work came out great!!  The whole Kurt Dwyer crew was very professional and a pleasure to work with.  I got a very detailed estimate with pictures and a breakdown on how long the project would take.  I had a very tight schedule and the work was completed on time and extremely clean.  

After the work was completed I received a follow up phone call  checking in to making sure I was satisfied with the work.  Extremely satisfied!!

I have more work to be done in the near future and looking forward to working with Kurt Dwyer again.

Excellent service.  Came in and started right away.  Prepared the walls and ceilings, strip wall paper in one bathroom.  Painted the ceilings, walls.  The workers were very professional and cleaned up every day.  We certainly will keep this firm on our call list.

From a homeowner's perspective, this went the way you want all contractor jobs to go.  There were no surprises, communication was excellent, and most importantly both houses got a high-quality facelift.  From prep work, to careful work throughout the painting process, to exemplary clean-up after each day's work, we could not be more pleased.  I would be very confident in referring KDP to any homeowner.

The entire experience working with Jenn and Kurt and their crew was marvelous. They brought in a crew of 4 to 5 guys each day to get a very large job done in one week. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to friends.

Very nice job, and they showed flexibility in handling the job, as logistics were affected by flight delays. Timely completion, delivered the work at the cost they quoted, and submitted a nice proposal. Returned to complete a few touch ups as well. Would recommend Kurt Dwyer very highly.
