I would definitely NOT recommend Tony Saladino with Salco Screens and his team. I needed a screen enclosure that should have taken 3 days max. They do not communicate at all, and the crew didn't even review the blueprints, so an error was made on the first day. The project started 5 days late and when the crew finally started the job they left after only 2 hours. This continued throughout the 9 business days that it took. I repeatedly asked for a schedule and was never told what day or time the crew would be working. They missed two days completely that they promised to be at my home. On most days they started at 10:30 and worked until 3:00. It was very frustrating. Basically, just wait and see every day. I have dogs and need to know when people will be on my property. When I asked for consistency to get the job completed and reasons why it was taking so long, I was told it was weather related. We had all nice days except for two and even on those two colder days, my other electrical contractors showed up and worked. All their ladders and supplies were laying around my property for 13 calendar days. That is unacceptable to me. It should have taken only 3 days. [email protected]

Buyer Beware....!!! Contracted with them to do a hard roof on my lanai, had a few concerns with some leaks in both the inside and gutters before I gave my last payment and got talked into giving it to them anyway. Now I've tried to get them back out for 3 months and nothing. I've still got the leaks, things are getting mildewed with all the rain we've had and I'm going to have to hire another company to repair what should be under warranty. I cannot recommend at all...

We got an estimate form the representative. I decided that I want to make the deal (without consulting my husband) and I paid a 25% deposit on the spot. My husband was not okay with the deal I made and in top of that the association did not get back to me with an answer about the modification. I called to cancel the contract and they got upset with me. they said they already paid an architect/engineer to design the modification and if I want a refund they will deduct $250.00 the amount they paid the architect. they refunded the deposit minus the penalty amount mentioned. they never provide any proof that they paid anybody for any work on our behalf. on the paper I signed, there is no mention about penalties of canceling or no full refund if you change your mind. we ask them several times to refund the amount of $250.00 but they refused. I don't think it is fair to be charged for services you did not received. Buyers out there, please be aware when making deals with this company.

They refused to refund $250, claiming it was for "engineering" work, although they did nothing for us and we saw nothing in exchange for the $250 they kept.
Response from Salco Screens
"We are sorry to hear that Mr. & Mrs. [Member Name Removed] are unhappy. Salco Screens take pride in our service and reputation. On 8/23/16, Mrs. [Member Name Removed] contacted Salco Screens to provide an estimate for a screen room at her residence. On 8/25/16, we met with Mrs. [Member Name Removed], provided the estimate and at that time Mrs. [Member Name Removed] decided to sign a contract (which is a legal binding contract), move forward with the project and paid a 25% deposit of $1,342 dated 8/25/16. It was explained to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] that we would be moving forward with the engineering and permitting process to faster expedite her project. On 8/30/16, we received an email from Mrs. [Member Name Removed] requesting that we put a hold on her project due to a conversation she had with her husband. We replied back via email on 8/30/16 stating that we already started working on her project and have incurred engineering expenses. On 8/31/16, we received another email from Mrs. [Member Name Removed] requesting to cancel her entire project. On 9/1/16, Salco Screens emailed back stating that we would be happy to refund her deposit less $250 for engineering expenses that were already incurred as well as release them from their legal contract for this project. On 09/13/2016, we sent her refund check via certified mailed for the amount of $1,092 and thought this was a fair and reasonable solution and that all parties were satisfied with this outcome. Approximately 30 days later on 10/12/16 we received an email from [Member Name Removed] and Mariana [Member Name Removed] stating that they felt they received an incomplete refund. We also would like to point out that this is the first time Mr. [Member Name Removed] engaged in any kind of communication with Salco Screens. So we again explained our reasoning why they received the deposit amount less the $250 for the expenses Salco Screens paid out for the engineering. We never had the privilege of meeting wit [Member Name Removed] and all of our business dealings were with Mrs. [Member Name Removed]. It is important to know that the scope of work never changed, (1) day the project is on, (5) days later its a hold, (2) days later cancelled. We will be happy to provide receipts, emails and a time log of hours spent on this project. We find it very difficult for our company to absorb the $250 spent on the [Member Name Removed]'s engineering because the [Member Name Removed]'s decided to cancel their project. We did not, and will not charge the [Member Name Removed]' any additional fees for cancelling the project. Please see below for specific wording on Salco Screens contract which was signed by Mrs. [Member Name Removed]. DEFAULT: In the event the owner shall fail to make any payment when the same is due, or any part thereof, or fail to perform fully and promptly any covenant or agreement herein set forth, they will pay to SALCO SCREENS, it successors or assigns, all costs and expense the said SALCO SCREENS, or its successors or assigns may thereby be put to, including a reasonable attorney fee. If the owners shall become bankrupt or be put into receivership, or fail to make any payment when due, or fail to perform any covenant herein contained, all sums then unpaid shall become due and payable upon written notice thereof by SALCO SCREENS, its successors or assigns. THIS AGREEMENT shall be binding upon the heirs, administrators, executors, successors and assigns of the owners."

Always outstanding work.  Fair prices.
There was a time during the summer they were on a large job in Orlando I think it was and they were not able to help me at that time.  That was understandable.   They are still who I call first.  Very knowledgeable, caring, not sure what more you can ask for.

The screen company owner's son took the paperwork down on my estimate, and he was not prepared to collect a deposit at that time. He told me he had another job and did screenwork only part time.   Tony, the owner, previously stated he tried and tied and couldn't catch me at home to collect  deposit.  I would have been fine paying it when I got the written estimate, which his son was not prepared to give.  So Tony wanted me to be at home in the mornings but I had a lot going on that week (I work at USCENTCOM at MacDill AFB) and told him I could meet him after 4pm, but he couldn't do it. So it's flat out false when he said he tried and tried to catch me at home, and it was I who didn't get anything in writing until after the job was done.  Also, they started the job a day early and ended  a day late--with Tony demonstrating a very unprofessional attitude. He acted like starting early was a good thing. For who?  Starting early was bad because I needed to be home and take care of my dogs.  It's unreasonable for anyone to just show up at someone's house, with no prior coordination, no permission, with no one home, and start working on their lanai.  I had arranged to take Friday (start day) off and I was to be home each day but they showed on Thursday and began work.  They were supposed to finish Sunday. Well, they didn't show all weekend as they had agreed.  On Friday they called that morning to tell me they'd not be there that day until late.  Tony's son was a nice guy but work he did was terrible...some of the panels were crooked and ripply, but no one said a word about it until I did. Next, I had an appointment...a job interview on the following Monday, which was why I needed them finished and gone on Sunday--as agreed.  But Tony flat out told me he had a bigger, more important customer and said when they call, he jumps. So making any deals with this guy at Salco doesn't mean a thing--he is not a man of his word by any means. He will apparently leave you stuck if a bigger job shows up last minute, finishing your job when the want to.  So I had to change my interview appointment last minute.  I'll add on one of the days they were at my house, I came home to find his son's wife (or girlfriend) just sitting there on my lanai and I guess enjoying the day away.  And here Tony acted like I was the one who was hard to get along with because I took issue with them not being there when they said the would, and they were there at other times without any notice, doing shoddy work at that. Tony also had commented that my backyard neighbor had no problems...yes, the one he is personal friends with from way back according to her.  My other neighbor used Salco a couple times, until he left them stranded too,  They have an "A" review here and an "F" review that followed, apparently for the same types of issues.  Save yourself the headache...don't use this company.

We have used this company numerous times in the past (all different issues). So we emailed them asking to be put on the list to get the screen fixed. We got a quick response and they were out the next week to fix. As they were fixing the panel that blown out in a storm, he also pointed out a few other panels that might go soon too. He recommended that we wait till the end of the summer to fix those, incase we get some more storms. Since they were not completely coming off we decided to wait with the other areas. We really appreciate his suggestions and not trying to add extra unnecessary costs on.
