"I am sorry that you feel this way. Our intention at Mr. Handyman is to service our community with respect and honesty . We fully encourage all employees to be transparent with our customers. There may have been a miscommunication due to you not being on site to discuss in person. Our customer service representatives try their best to give a realistic price for all projects over the phone- sight unseen. They do make every customer aware that the technician will give a hard number once they are able to see the job whenever there are questions remaining. We never start the job until the customer agrees and signs the estimate. We did send you an estimate that clearly states our terms for the job ,one of which that states the estimate is for labor only in all capital letters. The estimate was signed. This would be far from us being dishonest, unethical, and questionable practices. We recommend that all our customers read the estimate in full as we discuss the full job with them. The estimate is a contract between us and the customer to protect the customer just as it does us . This contract is to ensure the customer that we complete every part of the project that we agree to with full satisfaction. This contract also locks us into a 1 yr warranty on the work completed. We completed everything stated in your estimate . We informed you that we could not repair the window and recommended window company that specializes in windows and has all parts readily available. We repaired all the problematic areas around the window as described and agreed in the estimate. Once you called us back to complete the drywall work, we were prompt and did an excellent job for you. At which time you were happy with the work. I do apologize that you signed the estimate without the understanding that material was not included. Unfortunately, materials are not free. Your property is your investment and the cost of the material to maintain it do cost money as well. We wish you the very best in your future repairs!"

When Bill called into Mr. Handyman we explained that we collect payment daily as that is our typical procedure and we tell every customer the same thing. We also explained that the quote was an estimate and that sometimes there are factors that come into play when doing this line of work and the estimate may end up being slightly less or slightly more. All of our calls are recorded and I personally listen in when a customer is concerned to make sure that the basics were covered and to understand the big picture. The cuts were very intricate with the tile that was selected, we can agree on that. Our technicians are craftsmen with 20 - 40 years of experience and make sure that the job is done correctly. As far the countertop, we always take before and after pictures on every property that we work on to avoid situations like this and it's very clear in the before picture that there was a crack in the back right corner of the countertop pressed against the stove.
