Waited almost a month for them to get parts to repair the water dispenser on my fridge. Once they got the parts, they called all of the sudden saying they're on their way in 20 minutes. No curtesy appointment in advance for me to prepare for them. Their technician was rude. No respect to customers. Even insulted me on his way out.

Yes, I recommend this pro
We ended up buying a service plan from him at the time. We were having problems with the ice maker and it would not switch back to cubes from crushed ice. He remounted the solenoid and replaced the mounting screws. It went very well. There was no problems at all. It seems to me that they were pretty responsive. They showed up when they said they were going to.

It went horrible. The guy that schedules the appointments is extremely rude, the employees are useless and not knowledgeable at all. They call and make an appointment for you the evening before and if you're not available to take off work, they can't schedule you again until the following week. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE USELESS!

We purchased our dryer from Home Depot and purchased the extended warranty.  The dryer stopped working and we called the warranty company on December 10th.  They said they contacted the local repair shop in our area (Mel's appliances) and that they would be out there on Monday December 15th.  On Friday Dec 12th, I get a call from Mel's saying they just got notified of the service request and so they wouldn't be able to come out until Wed Dec 17th.  A tech came out on Wednesday, spent 2 minutes with our dryer, and declared that the timer and knob were broken AND there was no electricity to our dryer.  We could not believe that all those things happened at once and the tech could not speak English well enough to explain.  The tech indicated the parts would be ordered and that they would come back out.  Three weeks later, we called them to request an update of where the parts were.  We did not receive any call back.  So we called the warranty company who called them and said that the parts should be there that day and that they would call us to schedule to come out.  A week later with no call we called the warranty company back, got the same answer (part will be here today, yada yada).  Week 5 comes and we beg the warranty company to get us a new appliance company.  They say they can't because the repair had already begun.  They said "Give them until Friday" and this was Monday.  On Friday, Mel's calls and said they had the parts in and that they would come out that Monday Jan 19th to install them.  Same tech comes out, installs the parts, dryer still doesn't work.  Says no power to dryer and not his problem.  My husband tries to get him to do more diagnostics but he's sure he is right.  We paid 259.00 for an electrician to come out who discovers there is no electrical problem - it is getting power just fine.  He puts in a larger breaker just so our money would actually go towards something.  We call the warranty company and get a supervisor.  We tell him he needs to send out a new company.  New company comes out and discovers that the timer installed was BROKEN.  He puts our OLD timer back in and the dryer starts up fine.  So the only issue was a broken knob.  This company has many other reviews JUST LIKE THIS when you google them.  I will never get a warranty from Home Depot if they are going to continue to use Mel's Appliances.

After two weeks we called to see if the belt had come in yet. Actually we called several times. First time they told us that they expected the belt in the next couple of days and would call and make arrangements to install it. One week later we called and they said they were checking to see if it was in the delivery they had gotten that day and they would call to make arrangements to install it. A few days later we called and this time a different person answered and we were told they expected it in a couple of days. No phone call. We called Lowes and they called Mel's and were told they would call us to make an appointment to have it installed. No call. Today 130/15 we called Mel's and were told that they would be here on Tuesday to install the belt and that they would call us Monday give us a time. By this time we have had enough!!!

This is not the first time we have had to deal with this company. A month before the belt broke, the dryer quit working. Again it was  under warranty so they were called by Lowes. This time the motor went bad. It was 2 weeks after they were here that they were able to install it. They had told us it would be in the next week. We called after a week and a half and were told it was not in yet. We had to call and ask again for them to come out and install it.
