My husband and I have always been "do it yourselfers" and it was a huge leap for us to use a contractor for the first time.  We are perfectionists and we are also retired.  That said, we were very happy to have JR as our man in charge.  I appreciated the fact that he always promptly returned my calls and or e-mails.  Since this was such a new experience, I had many, many questions and JR was very good about taking the time to answer.  Each and everyone of the sub-contractors he had working for him was a pleasure to have in our home.  They were courteous, professional and good people.  At the end of each work day, my husband and I would inspect what had been done each day and if something wasn't to our satisfaction, I called JR.  He promptly "got on it" and addressed each issue to our complete satisfaction.  My only disappointment with the entire job was that initially we were told the job would take 4 weeks, maybe 5 and it turned out to be 9 weeks and two days before we could move back into our bedroom and be able to use the Master Bath.  Circumstances caused by an emergency health issue with the tile installer threw off the timing on the tile work, which threw everything else off as well.  The holidays were in the mix, but that should have been included in the original time frame.  There were other little mishaps here and there, nothing major, and as I said, JR worked quickly to resolve anything that came up.  I would certainly recommend JTR Contractors to anyone in need of a general contractor.  It was a big load off our shoulders knowing that JR was handling everything for us.

Couldn?t be happier with the job Jeff and JR did for us. In a project this size, there are always some delays and issues (permitting in St. Petersburg for example) but everything that came up was handled quickly and professionally. JR misunderstood a conversation about a particular window and poured a concrete with rebar section into the window opening and ordered a smaller window. When I saw it and spoke to him, there was no arguing or backpedaling, he just said, ?we will fix it.?  Jeff was the on-site manager and did a fantastic job interacting and pleasing the other condo owners in the building regarding clean up, elevator use, and noise. He was here all the time, and worked with the crew and subs to make sure it all went smoothly.  In order to replace the windows, they had to erect 8 stories of scaffolding. This was by far the safest way to accomplish the task, and I appreciate the concern for safety that JTR had at all times. The communication was excellent, and all of my concerns were addressed in a timely and satisfying manner. There were several unique issues with this large of a remodeling job, and every one of them was handled well. The terrace had to be drypack regraded for drainage, most of the ceilings came down to access electric, install multi mini-split A/C, and re-plumb. We tore out closets and a bathroom completely and reframed  the area into 2 baths and a large closet. We kept the kitchen and the tile floors in the great room. They covered the floors and counters and they came out without a scratch!  The subs that JR used were top notch with the exception of the plumber. I think the company is established and of good quality. However, they sent their new hire who was not the best, and in fact was terminated toward the end of my job. On the opposite end of the spectrum was Daniel Wells the lighting specialist. There were no lights at all in the place, and Daniel designed and installed state of the art LED lighting throughout the condo. They are fantastic! My personal friend who is a general contractor in town continually dropped by to see how the job was progressing and always told me how impressed he was with the quality of the workmanship. Any future work that I need done will definitely be a job for JTR Contractors.

I have been fortunate to work the JTR for over 20 years.  I purchased a new home in August 2012 and have had n-going remodeling projects since that time.  Had no need to shop around for who to use - there was never a question that JTR would do the job(s) for me.
In each instance, the response was timely, a written proposal submitted for review and consideration, a detailed explanation of how long the job would take and, if permits were required, how long that process would take before work could begin.  When the job was begun, it was finished within a reasonable amount of time.  If subcontractors were used, a member of JTR management would be on the job site daily to inspect the work was done accordingly to the specifications.  The workers were very neat and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The jobs were each completed within the agreed upon budget.
I highly recommend JTR as a quality contractor who takes a great deal of pride in their work.

It went very well. From the time I spoke to JR on the phone to the completion of the project both, JR and his son Jeff were very professional and responsive.... something you don't always find in contractors. We were very impressed by the quality of the work, how clean they left our house each day and the speed at which they completed the job. The project was very well managed. All their sub's were professional as well. They were also willing to work with us to stay within our budget. We have a bungalow build in 1918 and you never know what you'll find with older homes. That didn't scare them at all.  We would not hesitate to use them again. In fact we will be calling them for a future project and have already recommended them to friends.Very nice people to do business with.

The work is excellent in fit and finish. The project came out as good or in many cases better than planned.
The contractor did all the steps necessary to get the project passed by the Architectural Review Committee.  The job started on time and proceeded each day until completion for a total construction time of 8 months. At all times the site was kept as neat and clean as possible.  Great care was taken to safe guard all the areas of the house from dust and debris.
All subcontractors that were called in were professional and their efforts were coordinated very well.  All work was completed as planned and warrantied.
The finished product blends completely with what existed prior to commencement, so that the addition appears to have always been a part of the original home.
The cabinetry work, built-ins and closet designs done by subcontractor Danny Miller (813) 684-3618 was superior in every way. His suggestions and completed products put the finishing touch on this project.
I can completely recommend this contractor and would use them again for nay future work.

It was an awesome experience, all subs showed up when expected and called if a problem came up. Workmanship was exceptional. Have recommended them many times, everyone loves how the kitchen turned out!

All jobs were done professionally, completed on time and monitored closely.  Any changes needed were described in detail and options were provided by both amount of work and cost for each option.
I have and will continue to recommend JTR to anyone in need of any repairs or remodeling.  They are outstanding.
