Hillsborough Pump and Well should be your go to well people. Mike, the owner is the most responsive well operator I have encountered, responding to numerous questions and request for quotes without complaint. Calvin, Troy, and Jerry are willing to go above and beyond for the customer. My well has been inop since Helene and finally the flooding receded to a point they could change it today. It was 37 degrees when they showed up, with rubber boots on and a heroic attitude they hand carried the pump, new expansion tank and all the other necessities about 400 feet through what is still swampy conditions. While still standing in ankle deep water, they then hand pulled the pump, redid all the plumbing and restored water to my home. After my experience with this team, I will not use another company.

Hillsborough Pump is using a phone number previously used by the pump company, Lamar Wilson, I had used before and thought I was calling this time. Hillsborough Pump didn't answer this number with the company name, so I had no idea I was reaching a different company than the one I thought I was calling. I didn't catch this, and so innocently asked them for an estimate. Hillsborough Pump, continuing their misleading behavior, came at a time other than agreed and proceeded to do the work without my authorization and then asked me to pay. As a layman, I have no idea what work they actually performed. If they had come on time when I was home, I would have recognized the problem and not even asked them to do the work. After finishing the work, they did not give me an invoice, and despite several calls to the owner asking him for an invoice, I still did not receive one. I think their behavior was unethical, or worse.

We purchased a secondary number to another company lamar Wilson was the owner to. We don't know when someone calls us from that number because its a forwarded line . This is a follow-up to a previously posted review. I do not want to change the ratings, but i do not recommend this company for electric fixes with the pump. We had them come out because our well stopped working. It ended up being a problem with the power going out to the unit. They rewired our well but the wire was left out and we were told we just had to burry it ourselves. Afterwards, I called an electrician just to make sure everything was done properly since the wires were bypassing the electrical panel on one end and the breaker was not connected on the other end. This ended up being a much bigger deal than they let on (as we suspected). I am glad I followed up. The company was great with the response time and they did have our well working relatively fast, but we went from a water problem to an electrical one.

"This is not a true statement. We do not contract out our well drilling out we own and operate with our own equipment. Also we do not pull our permits threw the city so they would have no idea about the permit. Our permits are pulled thew southwest water management. We feel this was an unfair review and not a reflection of our company."

We had a minor pump issue but they insisted that we also get a higher capacity tank while they were there so the minor pump issue didnt keep continuing... they didnt want to do just a little jobe and we were in desperate of need right then and there because we have a lot of animals so we went ahead and bought the $895 tank........then later the pump began to leak and we asked them come back out and they absolutely refused to come out and fix the leak.... guess a leak wont get them enough money but they wouldnt even return our calls despite the fact we told him our piglets were getting stuck in all the mud the leak was creating... shameful!

"I recall this job specifically. We came out multiple times to fix a problem for free that was caused from a bad tank that was short cycling the system. We let the customer know if the problem wasn't fixed properly we couldn't keep coming out for free . We tried to resolve this for the long term and the customer wasn't interested."

Mike was wonderful. Problem was resolved and found that tank was not functioning properly. He was completely honest and trustworthy and I must say that is a major plus with this company. He replaced the well tank.

Woke up to no running water, I called Mike at Hillsborough Pump and Well at 7:30 am, he was there by 9:30. After checking the system and explaining what he found, he gave me the bad news, both my pump and tank needed to be replaced. I paid my $95 check out fee, (which he later applied to the repair) and told him I was going to get some other quotes. He was very helpful and provided me a written quote with specifics on the type of equipment he recommended. After making several calls and researching a bit online, I found his price to be competitive, but not the lowest, most importantly he was able to start right away. Mike came back the same day around 12:30 and started the job. Everything went fine, the job was done much faster than I had expected, then Mike ran into a problem. We were getting water to the house but not in the house. After spending a bunch of extra time he discovered a piece of the old pump had clogged one of the pipes inside the house. He did not charge me any extra for the additional labor or materials needed to correct the issue. I appreciated the extra effort and his professionalism.

Originally, I gave this provider a great review. I should have waited and made sure the pump was working properly before I wrote it.
The reason I am rating this provider an "F" is due to Mike making me wait for months to address my issue. After waiting literally 4 months of my pump constantly getting clogged up with sand (ruining my appliances in the process).. he ultimately just abandoned me and stop all communication. I am still shocked at this behavior from him as I did not deserve to be treated this way. My advice to anyone new using him... MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PUMP IS WORKING PROPERLY AND PUMPING CLEAR WATER BEFORE MAKING PAYMENT!!!!
Also, apparently, he is NOT a well driller.. only a pump repair person.

"[Member Name Removed] we try our best to complete every job to the costumers satisfaction. The existing well produced sand due to a cave in that happed before we did any work on your system. We both agreed to give it some time to see if it would clear up. We made several trips to work on this system with no success and determined that a new well needed to be drilled. We had several wells ahead of yours and tried to move things around to get to yours sooner but was unable to do so . As you can see by other reviews we do a great job keeping our costumers happy and complete the jobs to there satisfaction."

Our old tank was small and was 15 years old. The owner essentially gave us the switch for the price of the new tank. Also gave us the Angie's list discount. Very professional and I felt comfortable he knew what he was doing. Explained things well. No hard sell, just made suggestions and gave me information. I decided on the new tank. Will use him again for sure.

Mike was very responsive, came to my location with brand new well pump and motor. He also installed new pipes and plumbed to the well. He tested, adjusted pump pressure and ran a test to the irrigation system. He was very thorough in his installation and made sure everything was working before he left the job site. Very good quality work.

Set up appointment Sunday pm. Mike( the owner) showed up Monday am. Together we found the leaking water line and Mike capped it. Also removed 2 old tanks and installed new well tank.

We lost water pressure early Saturday morning and went out to investigate at the well and discovered the pressure switch smoking. We turned off the power to the system and started looking on Angie's List for a Well/Pump Service Company. I found "Hillsborough Pump and Well Drilling". They had good reviews so I called. Mike answered and after explaining the problem, discovered he lived only 1/4 mile from our house and would be out in 30-45 minutes. Mike was extremely professional and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had all the parts on his truck and had water flowing before lunch. Hillsborough Pump and Well was a great find. I'll be using them from now on. Did I mention that Mike was not just the service technician...but also the owner. Thanks Mike!

We have a community well which serves 6 house. The well went out. One of the homeowners tried to service it but couldn't get it running. So I called Hillsborough Pump and Well Drilling as I had used and reviewed them at another residence before. Mike answered the phone(which is smart) and we set up the appointment for 9AM the next morning. He was out and did the work. It has been running since then.

I went out to my well early in the morning to water my animals and nothing came out of the spigot. I called Mike and he was at my house within two hours of the call. He was very professional, tested the pressure switch, replaced the control box, and fixed the well in no time. He also advised me on replacing a submersible pump for my second irrigation well. Service was great! I would definitely use him again.
