The best part of the work was dealing with James Taylor and his son. They are excellent anything they touched was perfect. They were always there on time. 

The worse part was dealing with the subcontractors. The most difficult subcontractor was the one who did the siding, windows and doors. James is a wonderful guy but has little control over his subcontractors. James told me that the work would be done in minimum of four weeks max 6 weeks. It took over six months. This was all due to the window, siding and door guy was totally unreliable. They weren't punctual or reliable. Seems like he hired people off the street. 

He should have fired the subcontractor after two weeks but he didn't and is why I gave James Taylor a B overall.

James and his son are honorable, honest and good men.  They delivered in all areas.  Had a problem with one on his contractors, but overall, am very satisfied.  would recommend them to everyone.

He is a licensed contractor and what work  he did not do, he woud contract it out to others. He is reliable, friendly and good to work with.

James came over with his sheetrock guy Richard Grant to give an estimate, then had me work with Richard directly after that. It was a nasty job to pull out all the old stuff, but Glenn did a great job. They were great about coordinating around the electrician that I had come in to replace the wiring. Previously, the skylights had dark-stained cedar frames around the interiors. Glenn suggested replacing those with sheetrock and texturing them. Wow! What a difference that made in the the look and brightness in the room. I would definitely use them again.

We have done four major renovations with four different general contractors in various properties that we have owned over the years. Our experience with James was the best by far. First and foremost, James is honest. He tells you what he will do, when he will do it and how much it will cost. He then does it. We bid this work to four general contractors in the area (all recommended highly on Angie's List. James was not the cheapest quote we received. He submitted a thorough and thoughtful bid; asking clarifying questions that made us focus on the details of the project. Once awarded the work, James started promptly and kept us posted as to his progress and to any issues that arose. Our communication was made more difficult as we were out of state. James sent regular email updates and pictures to keep us in the loop. We traveled to FL to visit the property and were very impressed and completely satisfied with the quality of his work. Overall, James provided a great renovation experience. We really enjoyed working with him. James Is a true gentleman that can be trusted. We can think of no higher compliment to convey our satisfaction with his work and his professionalism.

Outstanding, we wanted the small shower and extra sink removed from the master bath, he ripped them both out and knocked down a divider wall, cleverly designed new layout with a modern sink/vanity and a jacuzzi tub. Other contractors said it wasn't do-able. His tile work is outstanding. He knocked out a dated, oversized sliding glass door and built up wall and installed French doors, as a bonus the patio got new siding from the redesign. Redesigned another bathroom, sheetrocked entire 2/3 of old house (the newer additions already were rocked) and sheetrocked ceiling (used to have ceiling tiles). Knocked down walls between kitchen and Living room that had coat closet and pantry and made an island w/storage below and opened up kitchen to living room (great view) Removed internal sliding glass door and installed wall between breakfast nook and new addition. Had to have old area of house rewired to bring up to code. The house looks brand new and we couldn't be happier

Existing doors and trim were removed, surfaces prepared, new doors fit and installed, trim installed, all surfaces prepped, caulked and painted.

He's going to do another job for us probably this winter. Our experience with him was terrific. He did everything we asked for and there were no problems.

Excellent work. I contacted James by phone, and they came out to give an estimate of the various jobs we needed to get accomplished. They showed up on time, and did the work later that week. The bathroom required customizing the vanity and granite to fit into the space, which turned out outstanding. The company was punctual and did the work as if it was their own property, which is a great quality in a contractor. They did not appear rushed or in a hurry and took their time to do it right the first time. They even came out on a holiday Monday since it helped us out with our schedule. I plan to use the James Taylor company again for our next project.

My elderly neighbor had him put a new roof on her house and raved about his quality of work. so I called him to renovate my cottage. He and his son did 90% of the work and supervised an electrician who was also fine. They were VERY punctual. Very polite. Totally trustworthy. Also , very fast completion. The work came out beautiful and polished. I think the price was fair. I HIGHLY recommend these guys. I just got off the phone with him and he is going to come build a deck outside in a few days.
