I can't say enough about the owner, Tommy Todd and his crew. As a first time owner/builder, this has been a (difficult) learning experience. I made a bad choice in the guys who handled my concrete and masonry work. In addition to headaches for me, it also created extra work for Tommy in correcting some of their mistakes, but he did not charge me for the additional time.

Most of the work that he did won't be seen since it is covered by stucco and drywall, but it doesn't mean that it isn't important. Just look at a lot of production homes and you'll see bowed walls and sagging roofs. That is because the framer did a shoddy job. It is very obvious that Tommy takes great pride in his work and has hired a crew that reflects his high standards. I have received several comments on his work from the other subs and the building inspector has said on more than one occasion that it is excellent workmanship.

I'm not ready for it yet, but Tommy also does finished trim work and crown molding. I have not doubt that it will be of the same high quality.

I didn't think Tommy's price was excessive, but I'm sure you can find a carpentry that will charge you less. However, you really do get what you pay for. I went with the low bidder for the early work on my home and it has cost me way more in time and hassle. Fortunately, I learned my lesson when it came to my framer and other subs. I promised myself I would never build a house again, but if I do, Todd Construction is the only company I would consider for anything that involves wood.
