Dantastic Designs And Floor Coverings

We had just had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and wanted a backsplash installed next to complete the new look. We got three quotes from local installers. Dan's was the best, primarily due to his use of an adhesive mat instead of thinset. This allows him to grout immediately instead of waiting a day. I was hesitant to use Daniel because of mixed reviews by DIYers who have used this new method. The fact he has used this for a few years with no problems and he guaranteed he would fix any problems that may occur convinced me to give it a try. The price was darn good, too. Daniel and his brother arrived on time and got right to work. We had a design in mind using subway tile and a mosaic mat that required cutting it into thirds. There were also trim pieces to transition between the subway tile and the mosaic. All in all not a simple design, but Dan handled it with no problem. It also required a few extra pieces to be cut to complete the irregular mat ends. The work took over six hours but it was completed with no problems. The wife was extremely pleased with the end result so this project was a success.
