A & E Painting Contractors Inc

Very friendly and great salespeople. Everything looked great when they finished painting the exterior of our home. However, after less than 3 years our cracks have all reopened, that they "fixed". Paint has faded to white in many areas. Have called and texted so many times in the last 6 months. They either ignore me and do not respond or they tell me they will be out to fix it next week. Next week has come and gone many times and they still have yet to show up. They do not honor their warranty or their work. I would never recommend them.

The company is totally professional from start to finish. Alex and Mary were outstanding and the painting crew know what they are doing. They have done a lot of work in my Trinity neighborhood where we didn’t have the best paint from the builders. My home looks amazing now thanks to A&E and I highly recommend them!!

At the time I had thought it went very well. Mary ran the front end business and I think Juan or Alex did the painting. Had some apprentices to help. Bothe were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They came with neighborhood recommendations. This work was around 2011/2012. With their type of work it takes some time to realize/recognize/rate quality. Had I rated them within 6 months of the work I would have offered high marks. After about a year we noticed some fading and cracking. It took a series of calls to get them to come out and look. My assumption was they would execute on some retouches. There was also a significant amount of mold on some sills that were painted that was supposed to prevent that. Finally got them to come out and inspect and we determined sprinkler system might be having an impact. Fair enough, so we had them adjusted to avoid hitting the house. Had no follow up for about 3/4 months, with us sending pleasant emails. Think we finally got the sill repainted and a promise to fix the fading and cracked surfaces, but that never happened. They were going to investigate the paint type thinking that might be the problem. Was promised a call back, never happened. Over next 2 years both my wife and I sent emails and calls and felt ignored and that they were not standing by their work. I would see their truck on occasion and felt like I should approach them while working but decided that was unfair and kept trying to use email and phone to resolve. On 2-3 occasions they would respond to our emails saying they stand by their work and would fix. Never happened. I gave up and didn't want to go through the hassle of contacting a lawyer or BBB. But Ive recently come on to Angie's List and found them here. These days social media conversations seem to be the most effective way to get businesses to respond to their customers. we are now at 5 year mark and perhaps this review will help others in their decision making. Im happy to provide more detail. In addition, if anything happens where A&E comes forward with a solution, I would be happy to revise this review.

We had our home painted in 2009 and used A & E.   As part of the contract they provided us with a 10 year warranty.   In April of 2014 we started to notice fading and chalking of the Sherwin & Williams Duration paint on the front of the house and the left and right side of the house.   We contacted A & E as well as Sherwin Williams (we had paid extra for Sherwin Williams Duration Gloss in 2009 and wanted the same paint).   There was a lot of calls and emails and net result is that  A & E was finally able to get Sherwin Williams to provide paint for a repaint of our home, and A &E  came out and repainted our home on February 16th.   We were pleased with the end result.  The painter was punctual and he was extremely careful in his trenching and taping.   The true mark of a professional company is their willingness to honor their warranty which A & E has done.  I expect that in 3 years we will need to have the house repainted and we will definitely contact A & E. 

Mary came out to give an estimate and was very professional and not pushy. She gave us an estimate on the spot and we followed up with her a couple days later. She scheduled us and checked on the workers during the job but they did not need it. They were great. It took them 3 days and they did great. They cleaned up after themselves daily. They were even in our home some when we were not there and we were comfortable with them. I am so happy with the job. A couple days later, I realize that we did not have any touch up paint and Mary went and bought some after the job. Having service after the job was more then impressive. When it is time to do the outside, we will definitely call A and E. They did a great job and used a wonderful product which I think is their own special blend.

As part of the agreement they will come out every two years to power wash the house. They explained everything very well and gave me a brochure of what he was going to do. He even took me to a current house he was working on so I could visibly see his work. They were very clean and neat with their work. They did a good job and fixed all of the cracks.

We had mixed results.
Three years ago Aand E did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our home. They were on time and did a good thorough job. So, we contracted with them to recently do some interior painting, including crown molding, baseboards and walls. We called them the day prior to the agreed start date to confirm and remind them to pick up the paint color we had chosen. However, on the agreed start date Aand E Painting never showed up. We finally called late morning and were told that they could not start the job for another three weeks. NOTE: We had to call them to learn of the three week delay. Thus, we no longer have confidence that Aand E Painting will complete any project, as scheduled.

overall work was great slow start but picked up the pace by end of week. They only send one worker so I feel a lot for one person to do. We noticed a few problems with paint color bleed thru contacted A and E about the problem after numerous phone calls they have not contacted us about the problem. I would not use them again like most contractors eager to collect remaining money no where to be found when problems appear.

They were outstanding. The paid alot of attention to detail and I would defintely use them again in the future. It was very nice to business with them and they were very professional.

They were excellent. They completed the work in the time they said they would. They left the house exactly the way they found it. Mary was very patient about my picking colors and put the samples up weeks before. They provided the typical colors approved by my community board to choose from. The house looks gorgeous, they even painted aluminum stuff that wasnt originally painted and it looks much better that way.

Some fascia boards were replaced. Power washing was done to the whole house.The painters then masked off all areas that were needed. They then painted. Job was done VERY professionally. Work area was kept clean at all times.

I got an estimate 5 months before I called to accept, during a period when A and E was painting several houses on my street, including one that I use as a barometer because of the family's insistence on quality. I got an estimate, with a range depending on quality of paint, and was impressed that it was good for a year. The communications once I decided to proceed were excellent, first estimating when a crew could begin, then defining it precisely. The crew was very careful and very professional. All windows and porch floors covered with plastic and taped. Warnings given - "Try to use the garage entrance while this plastic is on the marble at the front entrance because it can get slippery with a morning dew." The workmanship was just about perfect. Very good experience at a reasonable price.

I contacted them in early spring 2010 and they finally got the door repainted in January 2011. I always find them courteous and they did other touch up which they did not have to do. But the length of time I had to spend following up left me no desire to want them to do inside painting that needed done. They would benefit greatly from some organization. If they want repeat customers they need to make sure they follow through until the job is done.

Overall, good job. Work was completed in 3 days, they also included painting my pool deck at no additional cost. Only complaint was that they forgot to replace some weatherstripping on one of the doors.

They did the job correctly the first time and I did not need to call them back for any type of touch ups. They also painted a settee at no charge.

They had my 2,300 square foot home done in half a day, they sprayed it missing a lot of cracks and spots that were not filled, they sent a person out a month later to fix, he really did all he could with one hour a work, which was not a lot. They did not finish my door and frame in a satin finish instead of semi gloss, which was never discussed, there is a lot of bleeding on my bricks in the front from the undercoat that needs to be fixed, for $3,500 you should get more than one coat of paint that is sprayed on in half a day. Every time they said they would come back to fix these issues it took them multiple days to get out here, we are now 3 months out and things are still not right. I feel that I got the ROYAL SCREWING...

There were some place where we had to have them touch it up. Overall, it was done really well. When we get ready to paint our exterior, we will probably call them. We got a quote the same day that we requested and it was all organized in a folder with brochures and other information. In choosing colors, the owner, Mary, was helpful. They brought in a couple of quarts to try it on the wall so you can see what the color will look like.

DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB. LEFT DOORS UNDONE. TOOK THE PAINT SO I COULDNT FINISH THE JOB. CALLED FOR THE RETURN OF THE PAINT BUT NEVER GOT IT.
