Crown & Trim by Design

Refused to fix the beam that was not flush with the ceiling. He came back twice for the trim in the bathroom and still left a corner without baseboard. I have emailed Vince to complete the job but he does not respond - no surprise. Anytime a change or suggestion was to be made he made a big deal out of it.

My job was going to be a challenge because of my granite countertops and back splash extending over where I wanted the door trim around my patio doors. I called Crown & Trim (after 3 other companies told me there was NO WAY it could be done and have it look nice) WRONG!! Crown & Trim came and to my great relief did an outstanding job!! The trim on the windows and patio doors "finish" the kitchen and I LOVE it!!! I rate them an A for professionalism, A++ for quality. I am already planning my next project and Crown & Trim will be used again.

Vince was very responsive and polite from beginning to end. Vince showed up at the time he said he would and got to work right away. The job was done quickly and efficiently. He cleaned up so well it was like he was never there. Most importantly, we are very happy with the quality of work and new baseboard looks great!

Company was excellent, timely and efficient . The quality of work was amazing and the time that the project was completed exceeded my expectations. The installation was done by the owner and completed by other members of his staff. I highly recommend this company and I will be using them for future projects.

Vince did a great job. He was able to work with some tricky areas near vent grates that were close to the ceiling and a transition area between the hall and the dining room floor. The craftsmanship was outstanding and the areas looks awesome. Definitely a professional in his work. He applied the Angie's discount when he emailed the quote. He was able to hoist the strips of moulding up to the 4th floor and secure them inside the condo unit without any damage. The only minor problem was that one of the nails pierced the cable wire which was close to the floor. I called him about it once, but I did not hear back. I knew he was having medical things done so I did not pursue it. I was able to remove the base strip and the cable company came over to replace it. I was able to secure the base moulding myself without any problems.

I needed approximately 140' of crown molding installed in a living/family room. I'd identified, on-line, the profile I needed.
Vince was one of 3 companies I contacted, he proposed that he manufacture out of solid wood the molding and also install it. The results far exceeded my expectations and knowing the moldings are solid wood as opposed to the plastic purchased molding is icing on the cake. The cost was no more than as if I'd had the plastic molding installed.

Vince is remarkable and he has the "whole package". Vince's work skills and taste are exceptional-he has a knack for making the most beautiful trim work dependent on the wall/floor/ceiling situation. It is too bad Angie's List doesn't allow picture examples of fine worksmenship.
Vince is highly organized and extremely effiicient. This makes for fast work. He collects your thoughts & plans well and isn't afraid to offer advice or ask questions. Crown & Trim by Design are extremelly professional and communicate well. Vince was never late, worked hard, and let you know exactly where we stood. This quality company is very competitive for the level of work they do. And you could not ask for a more congenial and nicer person than Vince.

Perhaps the best contractor with whom I have ever worked.  Outstanding attention to detail at a reasonable price.  Professional work by a true craftsman.  I would hire Crown and Trim By Design again and recommend Vincent for any and all trim and woodwork projects.

When Vince came to the house to measure and provide a quote he brought lots of samples with him, which was great. We chose a simple 3.25" molding for the entire house, with an additional 1.50" riser in the common areas.

Vince did the job over three days. He did an amazing job. Truly a master of his craft. Most of the joints are so tight they didn't require any filler.

Update 2/6/14: I recently stayed in a 5-star hotel while on vacation. Fabulous place. Stunningly designed with lots of arches and columns. My crown molding is better. :)

He also saw were there was a leak in one of the windows our building ended up having issues and it took an additional 6 months for our building to be fixed but Vince came back when the repairs were finished and finished his original work and did some additional trim work from the damage the leak in e building caused he is unbelieveable at what he does I would recommend him to any one his standards are very high and I really appreciated his comming back as soon as we were ready for him

Excellent workmanship by a friendly, professional craftsman.  We received quotes from other contractors, but Vincent Mantegna's attention to detail was evident from the start, when we asked him to describe how he would go about the job.  We are extremely pleased with the results for a reasonable price.  It is our understanding that he works with crown molding, baseboards, window and door trim and other fine carpentry work.  We highly recommend Crown and Trim by Design.

I thought it was great that the moldings were seamless. I was impressed with the professionalism and his excellent work.
