I was emotional, my beloved cat died suddenly. My daughter and son-in-law came over to console me. My daughter called the office where my cat and dog have been patients since our move to Titusville. She told them what happened and asked for guidance as to how to handle cremation. We were instructed to bring him to the office. It’s still pandemic protocol so we needed to call in but as we saw a tech outside we asked her what to do. The tech said to check in at the desk, she held the door open for us and disappeared. We were wearing our masks. After standing there, still in tears, being ignored, I said excuse me to the two “workers” who were chatting away as if we were invisible. One looked at us and yelled, yes yelled! You can’t be in here! The lobby is closed! We explained why we were there and that we had called earlier. “Go to the back and call. Someone will come get him!” Zero empathy. We went to the back and called, this time we were told they’d do the paperwork and come get him. We waited, waited. Finally my son in law pounded on the door. They came out, asked me if I wanted him in an urn, I said yes. No choices were given to me. They charged the card on file. The tech said sign here, we'll call in about two weeks for you to come pick him up, then took my precious cat away. It was so cold. No, I’m sorry for your loss, Nothing. Zilch. The above ratings are missing a category; Compassion. I’ll give my rating anyway: F I will be looking for a new vet for my dog.

We've went in to speak with Dr. Young but she was not available. We permitted the office staff to photocopy our paperwork and are now awaiting a call from Dr. Young.

Dr. Prussner has 39 years of experience. He had a gentle and caring manner with my dog. Their prices were reasonable. He checked her medical history thoroughly. He explained everything to me from what he thought was wrong, what all was in the file, and the results of her x-rays. He then outlined the choices for treatment in detail. They even gave me a CD of my dog's x-ray to take home to my regular veterinarian. Since I had heard that they often take the dog away from you, I requested to be with my dog as much as possible. They only took her away for the x-ray. The receptionists, technicians, and the veterinarian were very kind to me and to my dog.

Update:

I finally got a chance to read what they said in Dr. Prussner’s notes. It said I was a very difficult client; I was very questioning, and I had second guessed him and his choices. I noticed that in the notes it said that when Dr. Prussner's office called my usual vet on Monday to get the rest of the records my vet told them to not give the dog any more Remidil because it was contra-indicated with the Prednisone she was on. In Dr. Prusser's he responded that they didn’t know she was on Prednisone. I know this to be untrue, since I had put this on the original forms I filled out, told a technician, and also told Dr. Prussner himself. Dr. Prussner specifically told me to not give her the dose of Prednisone that day, and to only give her one the next day.

When I got back home my vet told me that a dog on Remidil and Prednisone can get sotomache ulcers immediately. Also, my vet told me that my dog should never have been taken off of the Prednisone because it was being used to treat a very serious condition that she has. My vet doesn't know for certain that my dog has stomache ulcers yet, but we are having to treat for it because a blood test showed positive for them. I don’t know if Dr. Prussner was just distracted and didn’t catch that he couldn’t give those two medications at the same time, because he was concentrating on helping my dog's pain. Obviously Dr. Prussner was trying to help, but he could have caused a new condition to occur and delayed improvement for the life-threatening condition the Prednisone was treating.
