Joe Caslin Painting

On the first day of the job, after the painters had left I inspected one of the bedrooms that had been painted. They had not done any prep work to the walls prior to painting. The walls looked horrible. They painted over gouges, scratches, nail holes, etc. They never spackled, patched or sanded down the walls or fixed any damages in the wall surface prior to painting. Apparently this must be an extra service that is not included in the cost of the job. We assumed a professional painting company would automatically prep any surface before painting. Our mistake. When I pointed out all the defects in the walls that they painted over (included globs of paint that had dripped and run down the wall) Joe (the owner) became very defensive and snapped at me stating "I'm not going to re-texture your walls for you!" They did however end up fixing the defects. Upon completion of the job, Joe (the owner) asked for payment and stated that he prefers cash. This was a surprise to us because payment was never discussed prior to starting the job (again a mistake on our part for not asking up front). We were expecting to get a final invoice upon completion listing out all of the charges and fees because prior to starting the job we were only given verbal "estimate" of the cost. He stated he prefers cash. We of course did not have several thousand dollars cash on us. We asked if we could send a check, which he said was fine. That very same day we requested payment through our bank to be made to him. We emailed him a copy of the confirmation of payment which showed the date he could expect to receive payment. On the day after the date that he was supposed to receive the payment he began calling and texting us repeatedly demanding payment. He was very rude and unprofessional. He left me a two minute voicemail ranting about why he hadn't received his payment and basically demanding that we go and withdraw the money immediately. I responded to one of his many rude and nasty threatening texts and said that I was at work and to please stop calling and texting me repeatedly and that it was considered harassment. In the end, it turns out he did get his check however it was sent to his business address not his home address so he basically harassed us and berated us for no reason. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable behavior!

Very prompt, neat and willing to work with customer. Did everything contracted for.

Joe Caslin arrived on time to provide a quote.  Quote was emailed to my husband, it was accurate.  The work started on the agreed date and was finished within 3 days.  We changed our mind about having the front door painted and called Joe, asking if it could be done, no problem.  His crew came by the next afternoon and paint it.  The crew was polite and professional.  The paint job was excellent.  Our house looks great!  We would use Joe Caslin Painting again.

Very good job. They got all of the high and hard to reach places.
