Scheduled through Donna who was very response and professional. She told me $85 show up fee --- would give me an estimate for work needed and if I had them perform the work, that would be applied to the work. Serviceman,showed up w/i expected timeframe, was very pleasent. Listened to what the problem was and got to work. He was very nice ... I have to say a little on the slow and steady side which effects your pay by the hour $$. I didn't get an estimate at any time of what he thought the problem was or how much he thought it would cost. He was busy --- and very detailed. In the end the system works very well. He did what seemed to be minor adjustments, but did make a big difference. The cost was $250. All labor. I was very happy with the work and based on that will probably use them again. I was not happy that the fee's were never discussed until he gave me the bill when he was done.
He did briefly mention his maintaince contract program, but did not try to hard sale. Overall, I felt like I was being treated honestly. He didn't try to sell me anything or replace parts ---- And that means a lot ! 
The "B" ratings on professionalism and punctuality are only due to the comments above re: how long it took to complete the work and how the fees were communicated. 


Update ---- Just received first electric bill after the servcie, repairs and instruction were done -  my electric bill DECREASED by $50.00 AND the comfort inside the home was 200% improved !!  

Our a/c had quit running, and when I called Dorton Air Concepts I talked to Donna. I talked to her twice before scheduling an appointment, and each time that I talked to her she was very polite and very knowledgeable.
When we decided that an appointment was necessary, she explained to me that even though the schedule was full that she would put me on the schedule and someone would be here but it probably would not be until late in the day and to not get concerned if it seemed like it was getting too late because someone would be here. This was at 12:30. Within 40 minutes the serviceman was calling saying that he would be here within the hour.
When Mike, the serviceman, showed up, he was also very polite and knew what he was doing. He immediately went and repaired the a/c unit and recharged and filled it, blew out the drain pipe, and cleaned it all up. He then brought the part that had been replaced into the house and explained what he had done.
I would absolutely use this business again and would highly recommend them to others.

We have used Dorton Air since we first moved to the area. They had previously installed another, smaller air conditioner for us. We have never had any issues with them. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about air conditioning and heating. They have survived the downturn in the economy and have even helped us on a hot Sunday when we had problems. We also have a yearly maintenance contract with them.

Because the older unit was smaller and in a tight space, they we weren't sure we could get the most energy efficient model so Donna, in the office, sent the owner, John out to check. He determined we could get the better unit and at the same price as the other unit. John did not charge for the 2nd visit to check on this for us.

I highly recommend this company. I have always found them to be honest and extremely helpful.

Good response time. Could probably have sold me the service contract had they cleaned out the unit.

This was a semiannual service which I purchased last year. (As I recall it was about $230 for 2 units for 2 visits) this was the second visit. Jason was here for 1 12 hours and did a thorough job cleaning and tuning my 2 units. He was on time and very courteous. John Dorton (owner) was the original installer of my units when we built in 2003, He (or his technicians) have been here for service several times and the results are always the same. Excellent.I recommend this company highly for installation or maintenance of your air conditioner.

The service was top notch. Air conditioning is a pricey investment and they were patient to help us understand all options.

The crew that installed the equipment was neat and tidy. They swept every area they worked in and even gave the area surrounding the new unit a fresh coat of paint.

The owner personally came out to review the work done and make sure everything was to our satisfaction before he requested any payment.

All permits were pulled and completed in a timely manner. They even registered the unit for us promptly and followed up with service calls in the follow weeks to make sure we were pleased with everything.

I would highly recommend Dorton to others.

Called just after 9 AM and a technician arrived by noon. Our compressor wouldn't run and within less than an hour the unit was running smoothly. It was a simple fix, no trying to sell us parts or service that weren't necessary. We were so pleased with the service we signed up for a maintenance contract for twice a year preventative service - this was something we saw on their website and asked about, not something anyone at the company tried to talk us into. The technician was friendly and professional. The service call was $115 and the annual contract was $140.

Got an appointment for service call. They were fast and early. The tech. was nice and efficient. Said we needed a part and would call when it was in. Replaced parts and price was as said.
