Unicity has poor communication, follow up, & doesn’t care about our issues. In Sept.2021 we entered into an agreement with Unicity Solar Energy to install solar panels with the understanding that we would have a seamless install with clear communication throughout the installment. We were told install would not take long, we would benefit by not having a payment due for at least a year. The panels were to be installed in Oct.29, 2021.The panels were installed, but failed Seminole County inspection numerous times, with the first failed in Nov.2021.Unicity did not comply with the engineer diagram on paper to match the layout on the roof. As a result, Unicity apparently uninstalled and relocated some panels without prior notification to us as the homeowners. They removed numerous panels and the tracks that hold the panels, in doing so there was obvious damage to a roof that was less than 4 years old.Our pool maintenance company was present that day and called to ask if we knew they were there. They proceeded to remove the tracks & panels to move them exactly how the diagram was on paper, however Seminole County inspector advised us it would have been wiser to change the paperwork to match rather then change the materials on the roof.On this day not once did we receive a phone call from Unicity to let us know what they’re plans were.We had to call them to find out exactly what was happening.Again in Dec.2021 inspection failed again by Seminole County, we were advised by the county that Unicity would have to come out again to relocate a couple of panels which we weren’t happy to hear. When I arrived home I got on my roof to see the mess that was left, they left patches on my roof with caulk exposed & Unicity assumed this kind of work was appropriate.I have pictures of this day to show the damage&mess they left behind. This was not ok & made us very upset up on the ignorance of this company to leave my roof looking like trash.Uncity then had to hire a roofing company out of Orlando to fix the damage the first time.Additional changes were apparently made to our plans because Seminole County advised there was another box required in the home,Unicity again failed the inspection because we required an additional electrical box.We did not plan on adding an additional electrical box in our laundry room.Unicity also failed in realizing we needed an insurance bond,as well as an application through Duke to have solar panels. We found this info out because we spoke to Duke&explained to us what we needed, they had not spoke with Unicity prior to our conversation.Subsequently, the panels were installed, the Duke application was approved and the additional insurance was completed, the panels briefly worked somewhat in the month of May&June. However, as a result of all the changes/amendments our roof started to leak water on July 2022 which had severely damaged on the wood and required repair. They didn’t silicone any of the holes that they drilled on our roof causing a leak in our spare bedroom. We do not trust Unicity&or their crew.We were at a point we wanted Unicity to go away.We ended up speaking to the CFO Tim who apologized for all of what we have been going through&he had no clue any of it had been going on.He wanted to make it right & promised me they they will replace my whole roof and a new crew would reinstall the panels.Tim also promised us that Unicity will communicate better moving forward but that never happened. We went through 2 Hurricanes while the panels & brackets sit in our backyard&our responsibility to secure during both hurricanes. At that moment we decided that we’re done with Unicity with there lies & promises.Unicity cannot be trusted by us anymore&now have to take legal action.Due to multitude of problems, excuses, roof damage, etc., we consider any contract for the roof panels to be breached or otherwise null&void.Unicity should take responsibility&realize at this point how they failed every step of the way of this project.
