They were thorough and did a good job taking care to trim the trees correctly. The crew cleaned up and could not tell that they had been there. I would use Graham and his company again.

I received good service and was well taken care of. The  crew cleaned up and you couldn't tell that they were even here. I have previously used The Palms in an emergency,  and they were able to take the rest of our tree down before it fell on our roof. If that limb continued to fall on my roof,  it would have caused very serious damage and they responded to my call immediately. The Palms have maintained my trees for several years and I have never had a problem.

I spoke to Graham Orr, owner of The Palms Tree Service, Inc.,  located in Pinellas County, Florida, on Monday, 9/16/13.  I described the job that I wanted done as trimming 3 tall palms: two in the back yard and one in the front yard. 
Mr. Orr said he has a minimum fee of $130, and I said that would be OK.  He then said that he needed  to look at the trees before providing me with a price for the trimming,  and that he would then give me an estimate for trimming the 3 trees.  I told him that I would not be home on Tuesday, 9/17/13 (the day that Mr. Orr wanted to come to my house to look at the trees for the purpose of providing me with an estimate), but  Mr. Orr said that I did not need to be home for an estimate, and that he could come by to look at the trees without me home to give me an estimate.  

 I said that would be OK, and he said he would call me and tell me the total cost for the job after his visit.  When I returned Tuesday evening, 9/17/13, I discovered that Mr. Orr?s men worked on my property without my permission, and cut almost every branch off of my prized 10-foot spread ribbon palm, to the extent that the tree was cut down to a stump. 
I was horrified when I saw the destruction of my ribbon palm tree.   When I spoke to Mr. Orr, he said that he did not see any palms in the front of my house, where I have 4 large palms.  He admitted that he just pointed out the 3 trees to his men and then Mr. Orr left his workers unsupervised at my home to cut trees.
 
I never gave him permission to cut any trees, as he said he would get back to me with an estimate before any work would be performed.   I also never told him to trim the short ribbon palm tree (or even give me an estimate to trim that tree) at all.

After calling Mr. Orr and explaining my extreme displeasure, Mr. Orr said that it was just a miscommunication between he and I, and that led to the destruction of my tree.  There was no miscommunication.  I asked him to look at my trees to give me an estimate, but not to trim them until I received the estimate and agreed to the price.  He agreed, and said that he would call me with an estimate after visiting my house to view the trees. 

He never called me with an estimate, he just came on my property without permission and did work that was not requested by me and destroyed my ribbon palm tree.  I am an extremely unsatisfied customer, and would not recommend using his services in your home.

Everything went fine until I received a violation from the city for cutting down a tree in the city right of way.
I paid for and thought the contractor had a permit.  He did apply for permit but never picked it up even though I paid for it.  The city said on the permit 1 of the 2 trees cannot be removed.  So I paid for 2 trees to be removed when only one needed to be removed.  I could have saved $800.  The city said they would have taken the diseased tree down for free.

Graham is a knowledgeable arborist and knew exactly what to do. He and his crew were very careful not to damage anything and did a good job. He met with the neighbor to explain exactly what he was going to do. The work went well and they did a good job cleaning up when they were done.

I called twice for for an estimate with Palm Tree Service, the office told me that Gram could not call me until Monday because he was ill that week. He then called me back on Monday as promised and told me he could not give me a estimate over the phone because I had suck a tall tree, I understood and told him he could come to my home during the day when i was not able to be home and to leave the estimate in the door so I could make my decsion. I came the next day home that evening and found my estimate in the door which I what we discussed, and went into my back year and found Ribbon Palm tree which is very old and tall and it had been cut to pieces without my permission. I am outraged how he destroyed my Ribbon Palm tree and I did not give him permission to do the work on my property.

I was not home when they came, so cannot tell you much.  I would have liked to have all the dead limbs taken down, and will not know the results of the treatment given the tree for a while yet.
But they did answer my initial call, gave me a price and showed up to do the work within a week, so they were prompt.

They removed a very large, old Oak tree and a Pine tree in our back yard. They did a terrible job in the clean up, they messed up our driveway and our front lawn. They were very nice and prompt but we were so discouraged in the way they left our property. Because of the laws in FL we had to replant a tree and because of the way they left things we had to have the stump ground because they did not take it low enough.

Went very well - no problems.

The job was seamless, from the estimate being signed to the last stick being picked up.

within 2 days of contacting the palms tree service, their arborist came to look at my diseased palm and also to survey our large number of trees.  he was polite and professional. he told me that the palm had died from a fungus infection and should be removed.  the oaks had an overgrown canopy which had not adequately addressed by other tree services i had used.  i asked him what to do with a mulberry tree which was taking over the back yard.  he provided an estimate which was in line with what i had paid to others.  i wanted the work done within the next week.  he was able to accomodate me within a day.  the crew of 3 did a fantastic job.  the trees look beautiful.  the crew cleaned up all the debris.  the arborist came back twice to be certain that the job was being done to his and my satisfaction.  it was a  pleasure having the palms tree service take care of my trees

Graham did a great job evaluating our trees and determining which ones needed attention. He spoke with the residents of our community and gave them a comfort level about the work being performed. He is very professional and knowledgeable.

They did it really quick because I had relatives coming in the next day so it was one of those fast things. They did a superb job. They are very polite. They did exactly what I asked them to do. They got it done very fast. I think it took them about 2 hours to do it, and it would have taken me at least a week to do it. It was well worth it. The price was really reasonable for the amount of work they had to do. I filled up their trailer that carried all the trimmings with what I had. I had them cut down about two feet of the shrubs, and that was a pretty big job. They were on ladders. These shrubs are about 4 feet wide, so you are constantly extending your arm all the way out trying to trim these things. Usually I do it, but for this purpose of fast response, I had them do it. The price was way cheaper than anybody else was quoting me. I was pretty nervous about what I was going to get out of them. It took four of them to get the job done, but they knocked it out. I called them and they were out trimming it up two days later. Like I said, I usually do it but it was one of those procrastination deals. It was quite some time ago, and I almost need to call them again. They didn?t waste time or take breaks. The just knocked it out. They went from the two trees, on in the back and one in the front that were way too tall for my equipment, and then the shrubs. They didn?t take a break in between them they just kept going. I didn?t talk to most of the team I just talked to the manager, and he was very friendly. He made sure after every item that he was working on that he understood exactly what I wanted. He didn?t walk away until he knew, and he didn?t start until he knew exactly what I was looking for.

The Palms Tree Service Inc has a good reputation as certified arborists and I met the owner of the company. They were good at their work. I have used them before too.

We previously have hired The Palms Tree Service, Inc. to trim our trees. We are very satisfied with the service and the expertise of Mr. Graham Orr, who is the owner and an Arborist. Through the years of having our trees trimmed, we have found if the trim/cut is not properly done the tree will not heal as it should and invites diseases. This is why we now hire someone who is very knowledgeable in this area. Mr. Orr is an expert in his field, is helpful and very willing to answer any questions. He has reliable workers and his foreman, Rich, is knowledgeable and also very helpful. This company does a superb job and cleans up all debris.

AT THE TIME MR. ORR CAME OUT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE I HAD RECENTLY PLANTED SOME HAWAIIAN SNOW BUSHES BUT THEY WERE NOT DOING WELL. AS WE WERE WALKING AROUND THE PROPERTY MR. ORR POINTED OUT TO ME THAT I HAD NOT PLANTED THEM PROPERLY. HE GOT ON HIS KNEES AND SHOWED ME WHAT I HAD DONE WRONG AND HOW TO CORRECT IT,AND THIS WAS BEFORE HE WAS EVEN HIRED. YOU SHOULD SEE THEM NOW, THEY ARE JUST GORGEOUS.

I AM A REPEAT CUSTOMER AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. CLEAN UP WAS EXCELLENT, VERY RESPONSIVE.
