Homeowner
Dec 2021
My roof was 17 years old, but had no issues. There were no leaks. I faced rising house insurance costs due to its age and wanted solar panels, so after quite a bit of research and several estimates I hired Ridge Pro to install a new roof on my home. There have been multiple issues since the installation. Here are issues that I consider unresolved despite having the GAF golden pledge warranty: 1. The hot water heater vent pipe in the garage wasn't properly sealed after reroofing, causing water to freely flow into the garage. This damaged the ceiling. Ridge Pro applied caulking to stop the leak but left my ceiling looking like this (see photos on my google review of Ridge Pro). 2. There was water intrusion into the master bathroom, staining the ceiling. I had to call them out several times over the course of a year as their fixes - applying cement/caulking to a valley on the roof - took numerous applications to stop the leak. Given the roof design, I feel like a secondary barrier should have been applied as a proper fix rather than bandaids. I don't know how long it will take before it leaks again. 3. Ridge pro did not replace the flashing in the front of the house during the reroof and I ended up with water intrusion into my dining room. Water flowed into the walls, damaging the framing and sheetrock inside the walls and window framing, as well as my hardwood floors. When I discovered the damage I inspected the area and saw stucco damage under the flashing. The flooring in my dining room is no longer available to patch the 4'x4' area of dark staining and warping. 4. Soffit wood framing has water damage because water is not being redirected off the roof properly. You can see from the photo the plywood deck was replaced (original deck had shielding on the bottom) but extensive wood rot is present. 5. Starter singles are poorly cut, and do not extend over the drip edge. I don't think it should be normal to have to call your roofer dozens of times after a new roof install. I don't think you should need to buy a thermal camera to check how wet your ceilings are each morning. The only way I've been able to get Ridge Pro out to the house this last year is to file GAF warranty claims. Prior to filing a warranty claim, they would tell me they are "coming out next week", but don't show up. When I call the following week, I'm given excuses such as "The truck broke down", or "We are having staffing shortages because of covid". After months of this, I tried filing a GAF warranty claim. Once a GAF warranty claim is submitted, they are responsive, showing up within days. But they come out and slap (what I consider) bandaids on the roof instead of making the required repairs. If the issue is not applicable to a GAF warranty claim (i.e; damaged ceiling, flashing not in a valley, etc), they are unwilling to do any work. When I spoke to GAF warranty department, they said I should contact the contractor (Ridge Pro) to have the flashing and ceiling damage addressed, but those items are not GAF warranty claims because its not related to a GAF product. Ridge Pro won't address the issues I've brought up and instead claim its not an issue because GAF doesn't consider it an issue. I last reached out directly to Doug (General Manager at Ridge Pro) via email on December 10th, but he hasn't responded to me. As a result I am reluctantly leaving this review to reflect the condition my house has been left in. I don't think it's a lot to ask for the 5 items above to be addressed.

Our HOA hired Ridge Pro Roofing for a 2.2 million dollar contract. This company caused damage to our garage doors, broke light fixtures, cracked solar tubes, caused solar tubes to fall through the ceiling, stained driveways, taped permits to our garage doors for three months then when they removed the permits the paint on our garage doors were removed, concrete was scraped cracked or broken. They finished the roofs and left the damages to the homeowners to fix. Terrible customer service and they don't repair what they damage. Beware of this company.

I found Ridge Pro when they were replacing my neighbor's home. Doug came out and went over everything with me and even showed me the shingles they would be using. My neighbor was extremely happy with their experience and the work look great, so I hired them for the work. They came out about 2 weeks after signing the paperwork and had my roof done in 2 days just as Doug said they would. I'm very happy with the work and my experience with Ridge Pro.

From start to finish the Ridge Pro team exceeded our expectations. Doug's knowledge was very impressive during our first appointment with them, and the install crew was efficient while remaining clean. Major difference from what we saw our neighbor go through, thank you Ridge Pro.
