Modern Design

Initially it went well. The owner showed up on time for the estimate, which was reasonable. The worked was scheduled to be done and completed the first week of November, when they were paid in full. However, a week later we noticed some blemishes and called. They came and said it was due to the weather which was wet, and they would take care of it. Eight week later, they never showed up to fix it or have called back in spite of many calls from us and threats of bad reviews. I have pictures to send you. At this point they more than likely not do anything but I'd like to warn you and other potential customers.

Very well. Lucked out bc we thought we would be delayed in having this done due to family priorities, which meant we didn’t contract until mid May. But he had a delay on another job so he put us in. One small follow up which was responded to quickly.

They did a great job and both associates were very nice and answered all my questions. They are hard workers and they are dedicated in doing a great job. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Done over 4 days to grind down concrete, fill cracks, then apply 2 coats of cement followed by 2 coats of base paint and 4 applications of coloring. Looks great and received many compliments. We can see the outline of a few cracks, but not a big deal as need to look for them.

I’m very pleased with the results. My porch and walkway had been torn up to put pins under the house during a sinkhole repair. They did the work in short time periods to clean surface, level, and finally apply two coats of the color. It matches our home.

We are still waiting to have this taken care of .!

They gave a fair price, nice samples, easy to work with, timely, quality work performed. Highly recommended!

3 step process with 1 one day in between to dry before sealing. 4 days to complete and well worth it. Outstanding pebble finish with a slight sheen. Resists scratching and tire marks. Looks beautiful

I found Modern Design on Angie's List and contacted them in August for a quote. Brian arrived on time and was very thorough in his presentation with documented insurance. A request for references and addresses where we may look at other homes was quickly provided. He also provided photos for us to share with our HOA in submitting our plans for approval. Prior to the job commencing in November, his insurance agent provided a current Certificate of Liability Insurance without us even requesting it. The crew arrived on time and reiterated the steps for the process as outlined by Brian. They were very thorough and efficient. As the before and after photos indicate, they did an outstanding job. A limited warranty of their work is provided. Our neighbors continue to admire the work that was done.

Overall, we are happy with the job. There were a couple imperfections of the expansion joints that they cut and these were areas that shouldn't have any imperfection. There were also some areas that they did clean up very well. My overall issue was that we paid $150 for a pool service as part of our invoice, ($3,479 Total). The person that came out did a horrible job and when I spoke to the owner I was told that they were an independent contractor and that Modern Design was not responsible for their performance. Well, if you are referring the person as part of your installation, then you should really take responsibility for their quality of their work. He did offer to have her come back, but she had already broken my hose and since I wanted it done right, I did it myself. I would hire them again, but I also know what to look for.

Modern Design were punctual and professional in all they did. Brian arrived on time to do the original proposal and quoted price and delivery on site, which was roughly 5 weeks out. Despite rain presenting scheduling problems the work was done by a two person team who were friendly and hard working. The work was completed according to expectations they set. The result is beautiful. We've had many compliments on the how it looks. Highly recommend. The only reason for a B rating on price is it was a bit more expensive than I expected, but we definitely got what we paid for!

It went great! The team that came out to do the work were informative, punctual, very nice, and did exceptional good work. We were very pleased with the results. It turned out better then hoped for. Plus, this saved us a lot of money doing it this way.

Brian and Modern Design exceeded our expectations! We had the ugliest light colored concrete that was cracked and mildew stained in areas. Despite cleaning, the patio deck continued to be an eye-sore. Brian went into great detail about the process, color scheme/ design options and pricing. We set a date and work was completed within a week- just as promised. Pool deck turned out so well that we will be turning to Modern Design for our entry way in the near future!

Everything went beautifully. On time, price was fair, and in the end a beautiful upgrade to our home. If I had to give any bad marks it would be there was several large cement "plops" in the yard leading back to the fence that I had to clean up. Other than that I am very happy and have had many complements on the work they have done. I will be hiring them again for the front porch and walkway!

Very professional & courteous. Told us step by step what they were doing and what was next. Due to horrible weather conditions, they came on Sat. to continue the work so it took abit longer than expected. It was lots of work & sanding, prep work etc. We are very happy with this vendor's work and love our new pool deck once again. Boy, it sure needed it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Modern Design to anyone who inquired.

After going over his bid and the time frame, we decided to not do the resurfacing this year. We had budgeted for this, not knowing what the expense would be, and the bid exceeded our budget. His bid was fair for the work he would have to do and his crew's labor. We did not have a complaint on what he charged for the service he provided and his work guarantee. We just were clueless that it would cost this much to do our small space, and since we like to deal in cash payment for services, we simply couldn't afford it this year. We would recommend Brian and his company to anyone who wants to do resurfacing! His experience in the business and his total professionalism were great to see. When we are ready to do the work, we will call him back.

They were great. They were very competent workers and very polite. They did exactly what they said they would do and the product turned out exactly how they said it would; we really couldn't be happier. They also stayed on schedule and on time.
