Once it was done, within 2 weeks we noticed the acrylic paint was not adhering to the surface and we had a difficult time getting anyone to come out and look. The owner wanted us to contact the tech who did the job to fix the problems. We would call and the tech would tell us he would be by, but would never show up when he said he would, and this happened several times. Finally, we contacted the owner again and explained the tech never showing up, and he sent another tech. The new tech agreed with us that a second coat was not applied, which caused the issue.
Expectations -
What we expected was for Wadecousa to come in and do what they said they would do and "do the job right!". We were very patient, and we could never get the owner to come back to our property to discuss or view the work once he took our first check for the first half of the work.
When it was initially completed, it looked beautiful, but after a few weeks when it got dirty, I found it much harder to clean then our original cool deck. You can't pressure wash the deck, because the acrylic paint chips away. You have to be very careful with the type of cleaners you use, because the paint will just wash away from the surface. I guess I misunderstood how hard the acrylic surface really is.
"In March of 2013 we completed an Acrylic overlay for this customer. They were satisfied and all was fine. Three weeks later they called and said the deck was hard to clean. I dispatched their applicator to see what was wrong, I was told he would look into it and didn`t hear any more. Three weeks later the customer called and said no one ever showed up. I immediately sent my production manager to see what the issue on the deck was. Meanwhile I called the applicator in to discuss his "no response" to a customer need. After a direct conversation he was fired! My production manager called with his report. It appears that the final sealer coat was never applied. We cleaned the deck and finished the job, offered our apology for the inconvenience and left a satisfied customer.-= FIFTEEN-- months later I read this report. I never received a call about anything wrong. The customer had a full warranty. WadeCo responded to the only issue we knew about and satisfied the customer. As for the owner not doing service calls that is not our policy. The project manager is responsible for his work. This individual did not take care of a customer and lost his job. WadeCo has a no tolerance policy in these matters. We honor all our commitments, however we cannot address something we do not know about.."
While we like the overall pattern and color scheme of the deck the single man crew did for us, we are most unhappy with the overall job. There are many paint drops/spills, debris under the paint, bumps, blemishes, etc. (sloppy work). The project manager (PM) informed us that trying to fix or patch the job would likely make it worse. The PM sure wasn't up to hearing input from us - especially when we told him about the bugs, holes and marks prior to his applying the clear coat.
The work was also not performed with the owners property protection in mind. Our pool took quite a while to get back in shape after the PM used a blower to attempt to rid the deck of the debris caused when the performing the work. We filled two baskets with the debris removed from the pool. We actually ended up buying a new filter.
While quite the salesman up front, the owner was not so open when his 'crews' work was questioned. Had we known this would be the result, we wouldn't have contracted the work and will not use or recommend the company.
We can only hope that the deck lasts and holds up as promised, even if the look isn't what we paid for.
"The customer started this review saying they liked the look and ended up saying they did not. What happened between these conflicting statements? I will give my input. The work was completed and final payment made. The project manager on each job collects the payment. I use this method to insure the customers satisfaction. Only a satisfied customer would make final payment is the assumption. I paid my applicator and closed the file. Shortly thereafter I received an e-mail stating the work was sloppy. I made arrangements at the customers earliest convenience to meet and review the work with them. As I walked onto the deck I understood their opening statement of liking the look, patter. color scheme etc. They reiterated this to me. However, stuck to the deck must to have been 20 purple post it notes marking areas of concern. I knew then what the issue was. Break out the magnifying glass. We were hired to create a stone finish. A stone finish is not a perfect smooth finish. We deliberately create imperfections to simulate real stone. I gave my honest opinion and attempted to explain this again. The first time I explained it was at the point of sale. At this point the Ms became very angry and would not listen to what I had to say. I tried to calm the situation by stating the possibility of a misunderstanding. Ths Ms only became angrier. I again tried to calm the situation by assuring her of my interest in their satisfaction. I did this by pointing out the fact that I responded immediately to their issues. I drove 110 miles, used most of a day to inspect the work with them and address their concerns. This was after the check had been deposited for a week. At this point the Ms became abusive and I started to leave. She stopped me and assured me she would not yell at me. I again tried to resolve the issue. I should not have stayed, she was just getting warmed up!! When I decided I should leave while I could, I said I could not be of any help under these circumstances and walked out the front door. This was the first time I was called a Son Of A $#*&^% and had the wooden door slammed into my back. As I stood there stunned she came through the door screaming at me in a very threatening manner, I was sure I was going to be hit. She then, still in a very threating manner yelled that I better get off her property I said I am Ms ---- just as fast as I can. As I hurried to my truck, I did not know if she was behind me, I again heard her, at the top of her lungs this time, call me a Son Of A &^@#$!! I got in my truck and left. The work in my opinion is fine. I can find nothing to criticize my applicator for. Jeff has been with me for 10 years, in the business for 27 years and has millions of sq. ft. of experience. This type of work is hard, dirty and messy. We always try to be as careful as possible. Some material does get in the pool, however I have never heard of 2 baskets full. I went to their home to try and resolve any issue that I could. I was not allowed to finish or suggest anything. This customer has indicated they would not hire me again. My position is this. Under no circumstances would I consider stepping on their property again.. In 30 years I have never seen anything like this behavior. My commitment to my customers remains 100%. I do everything I can to insure a great experience with my company and I always will. Misunderstandings are possible and I am always there to try and resolve them. Reasonable people can."
Worker rarely showed up for more than an hour or two and always late...lost tools..no supervision whatsoever!
Rain ruined some concrete so they put epoxy down to hide blemishes. Blemishes didn't go away. Now epoxy is shiny while other finish is semi-gloss..
Promised and charged to put rebar in to fix cracks...never did that and was misleading and disingenuous about repair! Cracking started to return in " area that was to be fixed with rebar"...
Pool drains are covered in paint and although he promised to repair and clean, nothing has been done to this day.
After first few days on job no one showed up..We kept calling to get job finished but were told they were too busy to finish.. Finally came and rushed finish... He promised me three coats of clear coat to get me to sign contract...on collection day he had no recall of any conversation like that.
When owner came to collect payment he promised to come back to see if epoxy dried to a satin finish..he has NEVER come back. When I called to say cracking is worse than it was , he said he was on vacation in the Carolinas and would call upon his return... He has never called or come back. He has told me that cracks aren't covered. He has never addressed the poor quality.
Beware, the owner Dennis is a great salesman and appears to be a very nice man..but a man is true to his word.
I would never ever use this company, or recommend them to anyone....since April he still has not showed up as promised..
9 months... Get someone else...
Also be very specific on the repair order and scope of work to be performed. The contract is very genaric and every promise that was made is not in writing.
The gentleman that came to do the work (forgot his name), was punctual and did an excellent job!
I did not previously have an Angie's account until now, and it's been almost a year and we still love the work they did!
Very happy and would recommend this company!
The Owner Showed up after calling and work began after we were able to get them on-site. The Pool Deck looks completely different and it's like night and day! During the process, we had a lot of rain, so it slowed down the entire process, but in time we were able to get it all completed.
I would suggest that if you are planning on undertaking this type of work, try to do it in months that do not have so much rain.
It's amazing how the pool deck and patio looks now. Before it was just white with cracks. Now it looks like stones were set and WadeCoUSA was able to shade it to match the outside paint of the house. I would provide a reference for his services anytime.
For the cost of a standard paint job and sealant, we were able to get the deck we wanted below the original cost of just having our original contractor come in.
Thinking about doing driveway in the future.
We got three estimates and chose WadeCo because they had such a good reputation on Angie's List and with the BBB.
They did a great job! It's brutal work out in the hot sun: pressure washing, leveling, blocking out borders and patterns, laying the concrete, and then priming, painting and cleaning up (5 days total). Jeff was so meticulous. He helped us choose the color and trim, and wow, does it look nice. It feels good on my feet and looks MUCH nicer than what we had. It really gave our old deck a beautiful facelift.
