USA Murphy Beds

From start to finish, there were delays by inexplicable company closings in addition to holidays; lack of communication for updates throughout the process; 3 months from order date to delivery date, 2 months beyond the one month delivery date projected.  Product arrived in a smashed crate with instructions partly missing.  Instructions then sent by pdf file attachment were unintelligible according to 2 professional IKEA installers.  Setup was so difficult, it took IKEA installers 3 hours at $125 per hour; Total: $375.  Also missing was the horizontal black metal rod that joins the feet for easy pull down that is included in User's Guide and online images of the product.  Here, the company stated that the rod was discontinued and is unavailable. Touchup paint scheduled for separate shipment did not arrive.  Owner claims to have made more than one attempt at paint shipment that failed.  The design and dimensions prohibit the fit of a conventional Queen-sized mattress with a 60-inch width.  It was necessary to find a mattress (Sleepys Tempurpedic) that measures less than 60 inches wide.  The bed cannot be closed if it is fully made (without pillows).  The design allows no margin for error since the lateral edge raises, meets and closes at a support edge; there is no allowance for bed clothes. It is a poor, miscalculated design.
