Certified in Pet CPR and First Aid Tampaws is founded by Shawn Fera, a pet owner and animal lover herself. Shawn has owned a variety of pets in her lifetime, including cats, dogs, guini pigs, and even a sugar glider. Not only is Shawn a pet owner, but she is also very involved with local rescues in the Tampa Bay area and has been a volunteer/foster mom for Pug Rescue Of Florida for the past three years. This experience has allowed her to foster and care for a variety of pugs and given her first hand knowledge with dogs of all ages and conditions. Shawn has experience with administering basic medical care, including insulin injections, special diets, eye drops, ear drops, bathing (to treat skin conditions), post and pre-operation surgical care. Shawn also helps to socialize and train her fostered dogs and won the award for the most involved volunteer in 2012. Shawn loves animals of all shapes and sizes and she would be glad to put her experice to work by providing the love and care that your pet deserves.

Family members had always done this but we were all going on a 5 day Christmas cruise. We did 2 meet & greets because I was so nervous but the dogs loved her from the beginning. We received pictures of our happy pups every day. We definitely recommend her.

Great. Shawn has been my primary pet caregiver since I moved here 4 years ago. She has never missed one day, and is very flexible. It is obvious that my dogs love Shawn - they are always really happy to see her, and my neighbors have remarked to me that they notice how the dogs love Shawn. Can't be a single dog mom without Shawn!!

For the first time in a lifetime of owning dogs, I can go away with absolutely no concerns about the care and attention my dog gets while under Shawn's care. I have used Shawn services at least 6 times over the last year, and I couldn't be happier. My dog comes home happy, tired, clean and well-fed. He simply loves going there. I have absolute faith in Shawn's ability to care for my dog in every capacity. She is honest, trustworthy, caring, attentive to detail, and simply loves my dog. I couldn't image a better situation.

Shawn came for a meet and greet. I was very impressed by her and her connection with my dogs. I told her so and that I wanted to use her when I went out of town over new years. then suddenly she was no longer answering my emails and phone calls. there was no explanation. just dead silence. very disappointing.

"I am sorry you feel this way. The first arrangements we made you gave me the wrong code to the lock box, and I waited outside your home for 45 minutes for a response for the correct code, with no response. We had communicated the night before, and I verified that you checked the code, and you said, "yes." Then when we spoke after the incident of the code not being correct you said you did not verify it. Which is fine, I didn't give you a hard time, I was polite, and understanding. The whole point of the first arrangements was to determine if services could be completed by me seeing as you were concerned about my safety because your pups tended to be territorial. Unfortunately, that visit wasn't completed because I couldn't gain access to your home, therefore we were unable to finalize plans for New Years. Communication was lost between us several weeks before your planned trip, so you weren't left hanging. Shortly after I had a situation with my health. I really enjoyed your company, and liked your dogs a lot. I'm sorry these are the terms we are on. I would appreciate it that if you're going to leave a review that you include the fact that we set up a day, and time and I was there but didn't have the proper code to get in to your residence. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you, Shawna"

I was very pleased with TampaPaws. They even offered us a discount because one of my dogs is a rescue!
Shawna took care of our 3 dogs while we were out of town for a couple days and we could tell she truly enjoys taking care of animals, and that includes our pups. We scheduled her for 2 daily visits, one in the morning and one at night, for a total of 4 visits in 2 days. But she went one step further... since she had other clients in the area, she swung by to let our dogs out mid-day at no additional charge - that was really cool! She also would send us daily pics of our pups so we could see how they're doing, which was also peace of mind to know she was there and they were being taken care of.
I'd recommend Shawna to anyone. Thanks for the great service!

Shawna is in one word- AMAZING! Shawna is professional, responsible, accountable, friendly and will care for your pets as if they were her own! We began using Shawna's pet sitting services 9 months ago during an overseas vacation. We have 3 high energy and one that has special needs. She visited the home for extended visits, feedings and administered medication to our 3 dogs. During the 7 days she sent us daily updates including pictures which made us feel so comfortable to know the dogs were in such great hands. Shawna is also so knowledgable she answers all your questions and gives great feedback! She pays such great attention to detail- our dogs love her! We have continued to use her services for daily visits for our dogs and I would never recommend anyone else! Bottom line- you will not find a better pet care provider in the Tampa Bay area. Shawna is THE BEST!

Shawna is great! Called last minute for a stay-cation that we had planned as our normal dog sitter was not able to watch them. We considered boarding but after speaking with Shawna we felt comfortable from the start. She came twice a day and even sent text updates to assure our pups were fine and we could continue enjoying our vacation knowing that they were in her care. Upon arriving home we were surprised to find a thank you card along with a few special treats for our pups which was a very nice added touch! I would recommend Shawna to anyone and will use her again in the near future.

From the first time Shawn met our dog, throughout the time she spent with him and the cat, the animals really responded to her which put us at ease. Shawn spent three visits per day with them- loving them like we would! Daily updates and pictures via text reassured us that we had chosen the right person to care for our babies. so i have friends visiting from jamaica. They stayed in lake wales. So i had to drive to lake wales and then drive them to orlando so they could go shopping and also take my friends out to eat in orlando. It was an all day and all night type of situation and i have two yorkies that i adore. i called shawn and asked if she stop by my house 3 times to walk and feed and throw the squeeky toy so my dogs can get exercise. Its so hot in florida your dog can only be outside for about 5 to 10 minutes before you must come back inside. well shawn saved the day. she fed my dogs on time. Teddy has a stomach issue and he must eat 3 small meals a day or he gets an upset tummy. Shawn did everything i told her to do !!!! great service. she sent me text me photos of my dogs straight to my phone. AWSOME !!!! it really took the stress off me knowing that i can trust her in my home . THANKS SHAWN !!!

Every time she went to the house, she would text me that that my pets are doing good or already in the house. She basically let me know what's going on with my pets. I am very touched with the gesture when she left some goodies for my pets. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter. She cares with your animal and shows she cares how pet owners love their animals.

We went on a vacation for a week and had to leave our animal family behind. It was a very stressful thing to do, we are so close to our pets they are like children to us. it was very important to find someone that we could trust not only coming in to our home but making sure all the pets were taken care of. We have 2 dogs( a dachshund and a pekingese) and 4 birds . Shawn posted pictures of the guys while we were gone so we knew they were safe and doing well.When we got home everything was perfect. The dogs were doing great , the birds were well taken care of and even though I told her that she didn't have to take them out of the cage, she posted pictures handling them which made us very happy. Shawn is the person you want to trust your animal babies to, you can go away and not worry because she cares for your pets like they were her own.

So let me start by saying we began looking for a pet sitter just thinking anyone would do. The first one we had come over and interact with the cats had no idea how to interact with cat.... they came in very loud laughing and trying to be social with us rather then connecting with our cats. Everyone of our cats ran away from them. At least two of our cats are super social, so after that encounter I was a little worried about who might watch them. I called Shawna and she got back to me right away and agreed to come and meet them that day. Well when Shawna came over she did everything right, she didn't come in looking to find every cat and pet them. She sat down and we talked about what we needed done with the cats and how they are in general. She ended up staying an hour and a half and throughout that time every one of our cats gave their approval, even the one who doesn't like anyone! Now we felt like we could go on vacation and not worry :) Since the cats go out and in every morning and night, we wanted them to keep to their schedule and Shawna was spot on the entire time. She sent pictures of everyone of the cats whenever she got to the house, and waited every nighttill they all came home. Shawna is now our cat sitter for any vacation or travel that we do. When we got home they were all very relaxed and happy sleeping in their usual places and very happy to see us. Another thing to note was after we left I had decided to add on a few visits midday so the cats wouldn't get too lonely, Shawna had no problems coming those extra times on such a short notice. She had also left us a nice gift of cat toys for our furkids :) Thanks Shawna!!!!

I was so happy to have encountered this company! The quick response and pricing was what won me over compared to the other competitors.
I've never left my 20 month old puppy alone with anyone other than close relatives and I was very reluctant to do so. My initial meet and greet with Tampaws eliminated any concerns I had. Shawn of Tampaws was so sociable and very knowledgeable and I was able to feel very confident my baby girl would be in great hands.
After boarding for 6 nights, my puppy was returned to me at my time of convenience, freshly bathed and so well taken care of.
So far that has been the only services I needed but I will definitely use Tampaws again for any of my pet service needs

I've used this service twice now, and both times have gone better than expected. First time using them resulted in three on time visits and I came home to a new, clean cat bowl free of charge. After that, I went out of town for a week and had to have the cat watched 4 out of 7 days. On day one, I forgot to leave the key and Shawn had no problem driving to a nearby family members to pick it up. After that, she went above and beyond with misc house tasks. Texting, or calls when needed, have never been a problem -- communication is great. I'll continue to use them, and have no problem recommending.

I first used Tampaws back in November during the Thanksgiving day holidays. I was thoroughly impressed by the level of service that i received from Tampaws. I received several updates on my pet Tyson. I felt at ease while away that my dog was being well cared for. I have used Tampaws a few times since then, most recently I had to go to Savannah, Georgia and Tampaws took care of Tyson for 3 days. Shawn F. is so attentive and returned Tyson back fresh with a bath and smelling good. I have recommended Tampaws to all my friends and family and I highly recommend their services.
