Tampa Tile Removal

I had an excellent experience with Tampa Tile Removal. Mike was very thorough in his explanations of their procedure and in answering my questions. They went to work immediately, blocking off the work area from the rest of the house to prevent the spread of dust. In just a few hours they were done, he briefed me on some basic cleanup instructions gave me some tips and advice on where I was headed with my flooring project, and that was it. My home was immediately livable - no dust problems whatsoever. I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would not hesitate to recommend them.

It couldn't have gone any better.  Mike should up with a crew and a big trailer, on time.  I opened the door, showed him the areas where I wanted the tile removed and he gave me a price.  Mike said he would call me when his crew was half an hour from wrapping up.  I went to work.  I got the call, showed up, and walked inside.  All the tile was off the floor and in the trailer, and all my surfaces were taped up or covered with plastic.  All the floors were clean and tile-free.  Smooth sailing.

Mike and his team were wonderful! They were helpful and cheerful and did a beautiful job throughout the home. They were in the home for over a week (it was a big job) and cleaned thoroughly after they were finished. Not only would we hire them again, we actually did! They are in the process of working on an addition (a converted porch with more pink tile flooring that will be replaced with wood.)   

DO NOT USE TAMPA TILE REMOVAL!

I hired Tampa Tile Removal to remove 800 square ft. of tile from my living room, kitchen, laundry room, and two bathrooms.  They came on time, and completed the work in 1 day.  Originally, I was quite happy for I did not understand the damage that they had caused.  A few days later two separate contractors that were working on the house commented on the despicable condition that Tampa Tile Removal left my concrete foundation.  There were huge pieces of the concrete torn out of the floor, and a significant amount of thin set was not removed.  One of the contractors commented that it looked like the tile remover came in and worked as fast as they could to finish the job.  No care seemed to be taken to preserve the concrete.

The contractor that I hired to replace the flooring charged me $750 to fix the damage that Tampa Tile Removal did to the concrete.  I've copied the tile installer's comments on the extra charges below.

In reference to the additional floor prep the charges:

Before installation of the new product, and upon inspection of the existing slab, we found it to be in disarray. When the tile was removed from the concrete slab there was significant damage done to the slab itself and existing thin set and tile products were still present.

In order to properly install your new flooring products, we had to do a large amount of scraping, prepping and floating of the existing concrete slab. The slab was so uneven that a successful installation of new products would not have been possible without a large amount of additional prep and float being applied.

The additional cost for this additional work is $750, materials and labor.
