We had a few problems with them to be honest. They came out and repaired our pavers and actually they stripped them and filled them again. We called them back because it did not look right and they came back a second time and did it and it's still not just as right, so we were not too pleased with them. We did have to call them several times to get them to come back out and look at it and they did and determined that they would come back out and redo the work, which they did but it was no better. We're still very dissatisfied with it. They could have reconnected with us and even come out themselves and looked at it and they could see that it was not an improvement.

Scott came out promptly, when he said he would, and sent me an estimate for our work 24 hours later.
The original scope of the job included refinishing the terrazzo in the kitchen, but we did not realize there had been a large plumbing repair under the floor in the kitchen between an island and the sink, and there was a very large concrete patch that could not be patched with terrazzo to match. Once the workers discovered this area under the tile. they contact us right away to look at it. The ground the terrazzo and the cement to prep it for another surface (we will have to install tile or another flooring over it). They had to patch a few cracks and holes that were very small, and those areas are not noticeable at all. The finished terrazzo in the rooms where it was not damaged (dining room, hallway and hall bath) looks fantastic! It is shiny, yet not glossy and it is not slippery. Asad and Flavio (I think the names are right) were very courteous and professional, and careful with all areas of our house, including locking my house when they were done for the day, if we weren't home yet.  The bid came in at a little bit lower than a competitor, and they even reduced the final invoice because they did not perform any honing or polishing or sealing of the terrazzo in the kitchen, once the prior defect (cement patch) was discovered. We were very pleased with the experience with this company, and with the gorgeous final product. I love my "new" terrazzo!

"Thanks, Assad and Flav really enjoyed working with you on your terrazzo restoration project"

"We never did the work. Many times we are ask for a ballpark number and they are told nothing can be firm until we see the surface. Ninety percent of our business is residential, 10% commercial."

Installation performed by third party who was unable to get the finish I wanted.  Marbelife was one of 3 estimates I got, was the middle bidder, and did an excellent job.  Punctual, professional, and very clean.  Job took 2 days.

A reply to Ted Dormans comment...again there was a misscommunication between Marie and the scheduling for the date he talked about.   I called to schedule an appointment as he said.  Marie gave me several dates in May, and said she would get back to me which one was better.  She never called back to confirm which date, and his men just showed up.  We had not expected them and had other plans, so we turned them away.  I would like to see the phone records he said he had that support the calls he made to me.

Our appointment was confirmed the day before with a call from Marie. Later that day I called Ted Dorman, the owner, to inform him we needed some grout repair also. We prepared our floors for cleaning. The next morning,  his men never showed up.

I waited 1 hour.  I called Stone Medic and  spoke to Marie.  Marie told me that the men  were not coming and that she called me yesterday to cancel our service. We were home all evening. There was no missed call or voicemail message in my smart phone, which was the number she said she called.  I was upset because I took that day off work. I asked her to have Ted give me a call.

I called and left messages with Marie 4 times  to speak to Ted, the owner. We have a contract with the company for several years and we have  never had a service problem in the past. Marie told me to email Ted as he was very busy.

I emailed Ted and he replied that "We have a minimum charge of $395.00 to work in your area. The cost of gas, vehicles and labor make it too expensive for me to come to you area for a $150.00 job. The only reason I could do the work in the past for $150.00 was to schedule the work  when my guys had other work in your area."

Ok, so it costs him too much to continue doing our service. I get that.

I was just annoyed that they never had the courtesy to informed me that they were not coming. There is a major communication problem with this company between Marie and Ted..  And, I am out a days pay from work.

"[member name removed] forget to mention that my men showed up at her house for the job and she sent them away. She was called in advance that they were coming. It cost me $300 to send my men and a truck 50 miles away to do the job and she said it was not convenient for her to do the job that day. Again she said she did not get the call. I have phone records to support both calls. I told her I could not continue to do the work for $150 unless I had other work nearby, it would cost the minimum charge for her area of $395 if I did not schedule her work with another job in her area. I have completed [member name removed] work every year since 2010. She has rated each follow up survey call as outstanding."

I called them over the weekend, left a voice mail, and received a call back on Monday or so. They came to do the estimate. I thought the price was fair, so I went ahead and scheduled the work. They were punctual. I was told that they would be here the whole day, but the work only took them half a day, which was great. The work turned out as I was told. Overall, I was pleased with the service and would contact them again in the future.

The technician removed the cracked tiles without cracking any new ones. He used a vacuum and was very clean during the process. He replaced the tiles and matched the grout perfectly. Once finished, he left the areas very clean. It was difficult to tell which tiles had been changed. The kitchen and family room grout was cleaned  and sealed. I would definitely use them again or recommend their services. I have no complaints.

We had 2 broken tiles and several tiles that were lifting up on our front loggia.  The 2 gentlemen replaced the 2 tiles, lifted up 13 more, re-grouted the area so that it looked brand new.  They did an awesome job, very meticulous in their prep work and clean-up.  They were very professional, explaining everything that needed to be done.  I would definitely have them back to do more tile work in our house.

However, we originally had the appointment time set for 9 a.m. They called and said that they were going to be out at 11a.m. because they had a job that wasn’t finished. Then they called back again and told me they wouldn't’t be able to be there until 1:00 p.m. It was not until 2:30 that they finally showed. Even so, the work crew was great and we had no problems after that. I would hire them again.

They arrive when they said they would. They re-grouted all areas agreed upon. When they ran into an unforeseen problem with a tile wall barely adhered to the bathroom wall they called their boss and offered me a fine price to repair that wall. I was very  happy with the end result. The Stone Medic followed with a phone call asking if I was happy with the job.

Our floors look better than they did when we bought the house 8 years ago.  They were on time, very professional and did everything they were contracted to to.  It all looks amazing.  We are putting our house up for sale and the bathrooms and kitchen floors are sure to make an impression.
Thank you very much Stone Medic, I will be telling everyone about your work.

We purchased a home built in 1959 and were surprised to find terrazzo flooring under the old laminate floors.  We contacted Stone Medic to repair and refinish the terrazzo floors after reading the positive reviews on Angies List.  The floors were very dirty and in overall poor condition.  The salesman, Dan, came out as scheduled and provided an estimate that included repairing 220 holes, refinishing and polishing the floors. The project was to take 3 days. The technicians came the next day, as scheduled and began the repairs.  As they worked, they discovered that there were actually 900 chips/holes, not 220. Dan was called and the price was increased.  The technicians said the job would take 5 to 7 days, not 3. We understood this because of the amount of work needed to repair the floors. However, we received a call from Dan after the 3rd day, asking for payment? We were not living in the home (it was an investment property) and had not been to it, to look at the finished product.  We expressed our surprise at how quickly the job was done, explaining that the technicians said it would take longer. Dan said that this job was only budgeted for 3 days, so the technicians were done. This odd response caused us concern so we immediately drove to the house to inspect the work before making payment. What a SHOCK!!!  The floors were ruined.  The master bathroom floor had not been touched, there were large swirlcuts in the entire floor, the 1/4" chips had been filled with a neon yellow resin that glowed and spread to become 3" circles. None of the areas by the kitchen cabinets, close to the walls or bathroom vanities were done and  there were deep impressions in the middle of the family room and the floor was several different colors.  We called Dan and explained what we found. He said he had not been to the house and denied that it could be this bad.  He eventually agreed meet us at the home. When he arrived he looked at the floors and said everything was fine. We demanded that the owner of the company, Ted, come to the home, which he immediately did. As soon as Ted stepped into the house, he said it was the worst terrazzo repair job that he's seen in 30 years! They hand ground small areas causing depressions throughout the floor, instead of using the large floor machine, which would have kept the floor level.  All neon yellow filled holes had to be chipped out. He agreed to make all repairs and complete the job. After 3 more days of work on the floors, we received a call from Dan asking for payment. We went to look at the floors again before making payment. They were better this time, but still not done correctly. There were still swirl marks and grooves throughout the house, deep impressions in the floor and large  areas of light and dark colors. Ted and his partner Ernie met us at the house this time. They admitted that the floors had not gone through all the various stages of grinding needed to make them even and that the light annd dark areas were from having different finish levels of polish- 3 coats in some areas and 10 in others. We asked, again to have all areas that had the swirl marks brought down to the appropriate finish level and only have 3 layers of polish to help the floors appear more even.3 more days of floor work and $3,300.00 later, they are done. Not to where they should be, but at this point, we did not want to deal with this company any longer. The "finished " job was a patch work of inconsistent repairs, light and dark areas, 10 coats of sealer in some areas and 3 coats in others, depressions.  Our advice- never use this company for terrazzo floor repair.

Very well.  The gentleman who came out was knowledgeable and he gave me a reasonable quote.  My only issue is that it took a few phone calls to set up the appointment. Once I called the office, I was immediately given a call back.  Service was set up and the technician came on time and worked very hard. He taped the area surrounding the tile in order to protect the walls.  He also had a great idea of adding a gray grout color to some discolored areas of grout.  I thought this was very kind and helpful.  A second technician came and assisted and they both seemed very nice and were polite through out the process.  I was very pleased with the outcome and phoned the office to let them know how well their workers did. I would use them again in the future.

Miscommunication and misunderstanding up front resulted in a couple of stumbling along the way.  However, as soon as Stone Medic's owner was made aware of the problems, all was taken care of.  Their guarantee is not pure lip service.  The misunderstanding is worth noting, however, because I believe others could possible experience the same.  Twenty years ago, we had the terrazzo floor in our living room polish to bank-lobby brilliance.  The years had dulled the finish, so it was time for a refresh.  We got three bids.  They were all about the same.  However, the one from Stone Medic included cleaning a small area of Mexican tile in our kitchen.  So we accepted that one.  Our expectations were two fold: one, our floor would be returned to its former brilliance and two, we'd have a sparkling-clean kitchen floor.  Both for approximately $950.  Once the workmen were finished though, our terrazzo floor did not shine as brightly it once did and we were told the price did not cover cleaning the kitchen floor.  I made the owner aware of both the issues and he explained: (1) The polishing style used 20 years ago had since been discovered as harmful and that the process that all companies used today, while not producing bank-lobby brilliance, was more prudent.  I accepted his explanation, thanking him for doing what was in our best interest.  He even came back and put more sealer on the floor, increasing its brilliance.  It looks pretty darn good now.  (2) His estimator did not intend to include the kitchen floor for the $950.  It was, in fact, an additional $950.  To make good on this error, he promised to come back and do it for free!  I don't believe service gets any better than that! I honestly believe the only problems here were ones of expectations.  We either didn't understand everything on the front end, or it was miscommunicated.  Either way, as I've said, we were very happy in the end.

Christmas, 2014:  They never came back as promised.  Therefore, we will never use them again.
