The appointment was set for 8. I got a call at 7:47 to notify that he'd be here closer to 8:30 or 8:45, needed to pick up a switch. the electrician arrived at 9:16 and finished the job at 9:28. This fixed the problem. I already knew the service call fee was $56, expected to pay the cost of the switch which was $22, but I did not expect to pay the full $88 hourly rate for 15 minutes of work! Even if the time it took to pick up the switch is factored in, I live less than 5 minutes from Home Depot! If I had known beforehand that $88 covers "up to an hour of work" I would've found a different option, as it ended up costing $166 to replace a dimmer switch.

Office staff scheduled appointment for next business day (Monday). Guy showed up on time, very polite & professional, did work quickly and provided explanations throughout. Advised on patio security lighting costs & time, gave precise estimate.

Sheppard made a good impression initially by sending 4 vans and a bunch of electricians. In many places, they wanted to run wires up a wall or across a ceiling and just cover them with molding. This was unacceptable to me. Ceiling fans taken down the first day were stepped on and otherwise damaged while they sat on the floor. Cutting holes for new boxes left very damaged paneling and damage to plaster that could be fixed (they did not fix it). They broke a solid wood cabinet door and wanted to use a screw gun to fix it. My carpenter later said if I'd let them, the wood would have split. One place they used expanding foam to hold a box, the foam got all over the wall, wood floor, and door frame. They ''finished'' by disconnecting all old wiring for the insurance co. and took quite some time to finish new wires. 1 outlet is still old and loose, 2 lights on 2 switches were combined to 1 switch in 2 places. The last guy they sent was very nice.

SHEPPARD ELECTRICAL WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE A NEXT-DAY APPOINTMENT WHEN MANY OTHERS WE CALLED WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE ELECTRICIAN WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THOROUGH (EVEN THOUGH HE WAS NOT ABLE TO WORK ON ALL THE OUTLETS DUE TO MISTAKES MADE BY THE GRANITE CUTTERS). WE PLAN TO HAVE SHEPPARD ELECTRICAL DO THE REST OF THE WORK ONCE THE GRANITE IS FIXED.

TECHNICIAN WAS A FEW MINUTES LATE BUT AT LEAST CALLED TO LET ME KNOW. IT ONLY TOOK HIM A COUPLE OF MINUTES TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND BEGIN FIXING THE PROBLEM.

THE ELECTRICIAN QUOTED AND CHARGED AN EXTRA AMOUNT BECAUSE HE WOULD PROBABLY NEED TO REPLACE AN EXTRA PART BUT THEN DIDN'T.
