The grain is old and there are cuts and holes in many places of this shingle. Shingle was not put straight on many parts of the house which looks terrible, lots of different size pieces of shingle were cut which looks absolutely horrible; shingle is cut too short in many areas, wood work is a disaster, shingle is not sticking after over 2 months; siding was broken by the roofers so they replaced it but Scott refused to get it painted so now it’s not the same color as the rest of the house and I’ll need to hire someone to paint the siding THEY broke! They also damaged our brand new outdoor shower ($800) and since they did not protect our AC unit outside, old shingle was thrown on it and broke the protective cover, debris fell in there and 2 weeks later our A/C was dead (fan motor - according the AC company, something must have fell on it and kept it from spinning normally and damaged the motor - a $500 repair). As for the roof, shingle is not sticking at all on large parts of the main roof and on the cottage. After 2 months it can actually be lifted up completely with two fingers on several areas! We contacted another roofing company to assess the damage; they said that too much power was used in the nail gun so the nails were shot three quarter of the way to all the way through the first shingle, which is why they are not sticking! Nothing is holding them down! 2 other companies we have contacted for estimates to repair this mess won't even try and "fix" it. For all of them it requires a redone entirely. As soon as Scott Post realized all the issues with the roof he called another contractor, Dereck, to take over and “deal” with the situation, to clean his mess. Dereck as helpful as he was also realized how bad a job was done and even though he tried to help and fix some things, at the end of the day, his opinion was also that the roof simply needed to be redone as there is no fixing it at this point. Permit was reopen twice so far. A true nightmare. On top of that he dared sending me a Notice to Owner, trying to put a lien against my property. Stay away from this company!
Response from Scott Post Construction
"The shingles were manufactured in 2/17. The rep from the manufacturer went out to the property and showed her that the shingles she chose were only 3 months old. I did go back and tried to fix some of the problems that were there. My roofing crew did do a bad job in some spots however the homeowner would go upon the roof and pull up the shingles the day after we installed them which broke the seals, I tried to explain that to him but it fell on deaf ears. Her A/C was over 20 years old the motor broke 10 days after we finished the roof I don't know how she can blame that on me. Derick is a friend that I work with all the time , he did not take over the job he was just helping me. Derick did not tell her the roof needed to be redone. The permit was not reopened 2 times, I was out there with the inspector and he told me the things that needed to be done and he did reopen it for the final. Her shower was not damaged, a shingle dropped off the roof and left a black mar on the side of the shower It was easily cleaned off. she just did not like the color she picked out and wanted it changed for free."

SCOTT POST IS A GOOD BUSINESSMAN. HE ACTUALLY DID MUCH OF THE WORK HIMSELF ALONG WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES. HE UNDERSTANDS BUSINESS AND GUARDS HIS REPUTATION BY GETTING THE JOB DONE . THE ROOF WAS BEING INSTALL BY ANOTHER CONTRACTOR AND HE COORDINATED WITH THEM, WORKING ON THE WEEKEND TO GET THE STRAPS INSTALLED. AFTER DEALING WITH CITIZENS INSURANCE I WOULD PROBABLY NOT INSTALL THE HURRICANE STRAPS, BUT I HAVE NO PROBLEM HAVING SCOTT POST DO WORK FOR ME.
