There was no work done because the owner couldn't get out of his own way in lecturing me on how amazing with his pool knowledge. He was extremely rude.

All repair requests were addressed immediately. Cleaning was performed as scheduled. I used Michael's for routine cleaning, ongoing maintenance and occasional repairs over 12 years. They were very responsive to repair requests and performed cleaning services on time and on schedule. I highly recommend them for all your pool needs!

Called on a Tuesday morning and Daniel was out there that afternoon and they had a estimate for me on Friday. Did the job on Monday and as I said everything is working perfectly. I might add had other companies out before Michael's and they wanted nothing to do with the cast iron piping.

We had used Michael's Pool service and Repairs for over 4 years for our weekly pool maintenance. The best thing about this provider was they had bern able to come at a specific time each week so that my dogs could be locked inside while their tech was here.

When Michael's initially came out to see our pool they suggested a fairly lengthy list of repairs. My husband declined this as he felt it was questionable that so many repairs were needed on a pool that appeared to work well. In the years that Michael's maintained the pool we managed without most of these suggested repairs.

On Thursday, 7/23/15 I received an email from Michael's after 3:00 AM. The email was labeled "Severe Scheduling Issues" and it had a handwritten PDF attached to it that said "Cancellation Notice." My first thought was how strange it was to receive something labeled in such a contradictory way. My second thought was that my weekly service was to have happened in 5 hours and instead we were being dropped with no notice or provocation on our part. Also, this has been a particularly rainy summer. Without even one week's notice in which to find a new cmpany I was concerned that we would have a green pool in no time at all.

We had always paid our bill promptly as Michael's had our credit card number on file. We hadn't done anythng to warrant being dropped in such an unprofessional manner and it is for this reason that my review of Michael's is so low.

Michael's note said that they had to fire two emloyees and it was impossible for them to meet our needs in the future. They said they were d*** their best to stay in business.

i wrote and said.I could have been flexible and worked with their schedule if I had received the courtesy of a phone call and 24 hours notice. I did not receive a response to this.

Fortunately I was able to quickly fnd a highly rated provider on Angie's List to replace Michael's. Happily enough this new firm provides more than just chemicals and checking the filter in their service, which also costs $5 less per month than Michaell's. They also brush the steps and edges of the pool too.

I have a company who does my pool maintenance. They also do repairs, but they've come out 3 times to determine the cause of a leak and each time they said they didn't see a leak. So I called Michael's. They came out and determined I had a cracked pool filter and they fixed it. He seemed to have a lot of experience with this particular type of pool filter and the problems it is prone to. He suggested I get a different brand when I replaced it. I felt I could trust him. When they put in the pipes, I ended up having to fix something. I would call them and get their advice, but I might compare before using them again because of the pipe issue.

We were very pleased with their service, they came regularly and did a very good job. Our pool always looked great. We hired them since my husband was going to be out of the country for a few months with the intention of cancelling the service when he got back. He was sure that no service would do as good a job on the pool as he did. Well, we didn't cancel their service, my husband admitted that they did an excellent job, as good a job as he did, and their prices were reasonable. We only cancelled service since we sold the house and moved out of the area. We recommended Michael's to the new owners and I'm pretty sure they contacted them for service. Juan was the young man who came most of the time. He was always polite and thorough. They leave a checklist each time they come that covers everything they did, including the actual chemical readings for the day.

I called on 5/27/14 to get a quote on cleaning my pool for the next 2 or 3 months. I offered the person that answered the phone the pool dimensions but she said that Michael would need to see the pool in order to give me a quote. She told me that he would be at my house on 5/29/14 between Noon and 2:00 pm. I took that time off from work and waited. at 2:35 after not hearing from him I called and was told he was in South Tampa and running late. I told Misty that I needed to get back to work and asked if she could give me an estimate of what time he would be here. She told me that he could be here in 5 minutes or several hours. I gave her the dimensions of the pool again in an attempt to get a phone estimate since no one knew when he could get here, look at the pool and give me an estimate. Misty put me on hold to ask a co worker for a quote. She then came back to me with an estimate that was 50% higher than the 2 highest estimates that I had received from two other providers.
In the end they wasted my time, caused me to lose three hours of work and then tried to gouge me. Sounds like they owe me money!

The Good / Excellent:
Michael's Pool Service provided me a quote some time ago and was able to come out within two days of my agreeing to it. That was really nice. The receptionist was friendly and easy to work with. The work appears to be of good quality. Everything was neatly put back together, and the sand was dumped in the area requested (they will not take the sand with them, so you have to find a place in your yard to dispose of it).
The Not so good:
I found the price quoted for the Pintair 200 Cartridge Filter at $587.25 was about $100 more than any place I could find the filter on my own. Being that I was in a bit of a rush, I did not question this at the time. The line item for labor was $150, but I look at it as $250 for labor since it appears the price of the filter was marked up. Maybe this is what their dealer charges them, in which case, I'd recommend they look around for another dealer with better prices.
Conclusion: I really like the service I got from Michael's and would use them again. The only thing I might do differently is take the time beforehand to research the price of parts before agreeing to a quote.

This was some good work. Michael's pool service came out to the house to give us a free estimate. Michael spoke with me on the phone since I could not be there in person. He explained the different options available and suggested repairing the old pump would be more cost effective than purchasing a new one. Michael quoted me prices for everything upfront. Later checking showed that his prices were at cost for parts + reasonable labor. And just like that, the pump was fixed! It runs very quiet now. Camilo, the technician who performed the work, also fixed the electrical conduit running from the pump to the electric box.
They also left me a quote for some other work they felt needed to be done (and probably should be rather soon). I was very pleased with the overall job. I look forward to working with Michael's company again.

This company is amazing! I wish I had found them 3 years ago. From the moment I called to seek an estimate I have received wonderful customer service. The ladies in the office are terrific and funny I might add. They answer all of my questions and get back with me promptly. The young man who cleans my pool is polite and does a professional job. He never takes short cuts and also answers my questions. He cares about my pool and calls if I need to add water or have any issues that need to be addressed. They also recommended the company I used to re-plaster my pool and I was as happy with them as I am with Michaels! This company is truly customer friendly and professional. I highly recommend them!

They replaced the filter, added an automatic chlorinator and reestablished our existing pump and replumbed the entire system charging $1400. We noted that there was air intrusion in the pump and called their office to have them come and check on it. They said they would come when they had someone available. Several days later Michael came to the door demanding his money from a guest at my home who happened to answer the door. I did not look closely at the bill they left and did not realize that he expected payment in 3 days. I immediately called his office, apoligized and put the check in the mail. I was very embarrassed that he would be so rude to my guest. When the weekly pool service man came we enquired as to when they were going to be back to work on the pump. He said he would relay the message as he didn't know. Later that week I called the office and asked about it.They said they were short of help but would try to get someone out. I waited approximately another week and called again..and was told pretty much the same thing. Sometime during this period the pump ran dry and the filter pressure dropped to zero. I shut the pool off and called their office. They told me to shut the pool off and they would be there to look at it. Four days later the monthly pool service man came on his regular day and fixed that problem. Again we asked him when they were going to address the pump problem and got no answer. The next morning I called them again and was told there were coming out to dig. When they did come they confronted my house guest again getting in an argument with him over who was responsible for the several pavers that they broke when they came to replumb the pool the first time. They did not repair the air intrusion problem. Michael and his helper were extremely unprofessional, rude and argumentative, speaking with a person who has no control over the situation. I am the home owner and he should have contacted me if there was a problem. After giving them years of my business and always paying my monthly charges on time I think this is a very poor way to treat a loyal customer. I am through with them and want to warn other perspective customers-to stay away from them.

I was very happy with the service and advice provided by Michael's Pool Service and Repair and would not hesitate to call them again for future pool servicing. .The main circuit board on the pool's chlorine generator stopped working. The pool servicing provider that I was using for bi-weekly pool maintenance quoted me a price of $600, not including labor to replace the part, and they informed me the replacement part would not include any kind of warranty. They also did not know how quickly they would be able to make the repair because they were very busy and had just lost of one of their employees. As I had just used my pool servicing providers to replace the multi-port value and filter grid system (to the tune of $1200), which took them almost a month to repair after continuously not showing up as promised, I decided to join Angie's list to find a qualified provider, which is how I found Michael's Pool Service and Repair.

The rep from Michael's quoted me a total of $347 which included the cost of the part (with a 1-year warranty), additional chemicals for the pool and labor to replace the part. I also received a 20% discount as a member of Angie's list. The repair was made within 24 hours and the rep followed-up the day after the repair was made to ensure the chlorine generator was working properly and the pool chemicals were in balance.

A a result of the service I received from Michael's Pool Service, I fired the other company I had been using to service my pool. Michael's only provides full-service pool maintenance and I have salt water pool that doesn't require weekly attention so I am now maintaining the pool myself. The rep from Michael's took the time to explain to me (a first time pool owner) how easy it is to maintain a salt water pool. He could have easily taken advantage of my inexperience and encouraged me to go with a full-service pool maintenance plan but he didn't. To that end, if I ever need any kind of pool repairs again, Michael's Pool Service would be the first place I would call. They have earned my trust.

This was our best pool service yet atleast for the first year to year and a half. Over the last 4-6 months the service has gone downhill to the point of the bottom of our pool blackening, constant dirt in the pool, yellow algae starting to form as of the past couple of weeks. We had friday service for a long time than got relegated to Tuesday service. I am a patient person and did not want to go through the hassle of finding another company. After my granchildren did not want to go in the pool over the weekend because it was too dirty I called and spoke to the owner. I'm sure after 39 years of pool service he is very knowlegeable. The conversation went something like this: I have copper in my pool and the cost to remove it would be high also the dirt and algae on my screen must be coming into the pool. Come to find out after further investigation that the blackening in the pool is from not keeping chemicals at a proper level, the dirt in the pool comes from well you can figure that one out.
Not quite sure how to grade this company as they went from A+ to F in the past 6 months.

We have used Michaels Pool Service for about a year. They performed weekly service as well as several repair and maintenance issues, mostly over the last few months, which have totaled over $1,000.00. Apparently now that they have collected the bulk amount of money from us, we were informed that they did not have the manpower to be able to service our pool on a weekly basis. The owner claims it due to a leak in the pool, which we actually just had repaired by purchasing an Angie's List Daily Deal, but didn't use the leak detector company recommended by Michaels. Their complaint included the amount of chemicals they needed to put in the pool each week ..... Isn't that why we pay $100.00 a month? Apparently the profit margin isn't high enough on our pool for them to continue providing us service!! I highly recommend that you DO NOT use this company. They will get the most $$ out of you on repairs and/or equipment replacement, and then cancel your service if they have too work h****** weekly maintenance. I am amazed by the lack of professionalism!

Worst business ever--DO NOT hire these people. They took six weeks to order equipment, then installed it wrong. They programmed my spa to run nine hours each day, using up an entire 100 gallon propane tank, costing me $400.00, then said they fixed it but didn't, which caused the new tank to burn up, costing me another $472.00! They have lied and said it was fixed numerous times and here I am eight months after the original call to purchase the service, and it still doesn't work! I am suing them.

I called Michael's on Friday, June 7th and was pleased to find they could do the work on Saturday as most pool companies do not work on the weekend. Michael installed the pool pump I provided in short time. Job went smoothly and Michael was very professional.
