Bill was right on time and very personable. He came right in and got to work. Made my piano sound like it was brand new. Already have the next appointment scheduled.

Bill arrived on time as scheduled and went right to work. He spent approximately an hour tuning my baby grand piano, and then answered questions I had when he was finished. I use Bill on a semiannual basis to tune my piano, and he is always prompt and does a wonderful job. I highly recommend him!

Bill had already tuned my recently acquired 1926 Kimball baby grand piano, and during that visit he assessed the condition and made some recommendations as to work that might be done to improve the piano's playing. This encompassed replacement of the key bushings to eliminate the side to side movement in the keys, regulate the action, and voice the hammers. We scheduled this well in advance, as Bill would need to remove the action from my piano and take it to his shop to perform most of the work. When Bill removed the action and was able to inspect it, he found a few minor issues present, such as treble hammers having been replaced but the tails not having been properly tapered and some wear in the damper linkage. Bill took the action to his shop and returned a week later at the time agreed upon. He spent over two hours reinstalling the action, regulating and voicing, along with repairing the damper pedal linkage. When complete, the piano sounded (to me) as if it were new! As soon as Bill left I spent an hour playing non-stop, as I couldn't believe how good it sounded! With the repairs and regulation that Bill did, I was able to play so much better than I ever have with this piano, as I could now feel the action and modulate the sound far better than before. As far as I am concerned, Bill gave me a new piano today. Thank you, Bill!

I contacted Mr. McKaig upon the arrival of my piano regarding having it tuned and regulated. We set an appointment for a few weeks ahead at that time, as he suggested that the piano should have time to acclimate to its new location. When the day and time of the appointment arrived, Mr. McKaig was on time as promised. He gave my piano a quick assessment, determined what my expectations were, and commenced tuning the piano. After he had a few minutes with the instrument, he stopped and took time to go over the condition of the piano and describe what I might and might not expect from it, due to its age and condition. He took time to explain things in detail in a manner which allowed me to understand what he was explaining, as well as offering his suggestions for what did and did not make good sense as far as potential work that could be performed. He then finished tuning the piano, after which we once again discussed and planned for future work. I was greatly impressed with Mr. McKaig's willingness to work with me in determining what would be the best approach to get the most performance out of a piano that is nearly 90 years old and of marginal value. His candor in assessing the piano's condition and offering his professional advice as to what what the best and quot;bang for the buckand quot; would be to make it serviceable was greatly appreciated. I felt confident that his recommendations took my concerns into consideration and were not based on what would yield the most profit for him. With this in mind I have already scheduled additional work to be performed in January. I am looking forward to having a very good instrument that will serve me well for a few years, thanks to Mr. McKaig's skill and professionalism.
