McConnie Fence

In 2017, I purchased a new home and McConnie Fence was highly recommended from a close friend. They installed my fence with professionalism and knowledge. Their service was exceptional. Fast forward to today, 1/13/25, as I write this, my fence held up extremely well through hurricane's Helene and Milton! The only damage I had, was one of my gates took a beating to the wind of Milton. However, it still stood strong. Today, McConnie came to fix that gate, with the same professionalism and excellence. I would highly recommend this company, who is reputable, honest and fairly priced.

I was very pleased with the installer, Nelson, and the quality of his workmanship. He worked really hard and the fence was done sooner than I would have expected. I appreciated his professionalism and friendliness. I would definitely hire McConnie Fencing, and Nelson again. Anthony as a supervisor was also a pleasure to work with.

I am not giving this company an F as they did show up an install fence. However, EVERY rainy season since install (10/2015) I have had to call them to fix a leaning fence. Each time I have had to get mad to get some response. They have been out here 4x to install extra support posts. Now, the extra support posts are leaning! I have called 3 times now and have not heard back. (no one is in the office) I have more wood in the back yard than a forest! Have been told by 2 other fence companies and a handy man that fence and posts are not installed either correctly or deep enough and that I should contact them. Currently on the hook to pay another company $1000 more to have it corrected, and that is just for a partial fix. I paid good money for this fence and should not have to be troubled every year.

End product is great. The sales rep was responsive and informative. Not pushy. The actual install date was a bit vague. it took a while to get scheduled, then came off kind of funny. We called to inquire about when install was going to happen and we're told tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and installer calls out sick. Eventually happened a day or two later and the fence looks great.

The 2 workers were friendly & took pride in their work. The price was very competitive but it was the owner's job to clear plants off the line & find the pins. The workers actually found 2 pins (survey provided)!

Came at the time of appointment, removed old wooden fence and installed new vinyl. Fine job, reasonable and efficient.

The initial bid experience was great. Kimberly was on time, knowledgeable, and professional.  She explained the options and provided a good bid.  Unfortunately that's where the good part ended. 
After I called to tell them we wanted to move forward, they took my deposit and said we would receive a call to schedule the installation.  Well days passed an nobody called.  So I called back and was assured I was on the schedule for "next week" but couldn't get anything solid.  Finally, after calling everyday for a week, they said the guy would be there next Thursday morning. (Keep in mind that I was calling them--nobody ever called me.)  At about noon on Thursday I called to see if he was actually coming, and they said he had some trouble on a job the day before, and wouldn't make it out until Friday morning.  Friday morning was a no-show. I called to see what was going on, and they said he is picking up the material and will be there later today. Finally around 4pm on Friday he shows up in a busted-up trailer with three wheels and a story about how his co-worker didn't want to be there so he was just going to drop the supplies and come back in the morning with a new worker.  Saturday rolls around.  It was raining and nobody shows up, and nobody calls me to explain what is going on. Finally on Sunday he shows up to do the work.  The demolition was fine, and the fence installation was fine. But the gates were not built to plan.  I specified board-on-board, and he built the first one in shadowbox.  Well by that point I was fed up and didn't want the job stretching into another day, so I told him to just leave it.
Bottom line: the bid was good, the price was good, and except for screwing up one gate, the work was acceptable. But the communication was HORRIBLE.
Would I use them again?  Based on the cost I might. But I would proceed with low expectations and I would expect to be on the job site the entire time to make sure the work was done correctly.

The fence was installed quickly, and the old fence removed entirely. The quality of the fence is adequate, and our only complaint is that 2 sprinkler heads were broken in the process. The contract makes it clear that the company is not responsible for "underground sprinklers," which may be a typical stipulation with fence companies. However, we were not told that the heads were broken and, thus, flooded our yard the next time we watered. When we notified the company, we were reminded about the contract stipulation but told that our $35.00 cost to replace the heads would be returned to us. And, it was, after a couple of months and a few reminders.

Overall, though, the quality of the product, installation and price was acceptable.

The initial work had some defects, but McConnie fence was responsive and corrected the problem. The finished fence is beautiful and the job well done.

I decided to focus on this company based on the comments I found in Angies List. After contacting some fence companies I finally decided to go with McConnie. Gary was very good at explaining all the details and addressed all my questions to my satisfaction. In addition, he provided a great crew to do the job. The construction team showed up on time, did a professional job, and cleaned up my yard after the project was completed. In addition, the fence is of the highest quality. Many of my neighbors are very impressed with the quality and appearance of our new fence. I will definitely use McConnie again. Thank You Gary for a great job....

I went with McConnie because they were $250 less than another company. I hired them once before. They put up a wooden fence when I first moved into my home.

The job went very well. My neighbor had a bunch of tomato pots and stuff scattered all over and they were very patient with him on getting the stuff off the fence line area, helped him out (he is olderly) and were complete gentlemen. They repaired an old fence line and did it quick, bringing it back like new etc.

Our neighbors behind us decided to replace the old fence without letting us know. I have plants that were attached to the fence and if I didn't happen to be home that morning my plants would have been destroyed. I ran outside and asked the workers to stop so I had a chance to take my plants down, which they kindly did. Since we were getting a new fence along the rear of my yard my husband and I decided to replace the side fence.
I called the company for a quote, Gary Painter came out right away and we got a quote. We discussed this with our neighbor on that side (which is the polite thing to do!) and decided to replace the fence. They came when they said they would, did a great job of removing the old fence and putting the new one up. You would not have known that work was done in my yard.
So move along to the other side of my yard and those neighbors decided to replace the fence (which they discussed with us) and so McConnie Fence did that side too.
This time I had a little issue as we had plants on that fence too and my husband took the time to take those down and clean the area so that the workers and places to walk. However, some of my plants were trampled to death. I did call to let Gary know that I wasn't happy and he called me back right away. The plants can be replaced so that really isn't the point, it's the lack of care that was displayed that upset me. Gary made me feel much better after our conversation. All in all, I would highly recommend them.

I have used them in the prior ten years. I am familiar with them and they are good. I will continue to use them.

We needed an extension to an existing fence and the work appeared seamless as if the fence was all built at the same time. Very pleased with the outcome.

The work went smoothly from written estimate to full completion. The fence is right sturdy as well. I have had bad experiences with other contractors who workers cussed, left debris, and generally sort of scared my wife. Not true with these guys. Very professional.

I had a breakdown in meeting with the salesman but Kimberly stepped in and did everything to make up for the problem. Got everything squared away including some questions I encountered after receiving the bid. After getting the bids, McConnie was right on budget for the fence and had what I thought was the best product. We scheduled the installation and right on time, the installers showed up. They took great care to make sure the plants and low voltage lighting was protected while they worked. Had the fence installed in three hours, put all the mulch back, cleaned up and were gone. They even provided the total release of lien that I requested.

Great experience and I have received a lot of compliments on the new fence. Several people have asked me who did it and I told them McConnie Fence. Would recommend them, particularly Kimberly, in a heartbeat.

I first used the company 15 years ago when I came to this house. However, I wasn’t happy with them the last time when they came. They brought in a guy who took out the broken panel and left. He didn’t come back till the next day. He just disappeared. I had dogs and it was just wide open. I really wasn’t happy at all. I called the company and told them that I cannot just leave it open. They came back the next day and put it back. Their price was pretty cheap.

They arrived several days late to start the job, then delayed finishing. They left piles of lumber in our neighbors yard and wouldnt come move it until I threatened to cancel the contract. They said the job would take one day. It took six and the job was not completed according to specifications.

I WAS SATISFIED AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM. MY ONLY MINOR PROBLEM WAS NOT GETTING A RETURN PHONE CALL.
