I contacted Linda because of the exceptional reviews on Angie's List. She lived up to every one of those reviews. As one recent client said, she goes WAY above and beyond, leaving no stone unturned. To her, it like a treasure hunt, I think. I got the sense she really enjoys the game! I really don't know what I expected. I've never hired a genealogist before, but it was clear that we needed professional help. Linda kept in close touch throughout the process, explaining that she needed to follow every lead, and that my grandfather was a fairly complicated mystery! I understood why when she sent the report and in it explained all the possibilities she had been pursuing. That's what professionals do... and what I'm not very good at on ancestry.com. They examine all the documentation, consider similarly spelled surnames. Linda has such knowledge about records that are no longer available often because of fire, what ages were targeted in what drafts during WWII (for example), what information might be available from where. Astounding, really. There were many many examples of her extensive knowledge. The report, when it came, was super comprehensive, complete with photos from the period ("Your grandfather might have worked on these cars!"). When she found where he worked, as an example, she included information about the company. Those sorts of details made the report so much more meaningful than if she had simply sketched out a family tree! In my grandfather's day, explained Linda, it was easy to say one thing in one census and another in the next. Or to give false information on a draft card. Apparently, there was no way to check or people didn't check... Sometimes people completely reinvented themselves, apparently, and names were often taken down phonetically. I'm still working and don't have the time or patience to do what Linda does. More importantly, I don't have the knowledge, skill set, experience, and passion to do what she does so brilliantly. She's a real find, and I highly recommend her! In fact, I plan to have her draw up a comprehensive family tree one day soon. I've promised her that the rest of the family will be easy by comparison! In the meantime, if you're looking for a genealogist to solve a mystery in your family, I highly recommend Linda!

I will assume that almost everyone reading this review is considering performing some type of genealogy or background search and may have questions such as should I perform it myself?, Should I reach out to Linda for more information on her services?, Should I reach out to some of the larger online genealogy service providers instead? These were the questions I had when I began reading the sterling reviews of Linda's services a few months ago. I was very impressed by the comments previous clients had of Linda's above and beyond service efforts and how she made each search effort very personal and gave 150%. I initially was hoping to find a genealogy service expert and these reviews made me realize how much better it would be to find an expert who viewed the search as being as important and personal as I believed it was. I am very happy to report I am a very satisfied client of Linda. I wish Angie's List had an A++ ranking because Linda's services exceeded the highest Angie's List ranking of A that I was able to select. To give you sense of how far above and beyond Linda went from my initial service expectations I will just provide a high level summary of the search she performed. I had a family member who lost their immediate relatives very early in life but had retained a family history table that was over a century old. My request was to assist in developing a more complete short term and long term family history summary. With this limited information Linda developed an excellent extensive family history summary with numerous new details. These efforts and the resulting report had already exceeded my expecatations. Incredibly as an additional item (as this was not something I requested or ever assumed would happen) Linda was also able to locate and communicate with living extended family members who had lost touch with my family member over 20 years ago. Linda kept my search confidential and asked if we would like to connect with these extended family members. Our family members have all reconnected and are thrilled beyond words - we would never have had this wonderful opportunity if it was not for Linda and her efforts. I will never be able to thank Linda enough for her efforts and the rewards we have received based on her efforts. Thank you Linda!

Linda stated that she did not live in my area and would not be able to assist me. Although we are living in the age of technology; I found it interesting that she did not want to investigate via computer and other social websites as a means to gather information. But who am I to judge after all I am not an investigator

The process went very well. I was looking for a genealogical report for my grandfather on my fathers side. Linda did an excellent job of finding more information than I thought existed.

I cannot fault the results and they will assist me greatly in my quest to find this person.

What a wonderful, kind, ethical woman Linda is! As stated above, I wound up not using her services because she and I decided that it would not be feasible for me to initiate the search for the person I am trying to find, based on the very limited information that I have to go on in finding her -- in order to deliver just a brief, one-time message. But after e-mailing back and forth in order to determine if her services were a correct fit for my needs, I am so impressed with Linda! She responded promptly to my initial inquiry here on Angie's List; and when I e-mailed her privately with more details about what I was trying to accomplish with my search, she responded promptly to that as well. She is very sweet and caring, and I know that she would be wonderful to work with. I would not hesitate for a single second to contact her in the future if I am trying to locate someone, or with a genealogical inquiry.

I have been trying to find my father for several years now through internet and public record searches, but to no avail. It had been 15 years since I last saw my father and it was almost like he had fallen of the grid. I finally decided to hire someone and reached out to Linda based on other Angie?s list reviews. I had never used such a service before but assumed that someone in this line of work would have access to non-public records - like driver?s license/social security databases or utility records, etc. When Linda told me she did not have access to those particular information sources I became discouraged and almost did not proceed. After all, I had been looking for several years using publically available information ? what would she find that I hadn?t? I finally decided to proceed ? I thought for her $250 retainer it was worth seeing what she could find. My expectations at that point were pretty low, but I thought that perhaps Linda would turn up a fresh lead that I could follow. I clearly underestimated her? A week or so later she sent me a very thorough report of her findings, including pictures and document excerpts that did include many leads. And then I saw the golden nugget ? an address in a town only 2 hours away that she had triangulated from multiple data points and thought was current. I immediately cancelled my afternoon meetings and hopped in the car. I could hardly believe it when I knocked on the door and my dad was there. And even more shocked that my grandmother was there as well ? she?s in her 90?s and I didn?t think she would still be alive, much less in the same house! So we had a long overdue family reunion that night and made plans for the next visit before a tearful goodbye the next morning when I had to return home. Linda gave me my family back and gave me a chance to reconnect before it was too late, which is truly priceless. I would highly recommend Linda?s services to anyone who is trying to find a lost friend or loved one.

Overall, everything went very well. I obtained contact information that I couldn't find on my own.

Linda did an outstanding job. Her work was thorough, clean, concise, and timely. If you are interested in a very highly skilled geneologist, I highly recommend Linda.

Linda really helped me a lot and it was definitely worth it. I definitely recommend Linda when you get stuck! It was very hard to part with my $250 because I expected the cost to be lower based on previous reviews. Linda explained that her prices had gone up; she actually charges for ten hours minimum at $50 an hour, but agreed to do only 5 hours since I am a student. I had very high expectations for what Linda would find for me and I have admit I was a bit disappointed when I received her report. It was very long so I expected to find a lot of information in it, but a lot of it was just large font size / spacing. Specifically, I wanted to be sure of my ancestor's maiden name and find out her place of birth. However, the report did not have her place of birth and it was still unclear what her maiden name was because it appears differently in different places. The best thing about the report was that Linda gave me the information needed to order her marriage certificate from the city of New York. A few weeks later when this came in the mail (and I NEVER would have figured out that I should order it or even how to without Linda, so this is all thanks to her), it had her correct maiden name AND her parents' names on it. It turns out I gave poor Linda the wrong name for my great-great-grandmother's mother (both first and last were completely different), so of course she didn't find her easily! I was very happy to have the correct name of my great-great-grandmother's parents, all thanks to Linda! By some sort of wonderful coincidence, Linda emailed me the same day I got the marriage certificate in the mail to see if I had been able to get new information from it. I told her what I found and she actually (and very quickly) found and emailed me records of where my great-great-grandmother was born, where her parents were married, and what is probably the record of her mother's birth. Wow! So although I was disappointed at first, I ended up getting much more information than I initially asked for. I was even able to find some family trees on ancestry.com once I had the info Linda sent. I tried to ask her where she found it so quickly, but she isn't giving away her secrets. In the end, Linda gave me much more information than I hoped to find, it just took awhile because some of the information was only available by mail order. Linda responds to emails quickly and definitely genuinely cares about her work. Highly recommended!

She was extremely helpful. She gave me all of the information over the phone. She told me he ended up being a identity thief. She was very nice, caring, concerning, and super helpful. She found out the SSN of the man I was talking with belonged to someone who had their identity stolen. I did check out online and found the actual person who belonged to the SSN. I would definately use her again. She knows her stuff inside and out. I would recommend her to anyone.

My experience with Linda was fantastic. I had to get some sensitive information from a person in my past. She got right on it, found what I needed, and sensitively communicating it to me. Linda was prompt, professional, compassionate and sensitive. I can't say enough about how helpful she was. She started with very little information, and, in a very short time, came back to me with highly detailed and credible information. She is a real "pro." I would go back to her for help readily.

I found Linda here on Angie's list and hired her based on all of her positive reviews. She was a joy to work with. Always responded to emails right away and has such a great attitude. She really takes pleasure in her work and her reports are well done and very interesting. I would recommend her highly to anyone looking for her services.

I met a woman recently who gave me her contact information, which I promptly lost before I had a chance to even use it. I searched all the normal routes myself (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc.) but was unable to find anything. I was in a hurry to find her contact information so I contacted Linda. Remembering bits and pieces of information of the woman's history during a conversation she and I had, and only knowing her first name, I gave everything I knew to Linda. Within 2 days Linda was able to track down the woman's Facebook page (which was not under her real name) and I was able to contact the woman through her Facebook account. Linda's method was very creative and her final report on the search left me very impressed. If I ever have a person search need again, I will most definitely look to Linda first.

Linda was very sensitive to my plight. When I contacted her, she got back to me immediately. She did not give me any false hope. She let me know that it would be a long shot to be able to find my nephew with so little information. In addition, I had to take into consideration that she was trying to locate a person in another country after over 35 years. In that period of time, anything could have happened to him. However, I wanted her to go forward anyway to see if she could help me in any small way. Well , Linda was not able to locate my nephew. However she did write up and send me an extensive report that gave me some important information and possible leads that could be of value in my search. Many of the suggestions in her report represented things that I had never thought of doing. I immediately started following through with her many suggestions. I made phone calls and e-mailed various people and agencies that were listed in her report. I am still searching for my nephew. However, I believe that I am now moving in the correct direction. Thanks to Linda. I know that I might ultimately have to hire an investigator in the Philippines, but that is my last resort. I truly liked Linda's approach to her work. She is honest, professional, and she shows concern, respect, and a special sensitivity for her clients and their situation. I recommend her highly and would use her again for other future investigations.

Guess What? She went back to the 1600's. WOW!! AMAZING!! She sent me a 108 page report. We found out more than we had expected. So, if you're looking for your family tree, check out LET LINDA LOCATE. Well worth the money

After contacting Linda and describing my quest, I requested an estimate then mailed her my paper work. In about a week, Linda answered my specific questions, added bonus information and provided documentation for everything via a 50pg PDF back at me! SO EFFICIENT!!!! The process was completed very effectively via e-mail. I never even spoke to Linda in person!

From my first contact with Linda she was very upfront about the chances of finding this address. We communicated by email several times and she was always prompt to reply. I decided to have her give it a try knowing my odds. She was able to give me a ton of information on this person which I am sure will lead to the address I wanted. Linda is very professional, and her services are well worth her fee. I would highly recommend her.

I asked Linda to help me locate my great Uncle. I did not have a firm name but gave her one of four possible names he might have used entering this country in the 1920's. She found him in three weeks, and he had used a fifth version of his name!!!Linda was amazing giving me a detailed history and linking each fact to the previous one etc... She even gave me the letters I would need to send out to get next of kin information etc...All in all a very positive experience. I would hire her again in a minute.Thank you, thank you !!!

Linda was amazing! I provided her with the little amount of information I had available and she ran with it. She was very prompt in answering my questions and responding to my emails. The report she provided was outstanding! In fact, I am planning on working with her again soon to find out about other family members.

Overall, the experience with Linda has been wonderful. She has provided me with missing information that I have wanted to know about for decades and just didn't know where to start. My search was an unusual one and I believe that by the end, she was as interested in finding the information as I was. From the report(s) that she completed, three in all, I could see that she not only cared about providing a complete history about my family but also giving me an idea of what it was like to live in that same era. You don't just get family tree information, it is much more complete than that. I thank you Linda for the services you have provided not only for me but for generations to come. Bravo....
