LA Fitness - Tampa

Training is individualized.

when i moved to Tampa from NY finding a good gym was very important to my boyfriend and myself. we checked out a few local gyms and werent impressed with what we saw, especially not for the money they charge. we walked into this LA fitness which was fairly new at the time. the overall appearance was nice, the staff was helpful and took us on a tour. they wanted to make a sale so they worked with us on a price and promtional options available to us. we have been going to this gym since 2011 and have looked at other places as they pop up but always end up right back. there is hardly ever a huge crowd so there is limited to no wait time for machine use. it is always clean and the machines are usually all operable and if they are broken the reapir time is usually quick. they offer a great variety of classes and the schedule is diverse and made to fit all types of life styles. i especially like that they rotate class times so that if you like 2 classes but can only come in the evening you can take both of the classes at some point during the week.

I like that it is convenient. I don't like that the equipment isn't always in great repair. I also don't like that they do not post the biographies of their personal trainers. Like when you are picking your personal trainer, you would want to know what qualifications they have and where they got them. They don't provide any of that. Their service was okay but I didn't get the results that I was looking for. There was also a difference in opinion of what's effective for women like risking with heavy weights and lighter weights.

Great place and great price.

The Salesperson was nice enough but not real out going. The place was small and most of the guys there were really more muscle builder types. The thing that was good was they had a indoor pool and spa but was small. They only had disinfected lotion on the walls and just wasn't the place for us, a family needing a work out area we felt comfortable in.

Situation explained above.

They charge me $24 as monthly membership fee. They just bought Lifestyle which is where I was going to and now that they have bought Lifestyle they obviously have more centers. LA Fitness hasn't been in there; maybe only for a few weeks now and they really have not got into whatever it is that they are going to do. The equipment and stuff is in good working order and they have quite a variety. It's a new acquisition for LA Fitness.

They have a lot of different exercise equipment.

It is big, convenient and a really nice place. The locker rooms and the pool area are nice. They have TVs on every treadmill. They have very good professional trainers and front desk staff. They have multiple locations around the country and I can go to any of the locations.

I've only been there for two months. The guy who sold me the membership was great. I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. I can go to any L.A. Fitness Center.

They are excellent.
