Logan and Brian were outstanding to work with. We were having unprecedented heat conditions during this project and they kept in touch and worked as diligently and safely as they could under these circumstances. The new deck looks awesome and came in at the price we were quoted. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I highly recommend Jack O' Trades. The work was completed on time and on budget. Logan stayed in constant contact with me and responded quickly to all my questions. Brian did amazing work. The screened enclosure turned out better than I hoped. Very professional. Quality workmanship!

Just a few criticisms: Handy man arrived but didn't give me a written estimate nor business card; he just quoted me a price $400.00 to do the 4 projects that I needed done. Well, he said he had 2 cancelations when I spoke to him the pervious day. When spoke the estimate, I just said "that's too high", I'll give the owner/manager a call which I did & left a message regarding lowering the price. The manager emailed me the invoice without a price. The handyman said he could ask if he could do the 4 projects the next day which he did do them & where done satisfactory. When the owner contacted me he said the price was $495 plus the credit card fee 3%. I complained about the price being even higher then what the handyman said. There was no paper with a quote on it in the initial meeting with the handyman. I wouldn't have hired anyone wanting a payment of $400.00 for the 4 project types that I had; but I paid the $400.00 without paying the 3% credit card fee. MBH Port Richey
Response from Jack O Trades
"We did not quote a price of $400... our written estimate that Mary received prior to approving the work to commence was $495 labor plus any materials. Then, once the work was done, she did not want to pay the $495 and brought up what she explained in the review above, all after the fact, which is completely unfair. To try and help the situation I reduced her bill to the $400 that was made up out of thin air, but we're somehow in the wrong here... love it when something like this happens!"

They were a lifesaver on this one. We bought a sofa bed that turned out to be too large to fit through a bedroom door. They were able to take apart the door molding piece by piece to get the sofa bed in the room. They then restored the molding and painted, it looks like new. Quick scheduling too, so the sofabed wasn't sitting in our living room too long. Very much appreciated!

They helped me address a corrosion problem in an outdoor bathroom -- essentially, replacing everything "metal" (e.g., sink and toilet plumbing pipes, sink faucet, cabinet door knobs and hinges). The worker (Kenny) was exceptional in problem-solving and attention to detail. His work "saved" my vanity cabinet (i.e., didn't have to replace it because of his work). I used Jack O Trades for a prior project (installing an attic ladder) and so glad I contacted them again. For house projects, they're now my GO-TO handyman company.

Troy was outstanding - this was something I really needed today and he made a special trip over and was a tremendous help in getting it all done. This was my first time meeting him and he was extremely pleasant and helpful. I certainly recommend him and he will be my go-to guy on all future projects around our house.

The project turned out great. The folks with Jack O' Trades are always a pleasure to work with. They helped up realize the vision we had for the living room space and accommodated a change we made along the way. The work was excellent. Our on site carpenter, Dave, was honest, thorough and professional. He was careful to point out issues and get my approval to fix them. He saved some wood from the old deck to keep costs down. He even worked through the rain and hurricane evac warnings. He was a solid guy, the kind you don’t find often. He took pride in his work. The backend admin support was solid too. We will have additional projects and I’ll use them again.

Perfectly done. Louvered doors open onto sturdy shelving. A specially constructed opening to the plumbing allows the condensate from my dehumidifier to drain into the drain pipes in my condominium. The new storage room is aesthetic and useful.

Jack o' Trades delivered quality work on my odd jobs around the house. Things didn't go as expected in some cases, and David's expertise allowed him to gracefully adapt to the situation and find a quality resolution. The owner, Logan, worked with me to make sure I understood my options, and leveraged his own relationships to make sure I had the expertise needed to complete the job. Working with Logan and David on this job, felt like I was working with a partner who prioritized what was best for my needs. I will definitely hire again!

I had to call them back to fix errors and they were lacking in communication skills. The worker only worked 5 hours a day extending the time to finish an extra day. The ppaint on the woodwork isn't very good.
Response from Jack O Trades
"It quite surprises me that this client left such a review for us, those times you think you have a wonderful relationship with someone to then find they are unhappy with minor parts of the work performed, is not the best feeling for me. To explain... The drain we connected on the vanity had a leak that presented itself only after we tested it several times and had left for the day, yes, that can certainly happen. Though, I would think that if you have any issue arise and we come out the next morning to take care of it, one would appreciate such service, alas, I am apparently mistaken. And had the client mentioned a concern with the painting, though I would like to say we should catch this, we could have happily resolved it for her. We are all human and can make a mistake from time to time, but in these moments it's the manner in which it is handled, and we stand behind the work we do, always. And to note, we take great pride in having exceptional communication... it's one of the many things we do very well, if you get a chance to talk, email or text with me, I believe you too will likely come to this conclusion."

After years of planning, and first taking care of other needs around the house, I decided that our lanai needed a makeover, replacing our worn-out textured drywall ceiling (also in our front entryway) with tongue-and-groove wood, giving a new look to our columns, and also giving a little pizazz to one of the walls which had damaged stucco from where we had an old bar area demo’d. After obtaining a couple of estimates, one from a contractor who had already done some work for me, and another who also seemed more than capable, I stumbled upon some very favorable reviews of “Jack O’ Trades”. At first I was a little apprehensive (you know the saying: “Jack of all trades, master of none”), but I decided to call. I remember Logan Steege taking a significant amount of time chatting with me even on that first call about various ideas. He was very thorough, didn’t seem rushed, and spent a good 30-35 minutes on the phone with me. He genuinely seemed interested. It was only a few days later that he had Brian (Bigelow) come out to the house to take a look, and between the two of them, they came up with an estimate after Logan gave me some additional ideas from Pinterest. I ultimately decided to go with them, and put down my deposit. Now then, Logan coordinates the work, but Brian actually works alone, so it was going to take longer to complete than had I gone with someone else. I ended up getting cold feet late in the pre-work process, and had a company entirely devoted to wood ceilings come out to give me an estimate. I must admit, they gave a good sales pitch, but in the end, my conscience won, as I had already given my word to Logan. Well, I’m glad that I did. Brian completed the work today, and I must say, it turned out even better than I had imagined. Logan communicated with me frequently throughout the entire process, and Brian was meticulous in his work. He demo’d our existing drywall ceilings, and replaced them with cypress tongue-and-groove. He also built out our existing 3x3 inch aluminum posts with wood and schluter board to a base of ~12x12 inches with brick veneers, topped with fashioned capstones, themselves topped with stained wood wraps and corner guards. We also installed five recessed lights, and Brian coordinated his work with a separate company’s crew, which installed an entertainment system. My 89 year old mother, who lives with us, looked thru the sliding glass door a few days ago, and said: “Boy, he’s thorough.” The area in question is so relaxing now, and a big hit with our kids. Don’t let the name fool you. They don’t just do small jobs. This was a major renovation, and the craftsmanship and dedication was evident from the start. It wasn’t cheap, but was competitive nonetheless. Brian was timely, enjoyable to talk to, mild-mannered, and respectful. He also was immaculate in cleaning up every single day. I’ve already asked to be put on the schedule for some additional work I’d like done inside the house. I can’t recommend Jack O’ Trades highly enough!

I was extremely pleased with the work they did. Their professionalism was equally impressive as their craftsmanship. They kept great communication going throughout my experience. They were meticulous and committed to excellence in their work. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend their services to anyone looking to have home improvements done. (I have pictures of the finished projects but not before and after photos.)

They did a great job. Our house was built in 1992, so lots of little things are starting to break down. It's nice to know that there is a company that we can count on for good quality work for a reasonable price.

The inside guy did not clean up after himself. I had to sweep and pick up his used plastic wraps. Could not hang foyer light. My husband did it.

"Unfortunately, it looks like this review was made for us mistakenly as we have no record of a client by this name or this address anywhere in our system, and we will be in touch with Angi about getting it removed."

It was agreed that that the bad parts of the 3 pieces of wood on each side of the opening would be cut out and replaced and trim pieces would be added to the front of the opening. At first glance, when he was done, it all looked fine. After he left, I realized that the inside pieces had not been fixed. In that the garage door track runs close to it, it would take something like a Milwaukee Sawzall tool to cut it out. Since I have one and it would not be too difficult to cut the bad piece out and replace it, I went ahead and did that. When I opened it up, I realized that inner piece along the side had not been done, but was covered up by the outer piece and the trim. I have the tools to do it myself, but I just did not feel like doing it. So I ended up having to dismantle what had been done and redoing it myself anyway.
Response from Jack O Trades
"Hmmm... We cut away the rotting wood at the base of the garage and installed new boards to the concrete and replaced the around the front of the garage opening as per the specifics of our estimate details below. There was no mention in our estimate of changing out the inside pieces. To me, we did exactly what was asked of us and listed in our estimate. Additionally, we would have been happy to discuss this further with the client, had they simply called to go over their concerns. That is where to start any issue that is found, to see if an ample resolution is able to be made. SCOPE OF WORK TO INCLUDE LABOR, TRAVEL TIME, TOOLS & ALLOCATION/DELIVERY OF MATERIALS WE ARE PROVIDING: Cut out 2x8” on frame to garage in front of house on both sides Install new 2x8" PT at bottom of frame to garage Install new 1x4” trim all around front of garage and caulk in **Client to paint."
