Poor. Customer service did not phone back as I was told they would.

The first time we ran out the technician also looked at our fireplace and said parts needed to be replaced. He told us he would notify the office and someone would call us to schedule an appointment. That never happened. On their last trip the technician said our pressure gauge was broken and he would let the office know and dispatch someone to fix it. No one has called or shown up since. This company's service is horrid. Do not use them. We have dumped them and moved to another company that actually provides real customer support.

Don't choose a provider who doesn't call back after three attempts to get a sales rep to at least call and schedule an appointment. Do they have so much business they don't need more customers? I was advised by the person taking my call that a sales rep would be in touch within 24 hrs. No call. I called back again and she advised she would put the request in again. No call. Why would I ever want to be a paying customer with a company who isn't responsive to obtain my business - much less keep me as a satisfied customer once they have it? This company took over the Amerigas territory in the Tampa Bay area.

The two gentlemen who showed up to do the job were professional and friendly, and did a good job, despite the fact that the people we spoke to on the phone seemed to not care whether they had our business or not.  (Changing gas companies requires paying a lot to the current company to remove their equipment and then paying the new company to install theirs.)  We paid for the service on the same day and we have the receipt to prove it.  Shortly afterwards we received a second bill, and after several phone calls -- during which the HP reps confirmed that the extra charges were a mistake -- we received a third bill with a late fee.  It has now been three months and we have called them several times, and we are still getting phone calls and letters from Amerigas, who is apparently their parent company and who does their fee collecting.  We have NOT had a good experience with either of these companies.

Extremely poor customer service and pricing. $50 service fee to turn off the meter as part of regular service schedule (they read the meter monthly anyway). Took 2 weeks to get a tech to come and conduct the "meter turn off"!! Yet another way to continue charging you for the service. On hold for 15 minutes to get the 2week estimate on the service schedule and another 20 min to speak to a supervisor. We've been customers of the company for 6 years, never missed a payment, and this is how we are treated. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Do not use this company if you can find an alternative.  I just established service with them and had a gas line installed from my propane tank to my gas dryer.  This work was satisfactory except that the tech they sent was in a hurry and had little respect for doing a nice job.  However, other than a few extra holes in my drywall it works. 
The real issue is with the billing department.  I sincerely hope that they do not overcharge on purpose but the scenario that has happened to me is almost unbeliveable.  I have called the company 5 times to correct this and each time the people are nice and agree that I have been overcharged but no correction is made.  They tell me it will be made but the opposite is actually happening and I am being continuously charged on my credit card.  DO NOT use automatic payment with any of your accounts.  The job cost approx $450 and I have been charged 5 separate times for a total of $1400.  They have told me multiple times that it has been corrected but every time I check my bank account another charge has been applied and no credit. 
Additionally, be careful if you sign up for auto refill.  I was charged $4.65 per unit as well as some additional fees.  This is well over the going rate for propane. 
My recommendation is to find another company.  I am in the process of doing the same I just thought I would alert you first. Good luck.

They were very prompt when I called them regarding the problem.  They always keep my tank eighty percent full and make sure I never have a problem running out of gas.  I would use them again in the future.

When I called they said the earliest a technician to come was 5 January 2012 so we set it up.  They do not give an estimated time the technician would be there so I dedicated the day at home to wait.  When the technician arrived he did not seem to have good knowledge of gas fireplaces and had to call his service manager for advice.  He finally decided I needed a new gas valve and that would have to be special ordered.  He said someone from their office would contact me with a price and time for delivery.  This service call cost $100.  I didn't hear anything from Heritage for about two weeks and finally called them to find out what was happening.  They tracked down the service manager and I learned that the gas valve was supposed to come in to them on 24 Jan and they would call to set up an install appointment when it arrived.  I called them again on 30 January when nothing was heard and spoke to Heather who couldn't find anything in their records but promised to call me back with status after she talked with the service manager.  She did not call back that day or the following day.  I finally sent an email to a sales rep at Heritage threatening to take my business elsewhere, including propane purchase, unless they got out there within two days to fix it. He got back to me and said the tech would be there on Thursday 2 January.  The tech, different from the first visit, came on 2 January and began installation of the gas valve.  He said he would also replace the flame sensor and thermocouple because it was bad.  I asked if that could have been the problem all along so he hooked up the new sensors to the existing gas valve and it worked fine.  It was mis-diagnosed the first time.  All of the waiting could have been eliminated had it been done right originally.  This was a combination of poor technical work and lousy customer service.

Things went very well from start to finish.  Good quick meeting and detailed explanation of the work to be done in the quoting process.  Easy to schedule initial installation.  Good professional job installing the tank and piping run.  And, finally, a good quick final hook up to the range and detailed explanation of the system operation and safety precautions.  No complaints and the value was good.

We have used Hillsboro Gas Company for over 4 years and have never had a problem. They ensure that our propane tank is kept filled and leak check the system as needed.
