I told the plumbing company I was dissatisfied as it wasn't fixed. They told me to write them a letter outlining what happened. I did and included the second plumber's bill who did fix it. I already had paid them $50.00 of their $300.00 total charge but didn't pay the final $150 as it wasn't fixed after two visits. They never called again. I am a 77 year old widow and for the first time in my life nine months later I was served with a subpoena for the remaining $150.00. I had to go to court, was not allowed to bring a witness (the other plumber said he'd come) although they had a lawyer. I was at a hearing before a judge and I'd never even been in a courtroom before. Being fearful of retaliation or another date where my plumber who did fix it couldn't come, I elected to simply pay the total costs of over $1,200 (court costs and their lawyer's fee) plus the $150 I already paid them, plus the $150.00 I paid the plumber who did fix it.

"We tried to work with the customer. She was difficult to work with and as with all uncollected invoices we try to come to an agreement. the customer did not want to hear us and was never available for us to troubleshoot her problem. We do offer a warranty but she chose not to use it. It is not our goal to take customers into court but if an invoice remains unpaid then we must protect our business. I am sorry for any issue this may have caused the customer."

They were able to come out within a day or two. They were in an out quickly and fixed the problem. I did have a bit of an issue for the leaky valve because they came in for a few minutes identified the problem, then left for an hour to get parts, then returned for a few more minutes to fix the problem and then charged me for the full hour and a half. Their shop is not 30 minutes away, so I questioned them on the price, but they did not budge. With that said, overall they do a good job and stand by their work, I have used them before and I will use them again.

On the appointed day, only one guy came out and he worked diligently and quickly (at one point I had to help him because he was by himself) and the work was done beautifully. I've used them quite a bit over the years and find they are very good plumbers but not always so great at cleaning up after themselves. But so what? I can clean up -- but I can't do plumbing. These guys are good plumbers but sometimes don't speak very good English. I don't care though because they are always well mannered and efficient.

I did not have an emergency so I had an appointment. They called to reschedule later because they could not make the original appointment. I have used them before this and they charged me less than they said because the job was easier to do than first thought. I like their honesty, value and good work. Oh, they do put on booties over their shoes, too.
