Handyman Home Restoration

It wasn't bad until the part where they took the money and stopped working on job. Right after we gave them more money they just never came back. They stopped responding and when they finally emailed me back he said he did not have the money.

I hired Greg Crews, General Contractor of Handyman Home restorations in May 2014 for a home remodeling project. The initial estimate of the work was approximately $21,000. I was asked for a 50% initial deposit and paid $11,000.00. Due to termite damage and structural issues, the work took longer than anticipated and additional repairs/modifications/expenses had to be made. On or around June 30, 2014 I was given a new estimate updated at approximately $26,000 and was asked for the 2nd deposit equal to (50% of the remaining balance). Unclear exactly how much of the remaining balance was applicable due to the number of changes made and the costs I incurred for cabinets which were not mentioned in the estimate, I transferred $6,000 to Handyman Home Restorations via their online payment system . Since then however it has been really difficult to get ahold of him. My calls often go directly to voicemail which is a lot of cases is "too full" to leave a message. When I do hear from Mr. Crews the explanations offered  seem disingenuous. The last time I heard from Mr. Crews he stated he'd call me back that very day and when I called him later he answered stating he was too busy to discuss the situation at the moment. At this point, I've lost faith in his word. I'm disappointed and the worst part is the house is not ready for a necessary 4 point inspection. Remaining work include but are not limited to the following: Installment of two toilets, two bathroom vanities and respective sinks; installment of shower/tub fixtures, remaining grouting and tiling work for bathrooms and kitchen, installment of granite countertop on kitchen, installment of laminate floors, repairing of front porch flooring. I'm more disturbed at the lack of communication, and the inconsistency as to the reasons why, than the actual delay in the work.
