Counter tops went in well however when we asked the to come out to drill an additional hole for the water softener they stated it would be 150.00 to drill one dime size hole. that was only after we had to call them three times because they would not ever call us back. It felt like since the main job was done they wanted nothing to do with us after that.

On 29 Feb 13, I agreed to the proposal, signed the contract, paid 1/3 of the money up front. I was told it would take two weeks to get a permit. I was told while we were waiting for the permit the doors would be ordered.
That same week I received a call from HIS telling me permits are taking 30 days. I was also told someone needed to come measure my sewing room floor and a concrete person would be coming to measure the area for the added room.
The floor guy called me and it took me over a week to finally get back in touch with him and then several more days to get an appointment for him to be able to come to my house. Once the measurements were done, I was contacted by HIS and asked for approximately an additional $3000. Apparently, the original measurements had been miscalculated when the contract was prepared and the tile they used to estimate the budget was different than what I had in mind. I asked for the floors to be dropped out of the contract as I was unable to afford the additional cost at the time.
After many times the concrete guy did not show up. A different concrete person was obtained and he said it was not possible to do what was being requested. HIS was going to come up with an option for the room that would work or agreed to provide me my money back. From that point on I did not hear from them in spite of many attempts. I finally requested my money back in writing April. I continued to receive no response.
I was unable to find any indications of a permit ever being requested/granted and having had no contact, in May I hired a lawyer to help me get my money back. There was intermittent contact from HIS with the lawyer with promises to pay. HIS indicated they did not have the money but would pay when they could. They disputed the amount owed. I had to get bank information and send a copy of the contract, with a signature receipt for the amount, as proof of funds they had received. In Jun I received a partial payment. By Aug they were not responding to the Lawyer so we filed an action for damages in Hillsborough County Court, case number 13-CC-019908. The case is pending. HIS did send me the final payment in Sep, but still owes filing and attorney fees to the lawyer. Unless they settle their full debt, the case will continue to judgment. This is the first time I have ever had to sue anyone for anything and am extremely disappointed that it had to go this far, not to mention that I don't have the room I wanted.
This company came highly recommend to me and it still amazes me that I could not find honesty, integrity and service in a company bearing these words in the name of their company...H.I.S. (Honesty, Integrity and Service) Construction Design and Engineer, LLC.

Honesty? Integrity? Not really. Just showing up for a scheduled appointment would have been nice.

We are not finished yet so I will send an update but so far they have done what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. Colleen is the project manager and she is a contractor and she has a degree in design. She is so fun to work with and has great ideas. They have allowed me to keep costs down by shopping around for flooring, tiles etc. and this has kept me right in the thick of things. They are really good people to work with . When we met Ed, one of the contractors, at a home show, we knew immediately that we wanted to work with this company. Not one bit of disappointment. Just excitement that it will soon be finsihed and we will have an almost new home!

He was punctual, neat, didn't waste time and did the job for the price quoted. We couldn't ask for more.

The guy who came out was a painter. He was very good and did a beautiful job. He was very neat while he was doing it, so that's positive. He was pleasant and came when he said he was going to come. He covered everything up before he painted and put everything back where it belonged to. I was pleased with him. I called a couple of people who were supposed to come to give me an estimate, but they didn't come; so it was really frustrating. He is on Angie's List and has a good review. He was fair, really exceptional and I have recommended him to the people here too.

On time, professionals who do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. Any small concerns throughout the process of the remodel were quickly addressed and resolved in a professional manor. They didn't use subs and the men they sent were true craftsmen that took lots of pride in their work.
