My lawn started getting dead grass spots. I called numerous times for the technician to come out and look at the problem with no response or satisfaction. Each time I called had to leave a message on the answering machine. They burned areas in my front lawn the first time they treated my lawn about 7 months earlier. They did come back that time and admitted they applied something too heavy but instead of taking the steps necessary to correct the problem, they advised me to buy some top soil and put it on the burned areas. In other words they left it up to me to correct their mistake. These recent brown grass spots looked the same as the previous problem. I finally called to cancel my service, again getting the answering machine, and voiced my total dissatisfaction with their lawn care and the extremely poor customer service. Again, I never received a call from anyone even slightly interested in rectifying the problem much less an apology for awful service.

Went great. Reliable, dependable. We were new to Fl and didn't realize all the critters and such that could ruin a yard. Initially i thought paying these guys was redundant and that our lawn cutting people should be able to handle it…then i began to understand that you really need to nurture your lawn or else you will be stuck with the huge expense of replacing all the sod and starting over.

The problem with all of these services is that you have absolutely no idea if they are doing what they are charging you to do unless you are hope each time they come (and my wife and I work so this is not possible). In addition, there are no guaranteed results. They collect your money, but what happens to your lawn is anyone's guess. In the almost 6 months I've been using them, the lawn in my backyard has gotten worse and worse. That may or may be their fault, but nobody from the company ever called to say, "Hey, your yard looks horrible - we should discuss a plan and a timeline to get it fixed". In fact, I told them I wanted to talk them or they should discontinue service - in writing - because I could see no point in paying $45/mo for a brown/dead lawn and nobody called and they came out and treated again (or so they say) the next month - which I won't be paying them for.... I don't want to paint Grow Max as worse than anyone, rather I want to characterize them as the same. This is the second company I've used and the results are the same. They keep collecting your money with absolutely no guarantee of results and no communication whatsoever about your lawn and how their services are or will improve it. If I'm going to pay $45/mo I want to see tangible improvements and my lawn's health continues to decline. I can get a bad lawn for free. If anyone knows of a fertilizing / pesticide service who actually cares about the customer, not just taking their $45/mo, please let me know because I haven't found one yet including Grow Max.
Response from Grow Max Inc
"Management of landscaped properties requires the ability to control all aspects of the property. Example: Mowing heights, Irrigation consistency and coverage, proper pruning and timing of pruning, installation techniques, soil types placement are just a few things usually not controlled by the fertilizing and pest control companies. If recommendations are made and not carried out, many companies can all have poor performance records on a property."

After using two Lawn companies and my lawn kept looking like I didnt spend a dime on it, I decided to try Grow Max. I walk all over town for my business and noticed the best lawns were kept by Grow Max. They have been so wonderful, from being very patient with me, as I was a little tainted to suggesting Rye grass for better looking grass during the winter months. I wish I could tell every person in South Tampa how great they are... well I guess I am. :)) Winford is very personable and as a business owner myself, I know we all try to be perfect but the most important thing was that he was always there to chat or email, even with his busy schedule.

I have been a customer for two years now. Everyone who sees my lawn asks me who did it because it looks so good. My neighbors are now using them too. They use organic material whenever possible.

It has been very good. They come once a month to check over the lawn. If I have questions or concerns I can call them and leave them a message and they will call back within twenty four hours. They are really nice about explaining the lawn needs and why they made certain decisions about the care of the lawn.
