GREENSCAPE LAWN SERVICE INC

When I happened to be there one day a few months ago, when their truck showed up for service, I asked if they had any other thoughts or suggestions as to what was happening. About the best they could come up with was to water more often. And in fact, as their application techs left, they stopped to look at our trash at the end of the driveway and picked out a few items they liked to take with them.

After patiently allowing another month to pass, I realized that things were only getting worse. I contacted our lawn service Southern Florida.Lawn and Landscaping - great folks by the way - and asked for a recommendation for a new company, and hired them. They told us we had chinch bugs that had apparently not been treated.

My wife and I tried on multiple occasions to contact Greenscape at their business number, and always got voice mail. 4 or 5 times we left messages to let them know that we were cancelling our service with them, and never did ever receive a return phone call or acknowledgement of any sort. I assumed they would have gotten the message.

But sure enough, they returned a couple of weeks ago (neither my wife nor I were home), and applied something to the lawn again. They also left a $30 service invoice. Within a few days, I sent a registered letter to them, explaining how we had asked them to cancel service and were forced to contact them in this more formal, legal fashion, because of their lack of responsiveness. I received the signed confirmation of receipt from them a few days later. That was a week ago.

Wouldn't you just know that we received a formal bill from them today, in the mail, for that unwanted $30 service. Not wishing to risk any credit issues by refusing to pay the bill to this unprofessional outfit, we paid it, and included a note expressing our extreme displeasure.

As it turns out, our lawn is.looking much better already, and is chinch bug free, thanks to Brothers Lawn and Shrub Pest Control. I think we are well on our way to getting our lawn back.

However, we have still never received any acknowledgement from Green scape that they will actually be discontinuing service. We included in the note with our check a demand to please stay away from our property. If they actually show up again and do anything to the lawn again, our next call will be to the sheriff's office.

To all Angie's List members.....stay away from this company! They deserve your Hall of Shame! Hope this helps to save someone else from the damage and headaches we have endured. We appreciate your service, and rely upon you almost exclusively for recommendations.
