Good Greek Moving & Storage

This started as a wonderful experience. Ended with a nightmare. BEWARE of hidden charges. They'll hit you for 25% on top of 25%. Our quote DOUBLED. Trip charge. Truck charge. Gas charge. So many charges and then on top of that they hit it all with 25%. We lost it on the phone and after threats of a negative review which surprises me because EVERY REVIEW is BAD, they reached out to me and promised a $300 refund on our chard which they did. BUT THEN they decided to hit my card with an UNAUTHORIZED charge for $89 which we are disputing. This company pledges on being honest and servicing veterans and screening and all that...we trusted them and PROMISED them after the $300 refund we would leave a review that was more on the positive side...but they FAILED US AGAIN by charging the same card they refunded with $89. STAY AWAY....

When movers showed up they didn't have estimate even though driver reminded office of request. He was told to do over phone. A 2 bedroom home took almost 4 hours to pack and move. It was a 5 mile move to storage. They charged $1400+ . We were expecting in the neighborhood $800. They ripped off a senior citizen that was under a lot of duress. When she called to complain the woman that answered was extremely rude. They charged a lot for their protective packing covers used in lieu of blankets. DON'T USE THEM unless you have a lot of money to throw away. The only reason I gave a 2 star was because the guys that did the work were good. They have no control on how the company is operated.

Terrible customer service. Terry from Good Greek never returned my calls and failed at addressing our issues post-move. My daughter’s bed is still not fixed months after the move. Items took weeks to find as they were randomly packed in all unmarked boxes. Responsiveness was terrible. Here’s a list of things that were packed and moved - .40 caliber pistol, generator with gas, all alcohol and all cleaning supplies. I’m not guessing that was supposed to be moved per the contract. As I cleaned my refrigerator to get rid of some alcohol, two of the movers pulled a bottle of rum out of the trash and took a few drinks then threw it away. Don’t use this company.

TL;DR: I will never do business with Good Greek Moving & Storage again. They will charge you insane prices while making up excuses for their abysmal and pathetic customer service. I encourage everyone to heed my warning and the warnings of others across all the review sites. A year ago, I moved with Good Greek Moving & Storage from a single-family home close to Clearwater Beach to a two-bedroom apartment in Odessa. Everything went smoothly, and only took from start to finish about four hours. A little over $1,000 (including deposit, charged for a minimum of 3 hours with 3 men, etc.) This time, I moved in June 2024 from that same apartment to a one-bedroom in Tampa. So, a much shorter distance (30 minutes compared to about an hour travel time) plus a lot less to move, since we were going into a much smaller space. This time, however, the move took 5-6 hours. The team of Yunior (who funnily enough was a part of the team who moved us previously), Yosvanis, and Osvani were assigned. Multiple times during this move, I noticed how the pace of the move was incredibly slow. Despite everything being boxed except for clothes (which the boxes were provided for) and the furniture not being wrapped, it took this team three hours to load the truck. And we even had an elevator conveniently allowing them to easily move from our third floor to the first! There goes that minimum time. As soon as we traveled the roughly 30 minute drive to the new apartment, Yunior mentioned that we had an invoice to pay. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I find it odd that we HAD to pay the invoice before the job was done. All our belongings were still in the truck. Imagine my surprise when the invoice was for $1,753.70, which included the $260 deposit we had to make to book them. In total, they claimed this move would take 7.5 hours and cost (with deposit) about $2,000. How does that even make sense? In just one year ago, the same company (with the same guy on the team) only charged us a little over $1,000 for a farther distance and more items to move. I had Yunior call his supervisor, which I assume was Robert Ledford of Operations, and I let him know my complete dissatisfaction with the price, and demanded to know why this move was going to be significantly more than the last one. Robert Ledford had nothing but excuses to give. Frustrated, I paid the invoice. I had no choice, all my belongings were still on that truck! The unpacking from the truck took (surprise) a full two hours less than they claimed it would. Despite that, they charged my card on file anyways for that full $1,753.70. Apparently we would get a refund if the move took a shorter time than they estimated, but as of July 2nd, I have not received a refund for those hours. Here's the big takeaway: Good Greek Moving & Storage are dishonest, manipulative, and deceptive. There is no way that a smaller and shorter move should have cost significantly more. I cannot fathom why anyone would want to do business with this company when there are plenty of bad reviews. I guess it's my fault for thinking that the same company who did a good job last time would do another good job a year later? Shame on me? STAY FAR AWAY FROM GOOD GREEK MOVING & STORAGE.
