Their quote was for $2600. We would say that we had a very positive experience with them. The gentleman that we talked to answered all our questions and seemed to be pretty straight forward. It was just that we got a quote from someone else that we do business with and their pricing was a bit better. It was not strictly a price related section. He was very responsive and he answered all questions clearly and concisely. He was very professional told me a little bit of the business and why he does what he does and the one thing that impressed me was that this company does the whole thing, they don't subcontract any part of the contract. They are a full service provider as versus some of these companies where they sell the product and send out somebody else. For the pool they send out two people. One needs an installer and secondly one needs a plumber to redo the lines and third the gas heater which is specialty thing. This guy has experience in all three areas and does all three things himself instead of subcontracting to anybody else. If there is problem there is no question that the gas guy did it wrong or the plumber did it wrong.

Paul came on time, was professional and fixed the Gas heater.

I have used a few different companies in the past for service on our natural gas fired spa heater. Most were good but I have found over the years, that they tend to dissapear or not return calls.
I selected Gastek Pool and Gas services from the internet mostly because while listed on Angie's List, there were no reviews to read.
Paul (the owner of Gastek) responded within minutes to my initial call. On his website, he also has a contact us, where you can ask a question or explain your problem. I did both and when he called me back told me he had received both the email and the phone msg.
I believe it was the next day which was a Thursday or Friday he came to service our unit. He went through diagnostic (electronic) tests on our spa heater..he also told me what values that he was looking for prior to and during the testing of various components and why he was doing each test. Finally, the pilot light was weak (I was was also told that by the previous repair company) and would cost about $250.00 for a replacement. He continued to troubleshoot the rest of the system for any additional problems prior to changing out the pilot light. The main gas valve/switch unit was also not operating correctly and he tried to get it to operate about 5-6 times while bypassing the pilot light system. With this also needing replacement, the repair would be about $800.00. I asked about a new unit cost since the current unit was 13 years old. He told me he could fix the old unit that he did have the parts on his truck. I asked him to give me a few minutes to talk to my wife about it and he said fine. We decided, due to the age of the old heater, we would probably at this point continue to have things fail on it that we would just replace it with a new more efficient unit. The following Tuesday morning Paul came out and installed the new unit which took about 2 hours probably because I kept asking questions. Finally he explained all the operating functions to the new unit, gave me the warranty information and operating manual. He took the old unit and all other debris with him.
All-in-all, an excellent experience, I will use Gastek for future services if needed. I was never pressured to put in a new unit. I actually asked about a replacement first.
