Florida Pool Finishers

Florida Pool Finishers was sub-contracted by Patio Pools who we contracted with to re-finish our pool. They sub-contracted with an independent contractor to do the prep work, and Florida Pool Finishers to do the surface. The job was started in February. It is now seven months later, and our pool surface is covered in dark spots that continue to multiply. Phil at Florida Pool Finishers has stated to me that he believes it is black mold. This is the story with photos of the bad job that they both did on our pool, and the horrible job they have done to this point standing behind their work and warranty. [*** Link removed ***]

Not happy! Horrible experience. This company did do a wonderful job resurfacing the interior of the pool. That is all, they should only stick to this part of their job.

The entire job was contracted on 8/13/14 the job was finally completed (amongst numerous interruptions, excuses & redoing bad work on the copping.) 10/22/14. I do not think they had professionals doing the deck work. Like I said one person came to  demoed the pool edge, installed the coping, which had to be taken off because it was uneven, wavey & spaced to far apart. When they finally finished, I noticed it was much better than before, but the pavers were not even (they were laid down on my cement deck with sand laid down under the pavers so that they float) Phil said it is not even because my deck was not even. That is ridiculous., the coping inside the pool had sharp edging sticking out (It was not a smooth finish. Someone holding the inside edge could get cut on it.) Phil just took a sheet of sand paper & tried to sand down the coping by hand. The inside coping is still not smooth,  the entry pad was horrible (they piled sand up to make it even with the deck. Placed pavers on top & scooped cement against the sides to hold in the sand. They did not use a wooden form to shape & hold the cement in place.), they left a 1 1/2 inch pvc tube sticking straight up as my overflow drain with no cover to protect it from debris or snake to clog or enter my pool. They did give me a new drain, but they did not put in new fittings. They just left open holes. I had to buy new fittings myself. I had to put together some pipe joints to make the overflow drain curve to face the ground & put some screen over the hole so nothing gets inside. They also left me with sand, cement, broken paver pieces & concrete dust everywhere. I had to clean this up the best I could. I bought more mulch to hide the stuff i couldnt pick up. Phil told me, he would come back to fix some things. But, never returned. He did not answered or returned my calls or email. LESSON:  I learned never give that final check until the job is complete and done correctly no matter how nice they talk to you. They lie!

Florida Pool Finishers were contacted by our pool contractor and an apt was set. Fl Pool Finishers did not show up when scheduled, the representative or pool finishing technician first language was not English and when he did contact us, finally, we were having extreme difficulty understanding him which made the situation worse. It took several attempts with the owner of the company by myself and my husband, and weeks to get an appointment secured. The work was average. We are not thrilled, but at least it is finally done. The work was no cost to us as our pool finish is under warranty.

I've subcontracted Florida Pool Finishers for over 20 years. Easily the most experienced and consistent applicator in the area. They are also the only guys who can install Wet Edge in the area, which is the best material around today. Highly recommended.
