Remodeled a home bar into a childrens' playroom. It was a great job and we are very pleased with the result. We would use him again without hesitation.

I started talking with various home improvement companies in July and focused on the and quot;one stop shopand quot; due to my never having undertaken a renovation project and felt I needed to have one company and quot;do it alland quot;. However, I found these companies were rigid, inflexible and and quot;cookie-cutterand quot;. Pat Ely was recommended to us and we decided to talk with him and express our concerns of working with a contractor versus a home improvement center. When Pat came to the house, his quiet leadership style was overwhelming and built confidence from the start. Pat was positive and listened to my ideas. He was honest about the project; costs involved and provided the assurance we needed of working with him. He took us step by step, recommended an excellent cabinet company, flooring etc… Pat reminded us and quot;This should be fun, relax and have funand quot; We embarked on the project with a certain degree of anxiety, however, as each day passed, our confidence grew and we soon found ourselves having fun! This company is truly and quot;small townand quot; standard of care. Pat has a knack for seeing an obstacle as a challenge. There was nothing before or during the renovation that was impossible. His attention to detail is outstanding! Pat kept the entire project focused on common sense, functionality and our overall vision. Because of his experience, Pat was able to guide us through the entire kitchen makeover and provided suggestions based on that experience. He brought things to our attention that we had never thought about. Best of all, he never once rushed us, instead, guiding us as to what we should be doing to move the project forward. He was very respectful of our crazy schedule and never once gave us the impression of impatience with us. From the start of the project to the end, Pat was there, guiding us through the entire process. Clean up was immaculate, detail outstanding and we could not be happier! Pat supervised each aspect and jumped in as our advocate if he felt something needed to be redone or adjusted. Not only did Pat respect our budget, he reassured us that we would love our kitchen, no matter what my budget was. And we do! Pat kept our budget in mind when making suggestions to improve the project and made sure I didn't sacrifice my wishes. Utilizing Ely Contracting allowed us to pick exactly what we wanted and have a professional eye to consult with. Pat is especially good at patterns and picked up on some great detail, which we would not have thought about. On days where I was stressed, he reminded me and quot;this should be fun, relaxand quot; and walked me again through the process. One should not worry about Pat Ely or Ely Contracting's skills or workmanship; one should worry that they can't fit you in! Ely Contracting is the little secret that I uncovered and I'm so glad I did! We now begin saving for our next project and there is no doubt, Ely Contracting will be doing it! This is the contractor/handyman everyone hopes to find, but rarely does. Not only is Pat Ely very good at what he does (the work was neat, clean and done RIGHT), he is very fairly priced. We had a terrible run of experience with another "licensed" contractor working in our area and it took us several months of checking with other contractors (all of whom wanted to charge us over $1000 for the work Mr. Ely did for $200). Mr. Ely not only came when he promised, he got down to business quickly, neatly, and with complete professionalism. But that's not all...he also recommended that we keep a door we thought we would have to replace, suggesting a different alternative (with a different contractor) that was more cost effective for us. And that's why this handyman/contractor (he's a licensed building contractor) should be your first choice for any work around your house--he's HONEST. Not enough superlatives for this professional.
