Elegant Events by J&S

I read otherr reviews and was excited about hiring Elegant Events. I assured my parents and family that for our $4000 budget for 75, we'd have an elegant classy 50th anniversary celebration. When initially speaking to Sherran, I was even more convinced that it would be amazing and the day before the event she seemed professional and confident. Unfortunately it was nothing like what we hoped for. First of all of the colors were all wrong and were not even the same throughout the venue.The decorations were upgraded free of charge and I'm afraid to think of what it would have looked like without the upgrade because it was plain and you could clearly see the glue on the plastic flowers. There were some awful little plastic tealights that seem to come from the Dollar Store. The overall decorations were just plain, simple and cheap looking. The food was worse than the decor. The herb-roasted chicken tenderloins were DRY and there were cheap plastic forks with no knives to cut it. The rice was dry as well and the vegetables were not cooked all the way through. The lemonade tasted like the powder was not completely mixed and the guest of honor had to ask for ice more than once. The salad looked like pre-bagged lettuce and that's all. I am embarrassed and livid that family traveled from all over to witness such a poorly put-together event. Just about every single guest commented on how sub-par the decorations and food were. They actually thought I had just paid a friend "a couple of dollars" to throw something together. The only saving grace were the photographer and DJ and they were hired separately. There was an iPad left at the venue. I sent her a text a day later to ask if she found one, and she assured me that she had an placed in the office. She didn't even have the professionalism to call me and let me know she had found anything. She has yet to reach out to see if I was a satisfied client or if my parents were happy. I cannot understand how there are any five star reviews for events by the same company that gave us 1 star quality. I feel completely hood-winked and ripped off.
